I’m still stuck on SIL, but my primary reason is because he was the last person to see her. LE/SIL know when he arrived home and it would clear up the suspicion if he was publicly cleared, but there’s a reason why they haven’t. The searches at their home too, maybe only because Nancy was there Saturday night? Or other evidence we know nothing about? Would LE/FBI go through the trouble to search just to throw people off the track? I don’t think so.

Do you have a garage? Time it. It takes ~15 seconds for a standard residential garage door to open. That gives NG a minute and 45 seconds to walk into the garage and hit the button to close it.

A minute and 45 seconds to walk a couple car lengths into the garage is an eternity. It would take a fully able person 5 seconds. There’s no reason to think NG couldn’t shuffle into the garage within the reported time. There’s nothing “cold” or suspicious about it. MOO

This Sheriff bumbled the investigation from the start IMO, and I am enormously pro LE. I believe he initially thought she had just wandered off and would be shortly found. He released the crime scene way too early, and didn't contact the FBI for 2 days. He's not inexperienced, having been in law enforcement for many years.

He should have known better and is now being defensive at the expense of Nancy Guthrie. Any DNA processing should have been sent to FBI's HQ in Quantico, VA for a faster turnaround instead of sending it to his 'usual lab' in FL. His embarrassment and ego has lead to wasted precious time.

I believe this was an unprofessional home invasion/kidnapping for ransom that turned horribly wrong when something happened to Nancy and they could not produce POL. It makes me sad to think this is what she endured during her last hours on earth, alone and scared. I hope they find these idiots and give them the ultimate punishment. AZ has the DP:

Yes, I read the article and most of the quotes were from a former detective from San Jose. However, there is no link to which investigators indicated the following:

Apologies in advance… how exactly did DC find contact information for the Guthries? He texted one and called a different one for 9 seconds or minutes? So this random individual living in another state obtains what I would assume to be unpublished phone numbers/email addresses (?) for at least two separate relatives of NG and this is written off as a hoax because why? Idk at this point where or even if I saw it was due to info being wrong or something in the communications? I get that there are [link removed] opportunists but I also feel there may be some credence to these letters. I’m not convinced he isn’t involved.

The grandiose displays of power and force shown by LE and FBI looks like a military parade. Is that really how LE acts on a tip? I have to honest I don’t really like “this” FBI is involved because it really looks more like the showboating I’ve sadly become used to recently. Read that how you want. I think they already solved this and this poor family is just a pawn. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with this sheriff, I think he walked into a hot mess. I think he must have gone somewhere after he dropped NG off and that may be what is sticky, here. I hope that he has been truthful with investigators with all the details and contacts, if that is what happened. I am not excluding him and likely, investigators are not, either. If he is named as a suspect down the road, I'll be sad, but for now, everyone and no one is a suspect. JMO

Yes, credible leads need to be followed up on, but there should be a source of evidence before storming a person's home. I hope police have been throughly vetting everything, before acting. I am sure that the excess media attention is fueling some desperation here for LEO.

Hoping that the law enforcement is doing due diligence.

What was happening in NG home during that 30 mins between the Nest doorbell footage and her pacemaker disconnecting? This seems quite a long time. Were they looking for something? Were they discussing what was happening with Nancy? Did she have time to get anything to take with her? (If so, you'd hope someone would've noticed this)
I'm just trying to imagine that scene - if NG was fast asleep, it would be terrifying - and might take a while to "come to" and realise it isn't a nightmare.

LE runs the DNA and then looks for familial match. If that fails then perhaps give the public more info so it can be solved. Who has uber pick up their Mother when she lives that close?

Pacemakers that communicate with iPhones over Bluetooth use Bluetooth LE (low energy). Here’s an example of a device designed to identify and help locate Bluetooth LE devices at greater distances:

There are others. Bluetooth devices (even before the now-ubiquitous low-energy versions of Bluetooth) are designed to filter out noisy, low-strength signals. This device does the opposite, amplifying and cleaning them.

I would like to add because of the circus the SO has created, people across the country are tuning out. It has even been said on here-I need to take a break from this case.

Agreed. Anyone working at dealership would’ve had access to keys. Throw a dealer plate on and you’re ready to go.
If they’re getting vehicle ready for sale then you have mechanics, detailers, porters and others working to get in ready.

If this was a burglary, did they know what they wanted to take ahead of time (been inside the home previously or told by someone else what she had)? Did they take anything with them? Did the family know what was missing? I don’t think this was random at all and the kidnapping was planned, the ransom I think is separate. I thought two separate groups related somehow. So many different questions and thoughts about this case.

Maybe it started as a home invasion and then once they saw who Nancy was related to (SG) by family pictures, etc they thought they could kidnap her and hold her for a bigger $$$ bitcoin ransom. This seems so unorganized to me, yet we have no arrests yet. Soon I think and hope.
