Believe me, the FBI could find the source of any ransom threat.

JMO

100%.

Basement-dweller Jimmys are no match for the FBI.

I mean, I don't understand a single word of this article I've linked, because math and technology, but be that as it may, our government has amazing capabilities.

Chainalysis. Say that 5 times fast.

JMO.

Quoting my own post because I just realized in the article it says that mahjong is a 4-player game.
So I wonder who else made up the foursome.
It sounds like mahjong was her last activity of the night vs. dinner.

ETA: Does anyone here play mahjong, and if so, is it a game that can only be played with 4 people, or can 2 people play?

JMO.
It’s a four person game but there is a work around to play with two or three people.

Just a question for any computer person. Will they be able to track the IPS address from the ransom emails?
Criminals would use a cheap burner phone from a dollar store and the WiFi of a mall or business.

KGUN received a ransom note referencing Nancy Guthrie. It makes a specific demand for several million dollars in Bitcoin by Thursday and threatens to kill her if payment is not received by Monday. It also makes specific reference to two pieces of evidence at the crime scene, which we can not authenticate as legitimate. KGUN has forwarded the full contents of the note to investigators and authorities.
So, they must be paid Thursday, but won’t kill her until Monday. This sounds so amateurish. IMO

My opinion only … Just a thought I had … PeRHaPS it may be possible (though maybe not likely) they may have possibly gone over and.or taken her over the Mexican border where medication she needs may be more easily obtained (to keep her alive whilst they wait for payment).

They could have easily gotten this accomplished before she normally would have shown up to church & been determined missing since Tucson is so close to the Mexican boarder.
Yes. In Mexico, many medications can be bought OTC at pharmacies without prescriptions.

Someone may have known that she didn't have a current cloud account.
I may have missed that detail. Did they verify that she didn’t have active ring account or subscription?

If so, that info would lead me back to someone who may have known her personally or been to the house previously.

Here is Brian Entin's latest video: (34 min length)

On the scene: blood found at Nancy Guthrie’s home, ripped off ring camera, and ransom notes

Two things I especially noted from the video - one good and one not so much:

(1) The ransom notes sent by email: Both guests - Jeff and Maureen - say investigators can trace the IP address on those emails within minutes given the software and AI in use these days. This, even though the sender tries to bounce the IP address all over the place to hide. Good to hear as if these ransom notes are a hoax, that can be fairly quickly known.

(2) Given the visibility of this case (since NG is SG's mother), the case will be management-heavy, which will slow it down as every decision by line investigators will be subject to greater management oversight, scrutiny, and concern about what things "may look like" by managers who only want to look good when so many are watching.

A couple of thoughts:

Maybe they did find a ransom note at the scene, but didn’t want to give the perps the attention so they tried to keep it under wraps. The initial mention of needing certain medications or she could die in 24 hours and then nothing more being said about it afterwards could have been a way to try and scare the perps out of the ransom demand and hoping NG would randomly appear somewhere on the streets bc they wouldn’t want a murder charge against them. Having the family offer the low reward and not upping it could be a way that they were trying to entice the perps with a little amount of cash in their pockets, but not giving them the opportunity of getting a huge amount if they stupidly tried to call in a tip that they “saw her” at a random location in order to collect. That also has me thinking that they believe it was amateurs and not “professionals” who are demanding a ransom for the alleged kidnapping. With different sources of media receiving emails about ransom makes me think strongly that LE did see some sort of ransom note at her house and the perps are getting antsy bc LE kept denying it being a kidnapping for ransom so they had to do something to get attention on the matter to try and force the ransom payment to be made. Lastly, I saw somewhere amongst the last 50+ pages on this thread that it was mentioned that LE went to Savanna about what was said in this supposed ransom message emailed to the media gives me a strong feeling that this whole thing has something to do with her “celebrity” status and the perps wanting to get her attention since they weren’t able to get it by sending these “delusional letters or gifts that crossed the line” to her through her “fan mail” or what not.

I thought Nancy needed specific medication every 24 hours or she would die. I read this. Is this untrue?

What are your thoughts on why LE would have sent the ransom note to Savannah?

I can’t figure out why that would be done? I mean why say Savannah and not “the family” ?
Investigators have analyzed the note and are taking it seriously, Nanos said.

He said the FBI reviewed the note and made the decision to share it with Savannah Guthrie.

Yes
Sadly though both FBI guests were not optimistic about the outcome. Jeff hesitated a bit but his body language displayed pessimism. Both appeared to be very experienced and knowledgable.

I wish the reward offered could be higher than $2,500.
Sometimes the police offer low rewards or encourage others to offer low rewards to avoid being over whelmed by jackpot seeking gamblers willing to "swag" tips in the hope that one will be accurate enough to either claim the high reward, or to share in it.

I'm speculating. Not everyone has a cloud account. But, most know if you do, removing the camera will not help.

This case is bizarre. The biggest question for me is, why remove her from the location? The only explanations I can come up with for this are: 1. ransom purposes. 2. SA. 3. a familiar tie to NG.

When the news broke that a crime had been committed against NG, my immediate thought was maybe a ransom plan gone wrong (they try to abduct NG, but her heart gives out or they are too rough with her) because there was no immediate note. With this new development of a note now, I’m hoping for a positive outcome but all of it is so strange to me. NG has been missing for days, why would kidnappers spend that much time sitting with NG before making their demands? It doesn’t seem to align with that MO. However, based on the circumstances (police’s response, the blood on front porch) I do feel it is likely NG left the house alive. JMO

Oh my, that blood spatter is definitely telling a story.
It look like medium velocity blood spatter or maybe expirated spray? What do you guys think?

Brian Entin frequently has Maureen on and t onight Jeff too. I really listen when they are giving their opinions...they know how these cases go and are really experienced. Neither are optimistic that she is still alive.

Why am I getting "Jon Benet" vibes here?

She was last seen by family, 9:30 pm.
Reported missing by church friends? How many of your church friends have your daughter's phone number? Odd. Church friends call family 11:00 am
Family goes to check on her, and looks for her, calls police at 12:15 pm

Police come over, see her phone, wallet and car, and notice blood on walkway. And the doorbell camera is removed.

Wouldn’t the family have noticed that prior to 12:15? If your elderly mother was missing, she did not have her phone, wallet, and the car was there, Wouldn’t you have called the police with 15 or 20 minutes? If not five minutes?

My husband is 85, he uses a walker. I know where he is every minute. If I came home and he was gone, it wouldn't take me an hour and 15 minutes to call the police. He has his phone with him all of the time.

The blood is interesting, but if she was on blood thinners or even taking a baby aspirin a day, as many people her age do, a little bit of blood goes a long way. It doesn't take much of a cut for that blood. Have they even verified it is her blood?

Very frightening case. Especially for those of us with older parents.

I know this has been asked and answered but I have been too busy to read much. Is it a gated community?
