First time poster so be gentle, and I apologize if someone has already speculated on this or if my speculation isn’t allowed. Re JM or anyone who has publicly inserted themselves into the media conversation by locating themselves near dear NG’s, it occurred to me that this could be to provide an alibi should their DNA be found near the scene. A covering of bases approach. Might also be why some on here have suggested shoes being worn looking similar to those in video - in case a positive match was found it would, again, provide a rationale. “Of course there’s a match, I have been present here trying to help etc, etc”. Still hoping for resolution, this case has left me heartbroken for her beloved family. MOO

WELCOME, @Keep it as a thought

A very thoughtful first post! And clearly, you’ve read the rules here. Using initials and MOO!

We are all heartbroken and despairing as well, as this case is so irregular and confusing.

I believe that NG is already dead and has been for some time.
Does anyone know if there's any blood spatter inside the home?
The blood on the porch looks like a concentration of high velocity spatter in a tight area and then round blood drops leading down the way. That suggests to me that she was standing in one place with blood dripping straight down and then moving quite slowly away from the front porch. There also seems to be part of a shoe print in the blood. Some kinda print anyway.
I know we're all talking about other things right now but that's really puzzling me.

Yes, Michael Ruiz’s explanation of the APS card still leaves even more questions.

The day she was reported missing a neighbor called Adult Protective Services,” [Sheriff Nanos] he says. “They sent an investigator to check on her.”

This confirms the report was made AFTER her suspected abduction.”

So:

What prompted the neighbor to make the call that day she was reported missing (which would have been Feb 1, Sunday).

Just some of my thoughts, no basis. This makes my mind swirl—

Did the neighbor hear voices or something that led them to believe she was being abused by someone familiar to her? As in, something like, “No, I won’t go with you!!” (not knowing at the time NG was actually saying that to a kidnapper). jmo

Did the neighbor’s mind go to the abuse angle rather than a kidnapping because it’s a safe neighborhood and nothing close to this has ever happened before? Jmo

Just seems odd to call APS over 911.

JMO

I am positive this question has been asked, but could the abductor/anductors work for APS, or pretend to?

Maybe the person really develops unhealthy interest in her age group, then it might be like with those being interested in kids working at places that puts them in close contact with kids. If a person has interest in the elderly, it would be group homes, memory care or places like APS.

It is interesting if the call was registered, it should be. Whose phone it came from? Was the person who left the card the same who visited NG? Cards are not difficult to get.

“JSA declined to comment when asked about the Guthrie family’s connection to the jewelry industry, or what had prompted it to offer a reward in the high-profile abduction case, which has been dominating the headlines for the last two weeks.”

I don't think there have really been any details about the inside of the home released

Possibly a Church friend, who did not want to embarrass her by calling 911, and called APS instead to do a welfare check.
The neighbor must have demanded it very urgently, if APS paid a visit so promptly. MOO

If she was on anticoagulant and her PTinr was not monitored tightly, or, like with the newer meds, not at all, her blood thinners might have done too good of a job. That would change the amount/pattern of the bleeding. The whole reason it could have ended tragically was because Nancy was on anticoagulants and prone to bleeding. Sorry. I was thinking about it from day one. I don’t think she is alive, I am not sure they planned murder. I think people can have a heart attack from merely seeing the apparition. My husband thinks it looks like a mask and not scary, but I disagree. The mere view of this person make me very angry with them because poor Nancy could have fainted and even this could have been fatal.

I checked: University of AZ has a 6-weeks module program. Not like typical quarters. I would assume winter break to be over by Jan 30 in most colleges but AZ is an outlier. I can see someone being in the dorm in Phoenix, or even having a semester abroad now, is quite possible. Again, JMO.

I just don't think the intruders were that sophisticated, to use a jammer. Their way of dealing with the front door NEST camera was to manhandle it off the base. But not until after the camera had already gotten a photo/video of one of the intruders.

JMO
If he had a jammer, he might’ve thought the camera was jammed at the time. That could explain his lackadaisical attitude toward having his image recorded.

also, judging from Google street view, residential cameras won't cover much beyond their immediate vicinity. tall vegetation, 1 story houses, and flattish landscape mean there aren't a lot good lines of sight.

come to think of it, you can see why a home invader would pick this neighborhood. ...if we take away the assumption that getting to NG was the whole point.
Roof cameras may fair 'better', again when they are 'installed' by home owners, there will be reason for installing them and the camera installers will give 'recommendations'.

I have also thought about Nancy's blood issues and how bad her wound was.

That's crazy because my male friend also said it's not scary. I didn't believe him but perhaps he's not?

What do you suppose the two headed looking thing in his backpack is? Could it be a jammer? You might have to play with the photo to see it but it's center and in the outer pocket I think.

Anyone who's listening to scanners know what's going on in Tucson right now?

Manhunt?

NG isn't the only crime in Tucson right now. Whenever, we got copters flying like this in my neighborhood, it's because theives tore out the ATM machine. Finally, Walgreens got rid of the ATM machine. It was too much of a liability.

I'm not saying it's specifically an ATM machine, because the range is fairly broad. They are very like pursuing a fleeing criminal. Maybe there was a shooting and the suspect fled.

If they were searching for NG or her pacemaker, they would do it during day light. They need to be able to visualize.

Do you have an idea what may have caused those marks? They go around to the front of the house. In various other pictures of that area it is just the street. There is no sign of any trash or recycle bins in that particular area.

I imagined myself seeing it in the middle of the night. I’d say, very scary. But my husband immediately said, “just a dude in a mask”. A masked dude on my doorstep in the middle of the night is scary.

omg! if a man is uninvited on my doorstep trying to gain access to my house, that’s scary. wearing something to alter his countenance… i’m sorry, that’s an S-tier nightmare. poor NG, no one deserves this
