IMO, they are hoping for someone who has heard or seen something but was not "involved". Like a GF (or ex GF) or friend or parent. In the Tracey Harris cases there was a person(Dawn Beasley) who stayed silent for 30 years because her own husband, who was not a POI, was the killer.
But why is that million dollar reward not bringing this person forward?

I'm recalling a lot of cases where nothing moved forward until someone talked -- and often not even for any reward.

(for example in the Pamela Smart case, an anonymous call to LE came from a pizzaria worker who had been told by a delivery driver that another worker (a minor) was Pam Smart 's student and had said knew she'd known about the crime in advance, and had been in on the murder for the life insurance money. Of course broke the case wide open.)

With the way the sheriff mixes things up, it could also be 'what she was wearing that night' meant that she wasn't wearing her watch.

IMO just something to consider.
Thank you. True, but who wears their watch at night, especially if it has to be charged - if that’s the case. I would have expected to hear they knew things only NG would know. Makes me really question whether she was still with us - that night.

ALL IMO

Many wear smart watches at night for the sleep tracking features. They only need charging once a week or so

One of the many interviews with Maureen as a guest, she mentioned that the Lantana man was high too. How she knows that is a good question, but she is an expert, not me.
I think he made himself laugh when he crushed the Santana and held it to the lens, I said before like a duper's delight.

Oh yes! All of that. He has all this unrealized potential but is stuck. He never went to the prom. He wrote love letters to his 6th grade fantasy puppy love full of phrases like star crossed lovers, yet he never sent them. He lived vicariously. Kind of like the girl who’s always the bridesmaid and never the bride. He has fantasized about various women but never acted on it. He’s no longer able to suppress his longing and desire. Snatch Ng. Get SG attention and pay me for all I’ve missed out in my life. Although I still think the money is secondary and just part of his dramatic performance. Jmo. Ps. Wanna get together and self publish some trashy romance novels, Cryptic???
I was thinking there was a book.

Nobody is coming forward because only 1 person involved. He's such a freak he likely has no friends or contact with his family. He probably does odd jobs or yard work to make a living. This means he's currently interacting with other elderly people in the area maybe in the same neighborhood. Let that sink in.

Physical anthropologist here (initial training). Pelvis shape and femur attachment (which shape hip flexion significantly and gait somewhat) are the anatomical features that can reliably distinguish male from female. Height, weight, muscle mass, and skull features are secondary indicators. Based on pelvis shape and hip flexion, LG is male.

"Look at the pelvis shape": every physical anthro lab.
Have you looked at the Missy Bevers video?

So this isn't my top theory, in fact I used to mostly discount it, but what if it is something akin to the Chris Baghsarian kidnapping in Australia? Maybe the kidnapper was after some criminal's grandma who lives in the area, whether for ransom or revenge, and somehow ended up at the wrong address (hired a local doofus to carry it out, or there were several layers of outsourcing between whoever ordered it and the actual kidnapper). In Australia, I understand that the target family reported the communications received from the kidnappers to the police, but maybe this target didn't. Or if the kidnapping was for revenge, maybe no communications were sent.

Now LE is looking for a connection between the kidnapper and NG/her house/the Guthrie family, but maybe there is none.

Found Deceased - Australia - Chris Baghsarian, 85, Sydney, Kidnapped 13 February 2026 *arrests*
I just recalled a case that illustrates that exactly. A junk removal company did a job at the house of a wealthy gun collector. Some how they became aware of the extent of his collection, and one guy sold this info to a couple dudes, who did a home invasion on the named street at the named address.

But this street was in Lower Merion TWP. The correct street and house were, I believe, in Hatfield TWP

Sadly, they were violent to the elderly homeowner in an attempt to get the firearms, and killed her son. The mom is permanently paralyzed.

Both men were convicted last year. I cannot recall how they were identified.)

So yes-such things happen.

Exactly. Proof of life could so easily have been established without photos JMO.

I think because it’s either a loner or a very close knit couple of some kind. Be that romantic or platonic but in it together and only they know. Also, someone may know and just be scared to talk and think it’s not worth a million. Just a few months ago I think the FBI was offering 15 million for Ryan James Wedding, the former olympic snowboarder that since been caught and 2 million for his associates. Maybe someone is sick enough to think they’ll raise the ransom and trying to hold out for more money. I don’t think so but also No idea.
I also do believe some people are talking (informing) to investigators to get some heat off themselves and also I imagine they’ve gotten some good tips called or reported in. We won’t know till it’s over

I think that’s right. I don’t have the energy to find it now, but there was a clip on TMZ of Levin and a colleague talking about the ransom note. They said it talked about what NG was wearing and then up flashed a text correction (by the TMZ editors) that said, “what she was NOT wearing.” I took that to mean the watch. It’s not precise, I know.

Perhaps someone can find the clip. I’ve exceeded my lifetime TMZ quota in a single month.

Right around the 29:30 mark, the two guests were asked about the reason LE is going to all the neighbors again. Jim talked about how many, many times, the perp may be one of the first persons they've spoken to and they need to revisit those people from the early days with fresh eyes after going through the evidence and tips that has come in since then. Maureen also mentioned that if they have a feeling about someone, they are not going to go talk to just that one person, but they'll go to 30 people to ask the questions to not raise suspicion.

Very interesting. I can remember cases where a person spoken to initially is revisited with great results. Here's hoping.

BBM Not everyone has a price. Not everyone wants to insert themselves in a long and drawn out court process. Not everyone wants to be bombarded with the PODCASTER du jour camping out on their front lawn waiting to interview you. Not everyone wants to start getting threatening calls from the assorted screwballs in the world saying you are a Benedict Arnold. Joe Blow was your friend and you betrayed him. Not everyone wants their name to get out there and have sleuths say "oh i think she's really involved and is fingering her friend.

And finally....wait for it.... The stalker appears as normal as apple pie and NO ONE would suspect a bookish nerd who once played the harp in the high school band. JMO ;)

If it was an anonymous tip though, nobody would find out who called it in, right?

They have said that the tip can be made anonymously, true. I wonder how they can determine that it's not from the suspect himself, though. 🤔

Rsbm

Because (in my outlandish theory), the reason NG was targeted is to keep someone out of prison for something else that happened years ago.
