Casey doesn't have to talk because Cindy is doing a fine job of speaking for her.

I believe Cindy is delusional too, or (I hate to say because I have no proof), I am beginning to think Cindy helped cover this up. I have never seen a Mom acting like Cindy. She is part of the problem with Casey and has been enabling her for years.
And in reference to Casey spending so much time at the attorney. Why? She isn't talking so why does she go to his office for 7 hours with her book bag? Just weird to me. Even the lawyer on NG tonight said it was strange.

A child left in a car seat in a hot car would be considered 'accidental' and (usually) without malice. I believe that would get an involuntary manslaughter type charge (maybe gross negligence too). Depending on the situation I suppose they could go for a tougher charge. But proving premeditation would be a huge challenge.

IIRC the dogs didn't hit in the backseat, or the carseat. They hit in the trunk. I believe this is where Caylee died, and was left for days? jmo

I've been lurking for a while after being told that my posts aren't welcome here, and if this post gets me banned, so be it. How utterly refreshing to finally read something written with compassion and understanding of what a horrid thing the Anthony family, and most especially Cindy, are struggling to deal with. I agree completely, Cindy's inability to accept reality is sad and pitiful. The woman needs emotional support, not ridicule and scorn. She's lost her grandchild for gosh sakes, a child that she obviously loved and adored. She is soon going to have to accept that her daughter is a murderer, capable of killing her own child. Perhaps some here could simply accept those things without batting an eyelash, obviously Cindy can't. Someone posted earlier that Cindy "deserves" everything that happens to her. It makes me shudder to see such a dark side of humanity. Who deserves to lose their granddaughter?

Everyone is so concerned about whether Casey might commit suicide. Cindy is the one I worry about. Stephen Grant's father killed himself because he couldn't live with knowledge of what his son had done....and he didn't have half the nation gleefully spewing venom at him.

Yes Cindy is acting frantic and "weird" according to some people. I'd be suspicious of her if she was acting any other way. That poor poor woman.

Thank you, Nicki, for showing me that I am not alone in extending my sympathy to Cindy. You're a good person.

Well, I second that emotion! I feel that this is something I might not be able to handle either. Add to that the swarm of media trampling on my lawn and flowers, shoving mics and cameras in my face 24/7.. I would be a nutcase.
Of COURSE Cindy is not going to come walking out today or tomorrow and tell them that yes, Casey is guilty of murder! They do not want to believe Caylee is dead, and they won't believe it until they see the body. Even then, they won't be able to accept that Casey is responsible.
None of us know how we would react in this same situation. There is no guide book for such things. I think my emotions would be all over the place.
No need to blame Cindy for how Casey turned out. They did the best they could. I'm sure they didn't PLAN to raise a sociopath or psychopath... they might not have known the signs. And sociopaths can hide their true selves to the rest of the world... look at Scott Peterson. Even Laci's family had no idea what he was capable of doing. Casey might have laid on the charm to her family and only let her true personality come out with a few friends.
I would not want to be in their shoes. I've lost loved ones... not children or grandchildren, but a stepson, and a niece and nephew. It is HARD to face the reality that they won't be coming back.
God Bless Little Caylee Marie!

I know Cindy is a irate right now, but could you imagine being in a home where your grand daughter is missing, presumed dead, and the very person who could have done it is right in your face and will not talk to you?
In my mind, when they say she isn't talking to anyone, I see her as being the kind who sits there with evil eyes, rolling eyes everytime you walk by, and just says nothing.
If I were Cindy, I would have already lost it..
I really hope this isn't the case and she is actually speaking to them.

I think the whole family in in agony except Casey, who is probably just pi**ed off that she's being inconvenienced by this whole thing. Unfortunately, this dysfunctional train was destined to derail. They should probably just drop one of those termite tents over the house and set off a librium bomb long ago. ;)

I agree, why give her a 48-hours heads up?

I think doing so was unwise. If she decides she can't run, she may try to kill herself. I hate to be cold, but she deserves to have to live with what she's done.

Hair Found in Car Trunk Reportedly Identified as Missing Toddler`s

Aired August 28, 2008 - 20:00:00 ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, GUEST HOST: Breaking news tonight, major bombshells as more disturbing forensic evidence comes back in the case that all of America has been tracking, the disappearance of that beautiful 3- year-old Florida girl named Caylee. She was last seen with her mother, Casey. Little Caylee has been missing for 10 long weeks.
Tonight, the case appears increasingly ghoulish and grim. The much- anticipated DNA results are finally in tonight and it is a bombshell. According to local affiliate WKMG, hair found in mom, Casey Anthony`s, car trunk appears -- and I say, appears -- to be little Caylee`s and appears to show signs of human decomposition. And of, course that is a very bad sign. All indications now point to 3-year-old Caylee as quite possibly dead. This on the heels of air samples taken from that same car trunk that also confirmed human decomposition. Plus, cadaver dogs hit on Casey Anthony`s car. Investigators now set to hand over these DNA results to prosecutors.

do you have a grandchild? How would you respond if your grandchild was missing and your daughter never waivered from "the nanny took her" story. Never waivered, and says I love you, I love her, if I knew where she was, this wouldn't be happening right now. Imagine, for a minute, this coming from your child's mouth.

That's all well and good. But when I ask her "Sweetheart, when did this happen" and she tells me 30 days ago and I haven't called the cops yet, she's gonna need protection - from me!

Agreed Tony has class, and Leonard too!!

Glad to hear Casey is going back to jail.

They are doing the right thing absolutely!!

Cindy's the tree, Casey's the Apple. Cindy is going to deny until the trial, during the trial and even after they sentence her daughter!!

good point. Can't argue with that. Added to the fact that she did say the car smelled like a dead body had been in there.
What can I say... I'm her age, I have grandkids, and a daughter. I get angry when people have no empathy, and bash and slash with their words. So I defend the underdog, it's who I am...sorry? I don't know these people. Caylee deserves justice. Bashing her gamma isn't justice or what she would want, ever! So there you go. It is what it is, I can change none of it.
I hope they find Caylee, and I hope Casey never gets out of jail, and certainly not until she's past way into menopause.
I hope Cindy and George can heal, and Lee gets married and gives them beautiful grandchilren, and they think of Caylee beyond all this horror that has become their lives and remember her and smile, and say things like remember when Caylee did this or that? If I were them I would be praying with all my heart that this was a nightmare that would quickly end. I would wake up and Caylee would be there, happy, and playing with her tea set and her stuffed animals that she loves. I feel so bad for them all. Well, not Casey. imo Casey has stolen more than money from Cindy and George, and great grandma and papa, and Uncle Lee. She has robbed them all of a lifetime of Caylee. Victims all, all except Casey.

Very true and I agree but one thing that is really burning me up is that there are dozens of missing children organizations in this country that are "starving" for funds. The padilla brothers ride into town and spend 100k under the ruse that there trying to find a missing child without even researching the case. If they did it would have been obvious to them that it was already to late for Caylee.

imo

Thank you Boston...

Add to that the extra law enforcement that has been added to watch the circus....

And perhaps this very family dynamic fed the dysfunction we are seeing now?

I have compassion as do many others here. But right and wrong is pretty clear cut. If this is how this family dealt with things....then I can surely see where the problems grew from.

Closing ranks and denying reality is an insult to that precious baby Caylee. It does their daughter Casey no possible good either...maybe a lesson learned 22 years too late, but they should make her take responsibilty for her actions.

I don't see Cindy denying reality as being an insult to Caylee. Just the opposite actually. The idea of losing the granddaughter she loves so much is more than Cindy can bear. I'm thankful that Caylee knew that kind of love for the brief amount of time she spent here on earth. Imagine what her short life would have been like if she'd had only Casey to care for her.

I just watched the re-airing of this. Good for Leonard for saying it like it is. He went with his gut. He got an education. The more I see of Uncle Leonard the more I like him.

Hey Tony, not much to say tonight but NICE SUIT....

Jane Valez-Mitchell needs to STFU. I mean give me a break. Nancy she is not. Who said she looked like a cockatoo? I can't look at her without putting a beak on her face!!

Good night WS'ers, I had so much fun in chat last night my sides still hurt!!
