in reference to uber being able to work without a phone - i forgot to quote.

it's just an app on the phone - if family ordered it they could see when the pickup is, type of car, license plate etc and tell her. when it got there she would just need to get in.

I missed a couple of hours this evening and don't have the energy to go through layers of posts.

PLEASE give me the cheat sheet for what happened within the past 2 hours. :)

LE received another "ransom" letter.

LE got a tip about a vehicle seen at the Circle K that may be of interest.

LE went back to NG's home to search.

LE removed a device from above the guest house.

President Trump stated there should be information coming out soon - a possible solution.

LE towed the car in NG's garage.

I think that's pretty much the gist.

On Saturday night, Nancy's garage was opened at 9:48 p.m. and was shut at 9:50 p.m.

That is all we know as far as garage openings and closings thus far.
Or is that just the information that they were giving to show when she arrived back. Maybe they aren’t releasing all the information….

Some thought it was perp watching the house before/after the crime. But most think the LE placed cameras to watch the crime scene. And, some think this is a camera belonging to NG, that may or may not be on a different system.
I have what appears to be the same camera. There is an option to “ share” access to the device/recordings outside of the owners access.
Who installed them? NG didn’t crawl up there I would assume.

So how does that work?
I do this all the time! You can order a car to any location, not just your current one. So you just set the pickup point and destination and, depending on the tech abilities of the person you're ubering, send them the link to the trip or just tell them what car to look for.

Very easy and a nice way to transport someone so money never comes into the equation (you pay for the uber through the app and your guest doesn't need to do anything).

I always use uber black and the drivers are never phased by the request.

Can someone explain why LE waited this long to tow the car? Had it not been searched in site earlier! I really need to know cuz this makes me go crazy.

I don’t think people have car phones anymore
Actually, many new cars can be hooked up with your cell phone service and can be operated from the steering wheel. I used the "car phone" term meaning a cheap cell phone that she kept in her car so that she was never caught on the road without it. I have recently had a discussion with a cousin about how finicky the cell phone service hooked through the car can be as her grandson had driven her vehicle and somehow the settings were changed so it would take her 30 minutes to figure how to navigate through in order to call anyone. She's in her 70s and was quite irritated.

It’s entirely possible the ransomer is not the same person as the perpetrator. They could be completely unrelated.
Totally agree. MO

If the sheriff was just pulling a bumbling, "yeah we probably shouldn't have released it so early, that's Monday morning quarterbacking, I make mistakes, I'll probably make some more" act, he pulled that off well!
Yes, that is a learned LE technique. TV shows Matlock and Columbo were based on this technique.

Does the app tell you if the door was opened manually?
If i open with button on wall or remote in car it just says open. If I open with app, it says opened by 'my name'.

Thank you ! At least 3 of us saw the statement. Whether it was accurate or not, who knows, but it was said.
It was said early on. Also that SIL drove Nancy home. Statements regarding the start of this have changed throughout or stifled. IMO

What is the line that Savannah said? I’m not familiar with the movie but curious.

The mom in Silence of the Lambs is on tv making a plea to the kidnappers of her daughter and says, "Catherine is very gentle and kind. Talk to her and you'll see."

In the video, Savannah says about her mom, "She is full of kindness and knowledge." Then looks up and says, "Talk to her and you'll see."

It's in here, at about 2:15. In the clip, it also says that the (fictional movie) president is "highly concerned."

This is a link to the last press conference if you go to th 8.04 Mark the sheriff talks about taking the car in to be processed. So I think that was already done?

It's a little unclear whose car the sheriff was referring to in the press conference. He wasn't responding to a specific question. It sounded like he was debunking some of AB's reporting from the day before. One item that AB had reported was that AG's car had been taken for processing. Then at the press conference, the sheriff didn't reference AB specifically but preemptively declares that the car had been processed "from the home", standard investigating, search warrant, blah blah. But he doesn't actually clarify whose home or whose car. It comes off the cuff like it's Nancy's, but if he truly was referring to AB's report without naming her, her report had said that it was AG's car.
