FWIW I have my elderly mother's neighbors’ numbers as well. They have mine too.

For years I had my mom's neighbors number because it was the same number and neighbors as we had growing up. Once they both passed I didn't have any until one day my mom gave me the neighbor on the other side's number. Other than that, I didn't have her church family's numbers (and I assume they didn't have mine?).

LE bringing dogs is never a good thing.

They MUST of had dogs from the get go, I would THINK. They may be focusing the dog on a certain area now that they've discovered some info. I don't know how far where they are focusing is from NG's front door/close area to her house. IMO

Follow up would be what he could say at this point, as it really is. What they are following up on is the 'thing' to come. Remember they did take NG's son in law's car today too. Did they find her DNA in it? Awful, awful. IMO

IMO no, and no. You're not going to bring in dogs for those things. I don't know if the family departure this AM and a second look at the home are connected or not.

The picture of the blood splattering and drops bother me; and, what appears to be a couple of stems of flowers. I would pick flowers along my walkway into my home even if it’s just a few.

It’s almost as if she was hit/pushed entering the home, stretched her arms out to brace for the fall and left the flowers. While trying to stand the blood droplets began appearing.

I tried imagining it as if she was exiting the home, but the position of the flower stems does not make sense, nor does the blood splatter.

Is this type of flower along the pathway into her home?

It’s a little blurry but it looks like boxwood bush stems to me. I have no idea if a boxwood would live in a desert area. We have them here in zone 6b.

I lived in Tucson for years and have children that live there now, so I'm confused by the mentions of being rural and unpopulated.

Catalina Foothills is a suburb of the Tucson metropolitan area. I wouldn't consider it unpopulated, it's merely an upscale neighborhood at the base of the mountains with large desert lots, larger homes, and suburban. It's close to trails, resorts, golf, etc.

It's merely 7 miles from the University of Arizona which has 50,000 students.

Semantics, I suppose.

A long-time neighbor of NG herself called it “rural” ("This is how rural we are," Wombat said.“), the context being that black bears come into their neighborhood.

hmmm "just doing follow up" days after releasing it back to the family. I think he is telling porkies here. Clearly something has happened for there to be that many officers there, dogs there again and crime scene tape back up.

Given how unpopulated that area is I wonder how many cell towers there are in the area to pinpoint location.

I mentioned this upthread, but please remember that this is a suburban neighborhood even though it might feel rural in setting. With acre-sized lots, ths area isn't as densely populated as the city of Tucson, but there are streets, and cohesive neighborhoods, and houses every acre or so. There's a mall and restaurants close by. Tucson is very sprawly in nature, particularly with neighborhoods of this vintage. The Catalina Foothills isn't what would be considered "rural" and low-population by local urban-planning standards.

Different dogs...different training. I guess it depends on what they're searching for. Do we know if today's dog is the same one brought out earlier?
