You're right. The link to the news article is no longer valid, but (hopefully) here's where it was discussed:
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70252&highlight=animal+remains&page=9

You'll notice, if you read back a bit on that thread, that a whole lot of posters insisted in no uncertain terms that these dogs could not be wrong either.

I read the link. LE dogs are different than Gale the psychic hunter dogs. I am pretty sure that Gale the fraud, who is being brought up on charges of same, did not work and train her dogs accordingly..jmo

Maybe her dogs work on their own "sixth sense," on doggy visions or "premonitions..." j/k. Sorry, I must be bored lol.

On "slow news" days, the "left over" NG threads from the night before become general day discussion threads in a way...Maybe it's time to bring back a daily General Discussion thread during periods when there is little news???

I don't know if criminal cases are the same as civil cases when it comes to depositions. I live in Louisiana and work for a civil defense attorney. They do depositions before trial. The plaintiff atty is allowed to be there and can object "for the record" if a question is misleading or something. I didn't know this was not common practice amongst all states.

I would expect that of all the states, Louisiana would differ from others because they operate under the Napoleonic Code.

They did rule out animal.............He is either TOO STUPID to read the report or he is deliberately lying. Either way he is a fool, because both will come back to bite him in the butt in court.

Did they rule out animals? I thought I heard someplace it could be human or a pig. (not referring to Casey).

If you read back in the thread, you'll see that I said that right away, as soon as we learned that the dogs hit on something...and then I was told that her dogs were just as well trained as LE dogs and that I was mean for criticizing people who were trying to help. :waitasec:

wasn't another atty for either CA or GA there as well...and they told GA that it wasn't good for the LE dogs to hit...? (so many things blend after a bit)

You're talking about the LE dogs at the Anthony home, right? We're discussing a different incident that took place in the woods near the airport.

hee hee - thanks for the giggle even in the midst of this sadness...

You're welcome!:blowkiss:

I wondered if they had Casey on the brain when they ran a story on "Suicidal Squirrels!"

LOL @ the Casey barb haha.
I thought they ruled out the pig? could be wrong...those papers were way above the knowledge that I have.....

The FBI Report did not contain any findings which conclusively ruled out animal decomposition. I don't believe pigs were specifically ruled out, as the pig markers listed on page 9 are also human markers. I'm not certain about pigs, but I am certain that nothing in the report should be construed to mean animal decomposition has been ruled out. Kudos for questioning, IMO that report has taken on a completely new meaning since its release to the public.

I don't think "two dead squirrels crawled up under the hood of Casey's car and died there"-- primarily because dead squirrels don't crawl and also because, well...:waitasec:

But! If this is in re: to the discussion above, I asked TURBOTHINK to substantiate the claim that the FBI Report "ruled out" animal decomposition because I think the FBI Report is being misconstrued and overstated all over the place. These misconstructions are being inculcated as facts. Erroneously, IMO.
I see countless posts asserting that the FBI report concludes the hair sample could belong only to Casey or Caylee. I see countless posts asserting that the FBI Report explicitly rules out animal decomposition. These are not facts. Such statements are, IMO, misconstructions of the actual information contained within the FBI report.

I know you were probably just making a snarky aside :), sorry I had to bootstrap this post in here because the 400 Lb. Gorilla thread is gone and I await TURBOTHINK's reply. :woohoo:

omg LOLOL

As someone said the human markers and pig markers are similar. But besides looking at the verbal statements, you actually need to look at the statistical data in the reports. As I recall that seemed to be what was making Dr. Baden and a few other lawyer/comentators seem very impressed with how damning the FBI report is. The FBI reports will not normally state definitives beyond possible or probable, but the data gives you a good idea of what the odds of various things are. In this case the statistical data seems to pretty clearly point at dead human body in the trunk, and dead member of the Anthony's matriarchal line.

Now is it within the absolute odds of probability that it could have been a dead decomposing pig in the trunk... maybe. But is anyone missing a pig? We do however have a missing child. Directly tied to the vehicle and the operator of the vehicle.

While each element or test may simply offer a result or "possible" or a probability of the results being human decomposition and Caylee. The tests are reported individually, with no relationship to one another. At the prosecution level the tests are brought together in agrogate, and at that point the tests are no longer unrelated. ie a chemical test showing 80% chance of human decomposition + a human hair showing probable death bands + air tests showing 80% of decomposition markers + mitochondrial DNA showing a specific pool of individuals (that match those associated with the vehicle + an actual missing member of the individuals having that Mitochondrial DNA profile + etc etc = a far greater probability then 80% that there was a decomposing body in the car and that it was Caylee. The "possible" results are at the end not independent, regardless of what the defense paid witness (Kobe) may attempt to make folks believe. They are ultimately additive.

Psychic dogs are not trained the same way as cadaver dogs. There is no comparison at all.
