AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

ya got that right.... I do keep thinking the same thought.

1) IF Savannah and Ashleigh Banfield are REALLY good friends, Ashleigh better be 100% certain about the BIL as a suspect. If it turns out to be untrue, I’d say this is a great way to lose a friendship.
one possibility here is that AB is accurately relaying something SG said to her, but SG is incorrect in her belief. SG is going to know a lot more than we do, but she's also not a detective and emotionally very involved here.

though of course that's not the only possibility.

Per this NY Post article the NY Times is reporting that SIL was last to see NG. BBM:

"Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni kept a low profile during their drive on Tuesday, in pictures obtained by Page Six.
Savannah’s sibling attempted to cover her face with a pink hoodie while leaving the couple’s Tucson, Ariz., residence.
Annie’s husband similarly pulled his sweatshirt up over his nose and sported a pair of sunglasses.
The duo’s outing marked the first time Nancy’s family members have been spotted since she became the subject of a missing persons investigation.
Cioni was the last person to see Nancy — despite previous reports it was Annie — as he was the one to drop his mother-in-law off at her house around 9:30 p.m. Saturday after dinner, according to the New York Times."

as for DNA that would be tough as SIL no doubt touches lots of things in NG's home.

I don't know about the show-biz reporter's source, but I think AB's source is LE. At least, that is what she said.

The department tells TMZ ... "We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results."

They add, "We are not confirming the car being seized, we are unsure where that reporter is getting that information."

I don't know if this SIL theory has any merit but does explain the family not calling LE immediately upon arrival. I do think if it is SIL that Annie had to be involved. Awful to think about but she knows if he was home all night.
This story would need to be a whole lot more complicated if that is true.

We know she left the home around 2:00am based on her pacemaker.

If Annie isn't involved, then her husband dropped her off, came home, then left again in the middle of the night long enough to take her and hide her without his absence getting noticed.

if the story is true, and SG is leaking it through AB, i hope they both realize that's bad for the investigation, and ultimately bad for NG.

I don't live alone, but when someone knocks on the door when I am alone, I shout, "TOM! Someone is at the door!" to give the impression a man is in the house. I also have done that outdoors when I felt like a creep was creeping me - I shouted and waved to nobody in the distance, "TOM! I'm here - I'll be right there!" or something like that - use a big voice even it you feel like a fool.

Disclosure: Tom is my cat's name.

I do that in large cities when travelling alone with my daughter. "There's dad over there" and we just start moving. She is older now but has strict instructions to just roll with whatever I say. (My husband isn't on these trips.)

That is interesting info to know, not just in this case but perhaps in other cases we follow. I had no idea about the automobile exception. Thanks!

Agreed.... I did not know this either.

Huh. Where was it stated that “he’s absolutely not a suspect” or some such strong words like that? The phrasing made me side eye for sure

Just watched Ashley Banfield's You Tube video. It makes sense it was a family member as they knew where the Google Nest cameras were and smashed them. Also, took off the Apple Watch so Nancy's location couldn't be tracked. Supposedly, police are having a tough time getting the Nest camera footage, which should be easy to do. Ring video is easy to get as long as family consents. Ashley also said Savannah's sister's car was seized by police. We still don't have any confirmation from police

But they aren’t denying, either.

It makes me wonder, too. Hope Nancy is found okay 🙏

I thought Savannah might be staying with her sister however at this point probably with brother Camron. What do we know about brother other than retired. I don't see him in family photos etc.

well... here is that family photo again..... Isn't that Camron on the right?
I dont think it is Annie's partner??? Not sure tho.

I have been thinking for a day or so that this was a male family member. NG is just so low risk for stranger abduction given her age, mobility, how nice and remote her house is and with security cameras, etc. I think you can’t even look at kidnapping statistics without considering the victim because someone who kidnaps a child has different motives than someone who kidnaps a girl in her 20s.

I just felt that this had to be personal and prob related to money in some way. And I felt that it had to be a male because she was clearly physically moved. If I had seen how big the SIL is, I would have been immediately suspicious TBH.

Ashleigh Banfield is the one reporting about the son-in-law (at this moment). In that recently posted video, Brian Entin says "he doesn't know anything about the son-in-law being a suspect. All he knew was that the FBI was at their house today ( Annie's and her husbands house)."

From the video Ashleigh says she is getting this information from her law enforcement source. From her source they have towed and impounded Annie's car.

This makes sense to me since either Annie or Annie and her husband were the last to see Nancy. Per the video it is not clear if it was just Annie who dropped her off or both Annie and her husband.

This also makes sense since family is always thoroughly checked out. So, it could be LE just covering their bases and especially since family were the last to see the victim. It also makes sense that family members know about the house, cameras, the family members habits, etc. If it does turn out to be a family member - my heart hurts even more. I know typically (not always) it is someone close to the victim. I just pray that Nancy is somewhere ok. ):

Moo; moo.
Brian Entin doesn't have a new video this morning, but I'll bet he will have one soon. Nothing gets past him

If true, that is probably very significant. Wow!
