b) NG lives in a million dollar home in a nice area so seems to have the resources to subscribe if she wanted to

For me it's not about a senior without the capacity to make decisions but more out of safety concerns, especially because she lives in a upscale neighbourhood by herself. I have two elderly parents who are very capable and sometimes stubborn too but i convinced them to also install cams on the outside for my peace of mind so they complied, thankfully.

I have many Ring cameras and subscriptions start at only $4.99/month. The Nest camera storage is only $10/month or $100/year. I have friends with cameras that absolutely refuse to pay for a subscription. I don't get it either.

I wouldn't pay to upload data about me and my household to a third party cloud. It's surveillance, not security.

The sheriff backed off the forced entry statement made on Monday. Acted like he had never heard of it. That’s stupid. Anyway, he would “neither confirm nor deny” it now.
The ransom note referenced NG NOT wearing her Apple Watch and a broken flood light, then there were questions about whether those things could have been found out by watching news coverage.
Those are important things. I kinda think there is more to why they think the TMZ ransom note is legit.

Unless she was carried, the almost would have had to assist her to the door.

If they know the time of the “person detected” alert, how can they not know which camera it came from? Alerts are always linked to a specific device. Or are they trying to flush somebody out being vague about the camera situation? Hoping to spook the perp into thinking there were more than what he/she was aware of? But then why would they say they’ve been unable to extract data as it’s been overwritten? This is so confusing.

I think the FBI knows and the Sheriff tried to be very careful to let the FBI answer the questions about technology and the devices specifically. IMO the sheriff tends to use 3 or 4 sentences when 1 would suffice.

This. Having the camera is a deterrent but the subscription isn't. The only time you need the actual recording is if something has happened and she/they no doubt thought the probability was low. A lot of people (myself included) have the camera purely so they can look and see who is at the door.

Having said that, I agree with the person way, way, way back who said Nancy was fairly exposed as the mother of a high-profile person with whom she also occasionally appeared on TV with, including a segment a couple of months ago highlighting their Tucson hometown. I would think that Savannah might have pushed for more security, although maybe she did and Nancy refused. It's something I don't have to think much about as my 82-year-old mother is a worrywart with every camera, light, and doorbell subscription she can think of.

They very well may "suspect" someone but aren't going to put that information out to the public because they don't want to tip that person off. It's possible the evidence is pointing toward one person but they are still gathering evidence. It's also possible the evidence doesn't point to anyone person yet.

sounds like she entered the house through the garage....was opened, she was dropped off, and closed. ???? She had the opener on her key fob so she opened it for family to pull in and drop her off then leave and she closed the door???

Could have opened the garage and then chatted in the driveway for a minute before going inside and closing the door.

2 minutes is a long time to have a garage door open before closing if you are walking in.

Let's assume this is a rounding error and it is closer to 1 minute 31 seconds to round it up.

Regardless, you raise it and walk to the control near the interior door and that is only like 20 to 30 seconds.

Did the family stay for that minute until she closed the door? Or did they drop her off in the driveway then go on about their business. I doubt that.

All of this is wondering if the perpetrator gained access to the house thru the open garage or if access was much later in the early morning when the other activities happened?

not necessarily. if she opened the door as the car was pulling up. then it takes time for a mobility impaired person to get out of the car... then slowly walk to the door. then if she used a wall remote to close it vs one in her hand? Or perhaps she was walked to the door, so then A or T had to actually exit the garage before she could hit the wall remote? lots of scenarios that a feasible.

A quick google search says she actually did not have a dog. The dog from the missing persons flyer photo is a relatives dog.

I think the black poodle might belong to Annie. Both photos where I’ve seen the dog pictured it looks like the background was at Annie’s house.

I think to have taken the body gives a feeling of power to the evil doer who did this. Still feels like someone in the family is connected to something/someone bad. There are lots of well known people so i agree with a previous poster, why the Guthrie family? Would love to be a fly on the wall behind the scenes. Jmo
