I doubt the family wants to go back to the house at this time even to clean up. I’m sure there are dozens of reporters outside and they would be hounded.

I’ll admit it was jarring to see just because we usually don’t get journalists who can go close up to a crime scene that hasn’t been cleaned up (very early twentieth century when reporters were sometimes on scene before police and no one knew yet it was important to block it off and keep people out).

But I agree that they probably aren’t thinking of tidying up at the home. They’re probably just absolutely sick, if they can even stand upright

I went through a weird crypto phase years back around COVID shutdown. I learned too much and used reddit all the time to learn about new crypto’s to buy back then. Once you have a wallet address, you can search it on whatever network it uses and see all its transactions. They may be linked to specific coins or transfers to other wallets. If it had a lot of activity, it would be hard to trace back. If they plan to use bitcoin for purchases or withdrawal at a bitcoin machine, I would think those machines have cameras like an atm for anti-Theft reasons and wallet transactions could be traced to a specific machine. I don’t enough about that nowadays to know how those machines are managed.

But again, the nature of Bitcoin or crypto in general is the unbanking/anonymity of using it. So I have no idea if Bitcoin machines allow for that much detection to be traced.

I don't think they will use a Bitcoin machine. Everything will be converted and laundered through dozens of accounts. I know this because I watched Ozark

I am speculating that the investigators may have asked the family not to raise the reward amount. Not sure why that would be requested..but I read that happened on another case. Of course i do not remember the case.

I at first wondered why Savannah didn't increase the reward amount. Then, I googled it and AI also said that investigators often tell the family not to raise the amount. It can hinder the investigation by being flooded with all sorts of unfounded tips that have to be investigated.

Possibly. But it’s also possible to use a VPN and hide that. Specifically why I was curious what email provider was used with ransom notes.

Something like an encrypted proton mail with VPN wouldn’t be traceable as far as I know.

Believe me, the FBI could find the source of any ransom threat.

i somehow don't think this was a situation where she opened the door to anyone at 1am or 2 am or whatever. We've been told that there were signs of forced entry into the home, which to me means some part of the home was forcibly broken into. If someone rang her doorbell at midnite even if it was a landscaper she'd employed or "knew", I doubt she would have opened her door to them at that hour. Someone in another post indicated that forcible entry could mean that she opened the door a crack and then they forced their way in, but would that have left visible marks on the door or the home such that LE could see it? I just don't think she opened the door to someone at that late hour.

Someone earlier thought the photo of the porch had some vegetation near the door, looked like there could be flower stems/stuff from a floral arrangement.

IF this is her birthday week, a flower delivery could actually seem legitimate? Not at 2 am, but what if it was at 9:45 , right after she got home (still late, but she’d still be up and dressed, and those same day delivery drivers can work pretty late to get deliveries made.)

I believe Pacemaker can disconnect from iPhone Bluetooth if it’s in another room, I think you are supposed to have your phone in your pocket or nearby for the two to be syncing, that may vary by system. So if the “disconnect” is all they are basing the 1am to 4am window on (or whatever that time frame they think she was abducted - I can’t quite recall), that could be an issue. Though they must be basing it on more info than just that pacemaker / Apple device disconnect time.

I have been trying to think what is the item she WASN'T wearing that was mentioned in the note. I know watch has been thrown around, but I don't know. Is there something else that would be very obvious to those who knew her that she wasn't wearing? It couldn't be a specific piece of jewellery unless they knew her well and she usually wore it. Family might be able to confirm this.

I doubt its a piece of clothing, but did she wear a wig or hair piece?

I find it a little interesting that police don’t want the specific information in the letter to be shared publicly. I get not wanting more/copycat letters but if the specific info they mentioned isn’t true or relevant, why guard it?

I don’t know, I’m kind of starting to think it may actually not be a hoax. Or maybe that’s just a standard thing for police to say. Honestly I don’t know what to think. This case isn’t like any I can think of recently.

the blood spots made me think that they hit her- a dangerous thing to do to some one that age if you really imagine keeping her well. But the skin can get very thin at advanced age, and with blood thinners, it would be easy to scrape her and get blood. this is such a weird crime- awkward because she is famous and the perpetrator(s) have made things difficult for themselves... it would seemingly be easier to rob the Louvre than to come out of this wealthier and not apprehended.

If those things were not right, LE knew that immediately. I feel like LE would want to expose any hoax quickly, and they haven’t said anything yet.
Maybe they delayed the ransom note for two days because they were transporting her a long distance.
So I’m hoping.

If they were smart they would do it this way. But something tells me these people aren’t really sophisticated criminals with much experience.

I only feel this due to them physically taking the ring camera. As if the video wouldn’t record and upload to the cloud within the app while they are removing it. Smart criminals would disguise themselves and not worry about wasting time with removing the ring camera. Even if they had her delete the video, I feel that LEA could still retrieve it somehow.

Bluetooth has a range of around 30 feet. Any farther than that and it is likely to disconnect.

Its awful to think of Nancy possibly being held somewhere, but it means she's still alive if that's the case. Its a strange sort of hope the family must be going through IMO. I hope if someone is holding her that she can hang in there and use her faith and thoughts of her family to give her strength

I have wondered the same myself. 150 for one person would be a lot, especially if your trying to move fast. Even walking her out would take some time.

I wonder what the family thinks she would do- cooperate? try to dissuade the perpetrator(s)? be in shock? of course if they bound her hands and put a mask on her, she might not have any options.

Someone from Arizona wrote a comment on the daily mail website that she had mobility issues and her walker was still at home.

It seems really risky abducting an extremely elderly person from her home.

I'm leaning towards her being killed in the house (strangulation?) and then her body removed for disposal.
