Hello,

My mother was murdered on April 26, 1976, along with her former in laws Agnes and Bill Rupollo, in Bensonhurst New York. To the best of my knowledge the case was never solved. My reason for posting is I was hoping that someone could assist me with where I might go to get additional information, aside from Brooklyn PD? All of their paper records are stored in a warehouse somewhere and I don’t expect to get a lot of help from them.

Thank you.

Welcome to Websleuths. You’ll need to do a few things.
  1. Get set up as a Verified Insider (easy process)
  2. Click Report on your post and have the title updated with State, Name, Age, City - in the format that you see on other posts.
  3. Provide main stream media links (MSM) to your story. This can be a news report, news video, a public Facebook post such as the police dept or news station (not your personal page) or maybe scans of old newspaper clippings.

Also, have you searched to see if your mothers case is already listed here in her own thread? If it is, the two threads can be merged.

@Livnthedream71 , will you have time to complete the Verified Insider process for the new year?

Good suggestions from previous posters. I hope that you can get your mother's case and information posted here.

Not the OP but I found this by searching the names provided. Sounds like it might be the same case but off by 1 year, different spelling for last name and man's name is Ernest not Bill, maybe nickname?

Apr 27, 1975 - The other victims were his wife, Agnes, also in her 60s, and her former ... Ernest (Ernie the Hawk) Rupolo, a gangland trig-german who was ..

Yes, this is my mom. I’m not sure who Ernest is but my moms ex father in law was William (Bill) Rupoli.

Might click Report in your initial post, and ask that a Moderator add the location, complete date, and names to the thread title.

Don't know how you feel about this, but including "possible organized crime involvement" or the like might interest some posters.

Agree! The fact that the child was out of the home when the murders occurred makes me wonder if someone knew that? Otherwise prob 4 deaths instead of three.

The son/ex hub in jail and the child in the hospital. The ex DIL visiting. If this was organized crime, or even just a generic hit, I suspect the ex DIL was an innocent casualty. It seems Gpa was the intended target. JMO.

Agree. He & g’ma were in living room- where fire was started. DIL in bedroom. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Very tragic. So sorry! I have to wonder if killers knew daughter wouldn’t be there when the hit was done. Could be an amazing coincidence?

Have you filed a New York Freedom of Information request? Here is the website Committee on Open Government That will be a good start on finding out what the police found while investigating.

Yikes; a horrific case. I can't find anything indicating that any form of justice whatsoever was brought in this case.

Linking to another news article that I found - "Mob fence, 2 Women Found Bound & Killed":
April 27 1975 NY Daily News William Rupolo Murdered

April 27 1975 NY Daily News William Rupolo Murdered - Newspapers.com

Also noticed that in articles about the mob murder of William's brother Ernest in 1963, they almost always refer to William as "Willie Rupolo" vice "Bill" or "William"; it seems I am getting more varied search results depending which name I enter for him.
