Great news. Not updated on the website yet but I did see mention on their Facebook page.

Why does DNA Doe Project post to Facebook regularly, but so lazy on Twitter? Nothing there in 6 weeks.

Frankly I wish the slant were the other way.

The Doe Upload file is updated every Monday. Sumter County Does did not make the August 31 version. Maybe it will be there September 7 with info on strength of the matches.

I never studied centimorgan over/unders. This topic never came up in Las Vegas

Could be age thing, maybe. I grew up without internet, social media, mobile phones, hashtags, as DDP officials did, and I don't like Twitter at all. On FB there's instant and easily accessible feedback you can see who it's from. Much better communication. The only time I go on Twitter is to see if someone famous died, or some huge accident ot incident occurred. Why do you "wish the slant were the other way"? They are not just here to inform us, they work with us. If they used only Twitter it would be so cold.

What about Las Vegas?

Yes....
Something about this case has always been "off" to me..cant quite put my finger on it..doesnt jive.

You mean like how LE had the person in custody who was arrested for driving while drunk who was in possession of a stolen weapon with the serial number filed off and matched the weapon to the bullets that killed the two Does? You are correct, it doesn't jibe.

What about Las Vegas?

I prefer Twitter by landslide for various reasons, notably the Facebook owner's policies. There have been many revolts against Zuckerberg by Facebook employees recently and it should have happened years ago. Twitter recently has been considerably more beholden to truth and ethics, although hardly going far enough.

There is zero chance I would ever be on Facebook but now I am using Twitter regularly.

The Las Vegas reference was in regard to my decades in the sportsbook realm including setting odds. Off the top of my head I can set over/under on virtually anything but I'd hate to book a market, for example, on whether Sumter County Jane Doe's top match is over or under 50. That's what I was getting at. If I took a look I might get the hang of it.

DNA successfully extracted and research is in progress.

One thing I pointed out on the grateful doe subreddit, its entirely possible that one will take MUCH longer to identify than the other. It was proven that they weren't siblings, so it may be entirely possible that they met up after breaking contact with their families. So one might take much longer to identify than the other if the families weren't aware of the relationship.

Because „ain't nobody got time for that“;)
I am pretty sure the volunteers are busy doing some other, more important things. I suggest checking the Facebook page on a regular basis and keeping it in the „favourites“ section of your browser.

Just my opinion... maybe they don't post on Twitter because the post will get lost in the millions of posts there. I wish there was an option for them that if, for example, they post here, they can choose to have it simultaneously post on FB, Twitter and anywhere else they would like it to. I have that option with my blog.

I really hope DDP will do an update specifically on their ethnicity/what country they appear to come from based on their DNA. That alone would be so enlightening.

Small sample but to answer my own question I looked at the current DNA Doe Project active cases. The median for cM of top match is roughly 67.5

I'm normally an under bettor but let's hope for two fly overs this time.

Actually this time should have happened already. It's been September 7 for several hours, but no update. I hope they aren't stooping to daylight hours.

They usually update it at 7-10 a.m. California Mountain Standard Time

It’s a holiday today, so probably won’t be updated until tomorrow.

Grant County John Doe just got added too so it might take a little bit.
