Just unreal. She's been kidnapped? There are easier ways to make money with less chances of getting caught in the US! I wonder who the "mastermind" is in all this? I hope they are caught AND that Nancy is still alive and well.

Tricia, I’m a little uncertain of what sources are approved and am reluctant to share a link because AB was on the same clip and I don’t want to get in trouble …but Brian Entin was on News Nation and he said that “federal agents” were there - also mentioned something about shirts saying ICAC - did not say FBI - said federal agents.

I think it’s both! At least that’s how I feel personally. I’ve never seen a case like this and the video is weird to me.

I highly doubt that’s the case, but they are certainly behaving like it might be real.

This would draw out real abductors, or those trying to profit with a ruse.

This bothers me though, because it could be an indication they are lost.

Looks like LE hasn't been able to rule out kidnapping, at least not yet.

It's possible the family has latched onto that scenario and insisted upon making an appeal.
For one thing, believing she was kidnapped allows the family to cling to the hope that she could still be alive.

I still don't think that's the likeliest scenario, but it appears LE hasn't been able to rule it out yet. So there's that.

The additional FBI resources being allocated to the case will likely be able to make quicker headway on the ransom demands angle.

I wonder if the family wrote their own material or the FBI scripted it.

Savannah is front and center, leaning forward. The brother barely plays a roll, saying nothing until the very end. It's a female dominated video.

It's smart because it's produced to incite emotion, and humanize their frail mother. All the words for mother were used: mama, mommy, mom. Even kidnappers have moms. The offer to "listen" and the quiet demand for proof-of-life without male energy from the brother is intentional. I think they did a good job. It's heart wrenching to watch. I hope whomever needs to see this has a conscience.

People can hide the IP address by setting up an untraceable VPN. Considering they're talking about bitcoin, they are tech savvy.

When I saw they were emailed I thought that they should be easy to trace from the ISP? address. I've heard cases where they've tracked the computer used to a library. This surprises me that they can't trace them.

I’m pretty sure if the person uses a VPN it conceals the senders IP address
