How were LD and KD ( second raid, grey RR) affiliated with NG?
One of my theories is a low level drug dealer was at NG’s house (construction or maintenance), and NG saw something she shouldn’t have. Perps wanted to make sure NG couldn’t talk to police, made sure she was gone.
LD was picked up for drugs.

Not saying it is related. But a neighbor lost her temper with searchers and wrongly accused them of filming her house. It was a crazy over reaction. Maybe people are fried. Not a normal reaction. JMO. The searchers were on a public road.

I’m thinking it was Jan 11. Makes sense why they want footage from that date. The perp looks the same, no backpack or gun holster, but jacket looks different to me.
I’m guessing he was doing some recon the first time he visited, but the gloves throw me off. Why wear gloves? Seems unnecessary to just canvas the area. Maybe he had the gun and backpack in his car, but decided not to go through with it that night. MOO

There really seems to be incomplete information, but if it was days it could be he was casing the place, doing a practice run, or was going to do it and aborted for some reason. Obviously he was in the area longer (local, extended stay),

I agree it is strange that he had a very similar get up if he was only casing the place or reconning it. But the atypical choices seem to be a pattern with this guy,

So I was doing some research, and I think the image of Lantana Man without the backpack wasn't recovered from Google's backend servers, but might have been recovered from Nancy's phone.

The reason I suspect this is if you look at the image, it is of lower quality (and smaller image size) in comparison to the still images from the Nest footage. If Nest sends push notifications with an image attached (which I believe it does), then the image could have shown up temporarily on Nancy's phone via notifications before it was overwritten a few hours later by other notifcations coming in on Nancy's phone. Because she didn't have a subscription, she wouldn't be able to check (or even be aware) what that notification was. However, because the image showed briefly on her phone as a thumbnail, it could have been saved--but in a place that she probably never looked, the cache. But someone with some technical knowledge would be able to find these thumbnails, and there might even be more of Lantana Man we didn't see.

Similiar methods have been done before. In the case of Cari Farver, LE was able to recover thumbnail images off of Liz Goylar's (her convicted murderer's) wiped SD card. One of the small thumbnail images appeared to be a part of Cari's body, and probably helped with Liz Goylar's conviction.

I wouldn't be surprised LE has more, but they are probably small 'thumbnail style' images from Nancy's notifications, similar to the one where he is without his backpack. They might have been holding back on sharing them because they would only be still images, with few identifying features. It was only when they were able to recover video from Google's backend they felt like they had enough to share. JMO.

As more time goes on, the more I return to my original theory - failed kidnap for ransom.

This person targeted NG, knowing SG was her daughter and could extort the family for millions. But NG had a medical event or this person was too rough with her and she passed away. Then they panicked and tried to stick to the plan, but couldn’t provide proof of life. JMO

The fact there have been no further arrests related to the ransom notes is important IMO. Whoever sent them clearly spent an extensive amount of time and effort making themselves untraceable.

Unfortunately, with all the information regarding ancestral DNA and the extreme media coverage, I’m concerned this person may have taken their own life or left the country. JMO

I appreciate all the different theories posited on this (very lengthy) thread, as I respect everyone’s opinions.

But I, too, believe the original theory of a targeted kidnap. I think the first ransom note sent to TMZ was likely real, with the sophisticated Bitcoin demand.

I also believe Nancy has passed away, and likely early in this disaster, since as far as we know no proof of life has ever been sent.

Very little in this atrocious saga has made sense, but it still seems to me that NG was in fact abducted because she is known in Tucson as the mother of a celebrity, one who is watched 5 days a week by millions of people, and is wealthy enough to pay a ransom of $6,000,000.

And ideally for a kidnapper, NG lived alone in an isolated area with very little light.

Possibly she was kidnapped just before the Olympics because Savannah was going to co-host, and the kidnappers thought the timing would bring extra attention and put more pressure on Savannah.

I would be perfectly happy to be wrong, but none of the other theories land with me.

I would most especially be thrilled to be wrong about Nancy being dead, but I do fear that clock has ticked all the way down.

These are the supported facts:

LD and his mother's home was raided by federal SWAT due to a federal judge issuing a federal search warrant that requires the highest threshold of probable cause to obtain.

LD and his mother, a trained medical provider who may or may not still practice, were detained along with one more person. This was confirmed publicly by LD's attorney.

Even though a denial was issued by said attorney, as all attorneys tend to do for their clients, LE has not cleared LD nor anyone associated with that particular SWAT raid and federal warrant.

The RR LD was driving was seized and is reportedly still being processed for evidence related to this case.

LD has a known felony record and extensive criminal past.

It's def NOT cold. That is who SG was addressing I believe in her response, do the right thing... you are not alone. Someone is 'trapped' and hoping for a safe way out. Someone that knows and beyond afraid of the suspect/s as well as 'losing their freedom'.. Makes sense for a while. IMO

My thoughts/questins on the reports that one still pic was from an earlier date than the morning of NG’s disappearance…
1) ABC & CBS & BE & KOLD are all saying almost the same thing - a source told them - though some say a source close to the investigation and at least one says a law enforcement source - most say that Nanos said that info did not come from the sheriff department or the FBI - most say they reached out to FBI but FBI had no comment - according to one poster above ABC Nightly News was the exception to this and said the FBI confirmed it
2) What are the chances that all of these news reports being so similar? Doesn’t it seem odd they say almost the same way? Is it possible only one of them actually spoke to a source and the rest are reporting it as their own?
3) What are the chances that all of a sudden multiple sources either in LE or familiar with the case speak to these various news outlets on the same day more than a week after the vids & pics were released?
4) What are the chances that a single source decided to contact multiple news agencies on the same day to tell them all the same thing? Or did said source just hold a mini-press conference and tell them all at once?
5) I wish I would have seen the ABC Nightly News as I am curios whether the anchor or a field reporter is the one who said the FBI confirmed it. Who at the FBI? Was the source an FBI agent who wasn’t supposed to be speaking for them?
6) FBI Director KP said on the 10th they were all from the morning NG disappeared - though one poster above commented that if they were different dates it was that they thought one was before midnight but same event - I tend to agree with that poster but don’t really have a good reason for thinking that lol
7) Was KP misinformed? Was he mistaken? Was he lying?
8) Why would they not disclose that info the day the pics & vids were released? Why won’t they officially confirm or deny it now? And why no timestamp? I’m not familiar with Nest but my Ring would have time stamp - and no I don’t have a current subscription either but I still have a timestamp - does Nest not do that?
9) Is it possible they only found out themselves that it was a different day today? If so does that give us some hope that more info might still be being found from that camera?
10) Why is that nothing - NOTHING - in this case makes sense?
