I hope this doesn't end up like the recent well-publicized murders that were allegedly committed by a family member or ex-family member. Just my own thoughts. I'm still hoping that Nancy is found alive.

Neighbors have said they are not concerned for their safety. This is a very safe and nice area, which makes something like this very unusual in this part of Tucson.
Thank you. Since no arrest(s) have been announced, I wasn’t sure if LE said no threat to anyone at this time etc.

Did her son drop her off? What if a quarrel ensued and the son "helped" mom to his car and she is conveniently missing? JM rambling thoughts.
The article stated children . it did not specify which one so either Cameron or Annie or, their children. That or I'm thinking it could be of the people she employs..

sheriff IMO hemmed and hawed. He said no reason to believe danger to the public but he hates to say that. I think he hates to say that because they honestly don't know yet if there is any danger to others. Since they don't know what or why this happened to Nancy. JMO

My hunch is if the crime was committed by a mentally-ill person in the Gutherie circle, the body would still be there.

But, we've all seen strange crimes so who knows at this point.

Benefits from what? No money is missing. If she is found deceased, an investigation would happen before any inheritance. She might be living comfortably but I don't think we're talking a huge fortune.

I'm leaning against someone that close, tbh.

Benefits from her disappearance/death.
She disappeared for a reason.
If she's been killed, she was killed was for a reason, as depraved or stupid as that reason may be.

I've watched enough Dateline episodes to know that the fact an investigation will follow does not act as a deterrent to countless idiots committing violent crimes.

I haven't seen this answered or mentioned anywhere with certainty. I did see in the police dispatch posted earlier that they mentioned her car was still at the house so I am assuming she drives herself to church (not confirmed).
It's also possible that due to her mobility issues, she no longer drives, but that her helpers use her car to drive her places, get groceries for her, etc. But if someone else drives her to church, one would expect that person to have reported her missing when they went to pick her up. So maybe she still drives sometimes?

Thank you, I would be concerned and take precautions. I was hoping for an update too, maybe tomorrow.

If nothing was stolen sounds like personal vendetta. Life insurance issue? Retaliation for something said? Or possibly neighbor who didn’t like being reprimanded for something?

Great observations. The car has me confused as well considering the lack of info Regarding who really helps her where and When. I think they have an idea who it is. Imo

I don't suppose she is someone that regularly would use a Door Dash or other type intermittent delivery service?

Maybe she shops on line a lot and someone noticed she received a lot of deliveries, suggesting she spent a lot of money.

Sheriff believes she was abducted while she was sleeping.

This is just so perplexing. Who abducts an 84-year old woman who is a regular churchgoer and quiet living person when she is sleeping?

Wouldn't a ransom demand have come out by now?

There may be a ransom demand that hasn't been made public.

Definitely one of those situations where you find yourself picking up a bit on what's not being said.
May or may not be relevant in the end, but there's some big piece of the jigsaw they're carefully avoiding.

my dad's about the same age and has mobility issues. can't walk, wheelchair bound. but still drives. actually still goes grocery shopping. my mom and sister (who he lives with) are not sure what happens at the store, but he does come home with groceries.

Yeah, and kidnapping for ransom isn't really a thing anymore. When it does happen, its typically a criminal on criminal sort of thing, where the abductors know the victim's families aren't going to be calling police.

You just don't have any realistic chance of getting away with something like that.

I still think there's evidence of violence, and they just can't say if she was alive or not when she was taken.

I read the article (albeit quickly) and I don't see anywhere where the sheriff mentions being abducted while she slept? I'm not sure where they're getting that.
