I'd bet the As figured the PIs were covered by some type of privilege.

But WAIT - if they subpeona him, and he can't plead the 5th, he can still refuse to answer and he'll be held in contempt. But the judge can't FORCE him to SAY anything - like how reporters go to jail (held in contempt) for protecting their sources.

Although that itself might be obstruction of justice in a criminal case. Someone with criminal experience help me out! I'm confused!

Pretty sure they mean he will make a DEAL. But apparently this subpoena means he has this special immunity, "use immunity", as prescribed by FL law.
