About the only reasons I can think of, for them to kidnap Nancy was that she recognized at least one of them ?
They had to know it was a risk with an elderly woman who wasn't in the best of health ?

The focus it would seem should be on anyone she had contact with; as in paying someone for work done in and around the house.
IF it was someone completely unknown to her, they would've most likely tied or restrained her and taken her phone, maybe threatened her and then left the house with whatever they could steal.
I keep going back to the start of this and thought I'd read that nothing was taken, so again this is such a strange and sad case.
Kidnapping for ransom is low on my list atm.

Omo.

I'm confused. What makes you certain LE didn't take info in the first ransom note into consideration? Wondering if I missed something.

They were responding to my post. I should have stated LE should "focus" on the radius mentioned in the first ransom note. I didn't mean to imply that they didn't even try to.

He’s saying here that the radius is based on the ransom note’s promise to return Nancy to Tucson within a certain time after payment. In a later video (because time invariably loosens Harvey’s lips), he reveals the specified time to be twelve hours. The radius is huge, crossing into adjacent states.

Curious if they've been successful in weeding out those just taking advantage of this situation, as opposed to a viable lead ?
Imo.

That night, was the moon was full, and so bright! I live in an area with almost no ambient light, and it was amazingly bright. I wonder if that light helped the cameras? And I wonder if that light also was a reason for the kidnapping that specific night. I have really wondered if they used that moon light for some specific reason.

Full moon helps. But not too much on IR cameras.

They need bright bright light and they have a very limited reach for detail (Latanas man was just feet outside of the brick vestibule on the Nest footage w/backpack off and he's completely washed out. A few feet back and he's but a shadow).

I hike my woods in a full moon, especially if there's snow down to reflect, then you see shadows of the trees, cool and eerire. . But the trail cams still come up looking similar in the IR glow. Remember the IR is emitted from the camera, it has a cone of range and dissipates further back. They sell IR emitters which are basically big IR flood lights that help but nothing, and I mean nothing substitutes for bright lighting so they record in regular mode w/ detail and color.

Both trailcam pics with IR are taken under a full moon. You can see how IR pics are dependent on close distance for detail (and see the delineated edge of the IR range in the second pic)

LE needs to look for Nancy in the certain radius that the ransom author mentions in the first note. Harvey Levin told Anderson Cooper, "They as much as say she is, that uh, she is in a certain radius."

Wasn't that 12 hours? That's more than a 600 mile radius, IMO.

Until that creeper is caught and explains what he/she was doing on Nancy's porch that morning, I am going to hold out hope that she could still be alive.

Indeed, as all of us are. But hope aside, where are the unyielding pleas from family and law enforcement and the appeals to media to stay and keep this case in the public eye? Why are law enforcement - and even the President himself! - telling media that they pretty much need to move on to another story?

To be clear - this is not a dig in any way at the family, because we can extrapolate from reports and from their media appearances that they have been meticulously managed throughout all of this.

But to what end?

I have wondered the same, whether she might have had cash on hand to pay the roofers or any handyman that might have recently done work for her. Or visited her safe deposit box to remove a piece of jewelry to gift to a friend or family member.

This could be easily verified by the FBI by looking at cash withdrawals and/or visits to her safe deposit box.

I have also wondered about purpose of the gun. It wasn't fired (at least we have not heard to the contrary). Maybe it's sole purpose was to threaten NG into disclosing the locations of valuables in her home.

This one has me puzzled.

IMO the placement of the holster was intentional and threatening. It was meant to be SEEN, perhaps not necessarily used.
There’s a possibility the gun may not even be real, it just needed to look real enough to NG. MOO

I know it isn't true but at times it feels like we are the only ones invested. Of course nobody is more invested than Nancy's family obviously but I feel like maybe they have been told something that they don't feel the need to keep getting in front of the camera any longer? I hope that isn't the case but if it was my family I would be on the tv until they were sick of hearing me.

Here is Harvey explaining the 700 mile radius.

  • #36,410
That is an interesting theory, no "proof of life" because the entire kidnapping went wrong. And NG died. Makes sense. Don't kidnap elderly, medically fragile people. Idiots.

700 mile radius according to Harvey Levin.

That is why we are encouraged to link things here because people can make a mistake by just going on memory alone which is what I did.

I know that if I was told exactly what to say, when to say it, and who to say it to, for going on three weeks now, and law enforcement kept suggesting to everyone that they don't have much information or any indication as to motive or identity of the perpetrator, and that they'd prefer media and the public to move on and get back to their lives, I would be livid. Vein-popping-better-hold-me-back-from-someone livid.

Even not knowing her personally, I wished I could do more to try to help find her.

700 mile radius? That is 2,100 miles.

North: going on the I-15, that is almost 11 hours, to Salt Lake City, UT.

South: that goes deep into Mexico, Jalisco, Copper Canyon area.

East: I-10 to Houston, TX

West: 1-10, Los Angeles, CA.

That is a huge amount of space.

The states you mention seem to align with the FBI digital billboard placements.

This is close to Nancy's neighbourhood.
An attempted kidnapping in september.
Could it be a random deranged individual after all? 🤔

I'm starting to think it's targeted against the family with the intent of inflicting maximum pain on the survivors of NG.

And think of the Instagram post when SG intimated that they wanted to "celebrate" with mom. I think that was a lightly veiled plea for her remains.

Someone killed their mom and took away the body so they couldn't even have a funeral. How brutal and punishing.

that was amazing to point out the differences. Thank you!

Is this legit? And if it is, did they find the attempted kidnapper. Scary.
