My take on the ransom note...

[it appears to me that parts of it were dictated to Patsy,and/or she was given the gist of what to put in the note,]

If that is the case they why would John "tell" Patsy to write" Use that good southern common sense of yours." if she knows and he knows that John is not from the south?
Use that good southern common sense of yours. (I think this is a reference to Merrick knowing JR prior to CO.,when they were both in the south.JR used this to specifically point to Merrick.).

According to RDI there's all this very clever deceit going on in what was supposed to be an unplanned event. There's disguised handwriting, deliberately misspelled words (that nobody even mentions), and John telling PR to imply in the RN that he's from the south. I'm sure RDI now would claim that JR deliberately asked PR to imply JR was from the south to mislead investigators!

I'm sorry, but this whole deceit mess is better explained by someone without complete intelligence on JR, who knows how to spell advise, but doesn't know how to spell business. Why does it not surprise me that someone who doesn't like 'fat cats' also doesn't know how to spell 'business'?

An intruder, for instance?

JMO, for the record, I'll agree, and I always thought that there was dictation, but not between the parties you think. Between a ESL and a non english speaker, maybe.

Couples typically have a sort of insider lingo in which they use certain phrases that have a special meaning between them, as opposed to the general self-evident meaning of a particular phrase. Patsy spends the entire note speaking directly to John. IMO Patsy was reminding John, through the note, what would be required of him for THEM to be able to pull this all off, i.e. "It is up to you now John!"

not likely either one.it doesn't fit the bill for that.and not even the experts believe a foreigner wrote it.
it does fit the bill for being someone who's language is English, and trying to be deceptive.TRYING is the keyword.you can dumb down...but you can't dumb up.it just doesn't work that way.I think I'll write like a foreigner for awhile,so you can learn to recognize it.now what did you said?????

yes, that's why the so-called RN is so outlandish!

There's disguised handwriting, deliberately misspelled words (that nobody even mentions),
who hasn't mentioned it??

and John telling PR to imply in the RN that he's from the south.
nope.that wasn't my interpretation at all.my view is that,in trying to set up Merrick and friends, that line was put in there by JR,as a gimmick, being that Merrick knew him when they were in the south together prior.

well let's see...we have Patsy,a journalism major,who can't spell a simple 4th grade word,yet we have a foreigner who does??

Why does it not surprise me that someone who doesn't like 'fat cats' also doesn't know how to spell 'business'?

well, you'd think if it was an foreign intruder who didn't like fat cats (but oh yes...nonetheless said he respected their business),that he'd likely know how to properly spell business.

who hasn't mentioned it?? PMPT, DOI, and the tabloids.

I think its telling that the author both expressed a dislike for personal wealth, and could not spell business. Its ironic, don't you think?

I dont see it as ironic. I see it as intentional.

You are entitled to your opinion that PR misspelled business and advise intentionally, to mislead investigators. What else did PR do to mislead investigators? PR called 911 before the time she herself stipulated in the RN. She wrote the RN left-handed and her own sample right-handed. She hid the cord and tape while leaving out the pineapple. She left the RN on the stairs and left JBR in the farthest most remote corner of the house.
I'm sure there's more that PR supposedly did to mislead investigators, but if you asked me, I'd tell you that's a claim that can not be substantiated not even once.

In other words, in the umpteen times that RDI says PR was misleading investigators, not once has it been proven.

It has, however, been proven that foreign male DNA was found on JBR. This is the difference between fact and fantasy.

Good Lord My Man. (You know I am a lurker and post once in a while).

But is the statement above from you where say "foreign", the reason that you say IDI in so MANY of your posts???? Is it in your mind that "foreign" equates to IDI??

Before you get in a huff................I have also read about the "foreign" DNA.............

Have you ever thought it was a mix of semen with maybe something foreign?? (I am hoping no one will be offended)!!

I have seen the evidence you claim and I find that misleading when I hear the DA say it was highly degraded and would not be surprised if it was of no vaue. Remember that press conference when they had to let Karr go. Nice try no cigar.

not to mention, she didn't even read the damn note ! Sorry, but if she did, unless she just doesn't have a lick of common sense (which wouldn't surprise me any),she would have known there's NO WAY Karr could have written it...he didn't know the family, nor therefore could have come up with that silly line about using good southern common sense ! I mean :rolleyes::rolleyes: and !!!!

none taken, only thing is tests indicate there was none found.

JMO8778,

Correct and the dna may have arrived from multiple sources such as toilet seats, toilet paper, airborne dna, e.g. people sneezing, that it was degraded implies it was older than the day on which JonBenet wore those size-12's, but they were fresh, just out of the tube that day, so go figure, maybe they should test the lea who handled the forensic evidence?

And of course just in case there are any IDI fence-sitters reading there is zero forensic evidence linking an intruder to the crime-scene, but many items linking the parents, without explanation, to the crime-scene!

The ransom note like the pineapple and the size-12's demonstrate that JonBenet's death is a staged homicide.

What any IDI theory must explain is why the intruder did not remove JonBenet from the house, dead or alive, since a ransom note has no monetary value without a body to return?

The killer of JonBenet made many mistakes, one of which was retaining her body in the house.

good point,indeed they should !!

there's some thought in my mind that they'd considered removing her body from the house, due to the RN contents, and the missing phone records..but I think someone or someones backed out on helping them, thinking it much too risky to undertake.
If we knew who all they called before 911,that might give us a very good indication of the intended, but then discarded, prior plans.

JMO8778,
The ransom note implies she has been kidnapped, and offers a prompt for dialling 911, to complete the staging JonBenet's body should have been deposited outdoors, the failure to do this was an error of judgement.

The alternative was the discovery of JonBenet elsewhere in the house e.g. her bed, the question is why was this not undertaken, what distinguishes the wine-cellar from her bedroom?

The ad-hoc additions to the wine-cellar staging e.g. the nylon restraints, the duct-tape, the garrote stick etc all suggest that either a prior crime was being obscured or a previous staging was being amended, or possibly both?

The interesting question and one never answerd by the PDI proponents is why was JonBenet's apparently staged sexual assault cleaned up and hidden from view?

I reckon the staging was done with a view to masking any prior molestation and then hidden so to conform to a bedtime abduction scenario.

We can infer this as no intruder would stop to redress JonBenet after sexually assaulting her, even her killer did not intend us to think this, so the redressing has another purpose.

for one, they were afraid brother BR might see her if her body was left in her bedroom, and they couldn't take that chance..they didn't want him questioned as to what he might have overheard that night, for one thing. And to leave her in her bed appears too much like a parent or occupant of the house committed the crime;better to write a RN and move the body to another location, although I have some doubt it was to originally be in the house at all,not even the basement.JR trying to account for his prints on the walk-in fridge makes me wonder if he'd thought of placing her there, until someone else arrived to take her away.
On that note,JR trying to do all this accounting for his own evidence, shows he was fully prepared when ST's book came out,to already have an explanation for it all;i.e.-he was involved w. the cover-up before the 911 call,it leaves no doubt about that,IMO.

I've often felt that the Rs may have hidden her away in the furthest reaches of the basement in the hopes that no one searching the house WOULD find her. I feel that the Rs may have honestly felt that if this was presented as a kidnapping, that police would come, speak to them, have a look at the ransom note, and leave to begin their investigation. Then, a few hours later they would frantically call police back and say that JBR had been killed because they did not follow instructions and called police. They could say she'd been left at the back door or something.

When it became obvious that LE had no intention of leaving, JR had to "find" her. He wasn't naive- he was well aware of the fact that waiting too long to "find" her would have made that task infinitely more horrible.

I have seen the evidence you claim and I find that misleading when I hear the DA say it was highly degraded and would not be surprised if it was of no vaue. Remember that press conference when they had to let Karr go. Nice try no cigar.

The DNA under her fingernails may have been contaminated by the coroners sloppy procedures. It is a fact that he did not follow proper protocol, which was to use a separate sterile clipper for each finger. Instead, he used the same one for all 10 fingers. With such disregard for sterile conditions, perhaps he was also sloppy about sterilizing the clipper he did use. It may have been DNA belonging to a previously autopsied male.
Now, one thing that does confuse me is the DNA in the panties. I know there was JBR's blood. That's her DNA. I have read two different versions of the male DNA there. That it was from a drop of blood mixed with JBR's blood. And that it was not male DNA in blood, but just male DNA that was in the same place as the drop of JBR's blood.
What does everyone think about it?

That's what I think,as well as,it could have come from someone who handled the underwear after it was taken as evidence, or while it was being taken as evidence.Goodness knows Team Scamsey wouldn't have wanted anyone else tested.
But Mark Fuhrman thinks it's stutter dna,or just a replication of a tiny bit of dna that was already there (possibly that might even include some of JB's dna as well?).Remember that dna is everywhere, and it was only picked up anyway because those techniques have become more advanced.
