I don't know..some one posted they thought she went back home.
That was my post which they responded to, but I wasn't sure what they meant.

I just referred to a post I thought I saw saying she had left AZ, but I might be mistaken. It might have been in an article. I was just asking them which part they were referring to, or my comment about it. I think they misunderstood me

I remember hearing that too but I would be stunned if she's left AZ already.

She will be there for some time. I hope it is not family but what an awful deal which makes this even worse.

<modsnip> This article was updated an hour ago and .."The authorities said they had spoken with Ms. Guthrie’s family members and that they were all cooperative, Sheriff Nanos said."

BBM - "Ms. Guthrie was taken from her home near Tucson, Ariz., against her will sometime between 9:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday morning, the authorities said. No suspects have been identified, and Sheriff Nanos said there was “no credible information” indicating that Ms. Guthrie was specifically targeted."

It looked like drops of blood to me, not angled since they appeared to be mostly round. As if it dripped from a cut hand or something like that, I did not see anything that looked like spray, but the video was not very clear.
agree

also, few if any of them appear to have been smeared or stepped in. I wonder if that's true of the entire trail. either way, I think it constrains scenarios.

if this is dripping from a hand or nose, and she's walking under her own power, with the perp(s) behind her, it's not impossible to leave an entire trail of undisturbed drops (assuming that's what we have here), but it strikes me as unlikely. it's making me picture her being carried, specifically with her head rearward. maybe thrown over someone's shoulder? or two perps carrying her that way?

Or walking under threat. She can walk, just not for a distance.

<modsnip> ... they would be able to run a fine tooth comb over everything, including purchases, movements the smallest blood evidence in any places away from the home, cell phone activity (or lack thereof which can be just as concerning like when some perpetrators leave their phone at home intentionally), change in routine, absences, etc. Its harder when there isn't a suspect, but as soon as there is, the floodgates can open very quickly

<modsnip: Quoted poast was removed>

Hard to put into words exactly, and trying to be mindful not to sleuth family. Thinking a few things here.

Wondering what went on at dinner and game night. Could an argument have taken place?

How many people dropped NG off that night, 1 or 2? Wondering if it’s proven that these people actually left at said time (or if they stayed until say, when Apple Watch stopped picking up pacemaker).

Smashed cameras sound like someone not only wanted to destroy evidence, but was enraged.

Not a victim of domestic violence directly, but having experienced it in a form, I wonder what the relationship was. Sometimes, when a person is living in a DV situation, those who are in their immediate inner circle, safety is threatened and used as leverage. For example, if you leave me, or discuss this, I’ll cause harm to your sister, mother, best friend ———-fill in the blank.

Also, some people who live in DV situations are embarrassed and feel shame and don’t tell their family about their situation. In many cases, immediate family members (like a sibling or a parent) might not even be aware of what goes on behind their family members closed doors.

I have not read anywhere that this is the case in this situation. Just putting my thoughts here for the sake of discussion.

Something that made me pause too, was why wait an hour to call the police once you noticed your loved one was missing? Trying not to judge. Trying to give benefit of the doubt here because people react differently under stress.

I thought about that, but you might still expect her to step on the drops herself in a scenario where the perp is walking next to or ahead of her.

I guess it depends on whether we're talking about a nose or a hand. nose, I'd expect some disturbed drops and then tracks. hand, maybe no disturbance like that, but then I'd expect the drops to hug one side of the walkway -- wish I knew whether we had that here.

Good policy- None of what she reported may be true, or it may lack the needed context...for example the BIL and daughter may have volunteered to have their car searched and LE went to the trouble to get a warrant and tow it to avoid any issues down the road.
I know that Banfield keeps saying that her and Savannah are good friends, but I thought I read somewhere that they're REALLY good friends. Could this be another situation like Friedman where maybe she's being fed information to provide to the public?

How often does kidnapping of an 84 year old happen. Period. ?
How often is the mother of a famous news anchor kidnapped. Period?
How do you know exactly what a cartel would do or not???
I simply stated an opinion/ option.

Secondly, I think it’s despicable what is being said on this thread about Nancy’s son in law. I think it is honestly victim bashing and blaming someone who thoroughly loves his mother in law and has been left devastated. Of course they are looking at the closest male. In this case he’s a quirky, sensitive academic who might well play mahjong with his mother in law on a regular basis and may cook her lovely dinners regularly too.
In my opinion, he’s a wonderful son in law. Europeans take care of their own in many cases and cherish their elderly a lot more than some other cultures who want them out of sight/ mind.
Whoever said he will be deported should remove their nasty post. He’s very obviously a contributing member of our society. I have the greatest respect for teachers and this one is intelligent enough to teach advanced placement biology classes. He is a gifted, kind person from what I’m reading.

The ransom note seems a little too convenient for me. Who’s asking, a “small foreign faction”? We all know that the vast majority of these cases are more personal than that.

If Savannah left Arizona, I don’t blame her. She may feel her presence is a distraction to LE efforts. I'm sure she wants to support family in AZ, like her sister, However, I think of myself after the shock of this starts to wear off the rage that would start to build in me over my mother being harmed, likely deceased at this point. I'm sure her investigative mind is working nonstop. If it were me, I'd want privacy and space to think clearly and be with my own team. IMO

I thought the victim here was Nancy Guthrie?
On WS the definition of victim includes family members, not limited to the actual victim of the crime.

Exactly. I am predicting a similar outcome.

Savannah Guthrie's friends and colleagues are offering their support as the search continues for the "Today" show host's mom, Nancy Guthrie, who investigators say appears to have been kidnapped from her Arizona home. The 84-year-old was last seen Saturday night, and investigators believe she was abducted in her sleep early Sunday morning, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said. A motive is not known, with Sheriff Chris Nanos saying Tuesday, "We're looking at all leads."

Oh -- I stand corrected! I guess I was looking at it from a purely black/white angle. Mea culpa.

BBM:

"Arizona police still have no suspects in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, despite reports that key individuals had been identified in the hunt for the missing mom of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie.

“At this time, no suspects have been identified. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results,” a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told The Post Wednesday morning."

There are still no suspects in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, police announce

I'm waiting for the arrest, I'll give it two weeks, it will be a family member.
