Her Pacemaker synced with her Apple watch at 2 AM Sunday morning so she was likely in her bedroom. Nothing after that. The last proof of life was her leaving the Saturday night dinner/event. No proof she ever made it home at least not yet in the smashed cameras.
I'm unclear about Nancy's church attendance. I have not read anything about her not attending regularly. Was that stated in an article or newscast?I'm worried about the attending/not attending church thing. Did someone from the church really ring Annie aɓout Nancy not showing up? That can't be true, if Nancy hadn't attended physically for sometime, or only occasionally. So was that report of her attendance wrong, or is someone lying?
Yes, that was the point I was originally trying to make, although I didn't express it well. Aren't ransom demands usually sent to the family or to LE, rather than to media outlets? Seems like the perps did not contact the family directly, yet they are the ones who are supposed to pay. Maybe that is not unusual but it seems unusual to me. This is why I'm skeptical of the ransom notes. JMO.
This was a battery operated Nest camera. Without a subscription means only 3 hours of event video. A paid subscription offers two plans. Either a 30 days or 60 days of video storage.it was a google nest camera. i've seen conflicting info in this thread that google nest footage overwrites every three hours, every eight hours, and that it syncs to the cloud.
i'm guessing since they have no suspect and no images have been released that it's one of the former ones and it could be really difficult to recover the footage. if it's local to the device/app, it might be impossible.
Yeah when they came back to the house to do a cursory grid search around the house and bringing dogs back etc, I assumed they were at square one. I mean I know these are big lots and spread out etc. But all the homes butt up to each other. By no means would I expect a body or obvious evidence to have been missed. I could only assume that they were hoping that they missed something. And I know its happened in certain cases and things do get over looked, But I just really expected that this would be solved rather quickly. I'm scratching my head to be honest, I initially thought it would be someone close to the victim or at least someone that was closely familiar. Now I'm not so sure. JMOThey actually didn't have a clue in Moscow for a long time. It was almost 5 weeks later that they finally had a name to work with.
I am perplexed this one has taken this long though, as you'd think they'd have a break by now (surveillance footage, geofence, DNA if the offender is in the system).
But the developments today tell me that they aren't close right now. That could of course change at any moment though.
I have wondered about the church angle. LE said NG didn't leave on her own bc she has "mobility issues"I'm worried about the attending/not attending church thing. Did someone from the church really ring Annie anɓout Nancy not showing up? That can't be true, if Nancy hadn't attended physically for sometime, or only occasionally. Do you have a link re LE receiving a ransom note before the media did? Even if that were the case, the way SG phrased it about hearing reports of ransom notes, it just seems odd the way this communication is going. So indirect and public. I just don't think the notes are legit. JMO.It's been stated by MSM that the local law enforcement had received the ransom letter but where keeping it close the vest/not releasing that info to the public......another news network received it also but either chose to keep it private or else were asked by LE to keep it quiet.....however, being that TMZ is all about scandal and sensationalism, IMO they didn't miss the opportunity to be "the ones" to bring it public.
I don’t see anything to point to anything nefarious. Hearing her choked up in the video was very heartbreaking.I know everyone grieves in their own way… but the more I read and see, the more I am unsettled about SG’s sister AG. And if her, IMO I think it is unlikely that NG is still alive. I really hope I’m wrong.
I see Nancy's children relying on their faith in this difficult time.I noticed a lot of religiosity in the video, I hope this doesn't sound too cynical but could they think someone from the church might be involved? mOO
I keep seeing stuff like this. Of course they want their mother to be able to take her medicine and come home... this statement is 100% shaped very strategically by the FBI. Every word is intentional. The fact that they are not speaking in anger, using threats or ultimatums or even much urgency is completely intentional. They don't want to scare a perp into panicking and doing something rash. They still mentioned the meds and their importanceI respect that and you must be a great human! Lost my mom at 83; but HAD my mom been abducted and 4 days had gone by and she had meds that kept her alive within a 24 hour period, THAT would be the message. When you're that age, and you're on life sustaining drugs, THAT'S what you drive home. I think the three know she's dead and LE are setting this up to get one of them to crack.
Sorry, I read it on here somewhere!I'm unclear about Nancy's church attendance. I have not read anything about her not attending regularly. Was that stated in an article or newscast?
Doesn't work like that. The watch is only the device that collects data from the Pacemaker and sends it to the cardiologist. It doesn't go off like a metal detector whenever it's near her. Her Pacemaker only works if she's alive.Exactly!!! They are still searching the area with dogs. Why not take the watch that links to her actual body?
Yeah I wouldn't read to much into the video message of the family. It was likely scripted by the FBI and they were just reading it. A very tough situation to be in tbhI see Nancy's children relying on their faith in this difficult time.
If it is a stranger, maybe they didn't have the family's email addresses? I think they were sent by email so there would be no trace. Maybe SG has a public email through NBC? I don't know. They knew the message would get to the family through the media. They may have sent a copy to LE, we really don't know how many copies were sent. The fact that they sent at least one copy to a local news outlet may indicate that they are local? Maybe not.Yes, that was the point I was originally trying to make, although I didn't express it well. Aren't ransom demands usually sent to the family or to LE, rather than to media outlets? Seems like the perps did not contact the family directly, yet they are the ones who are supposed to pay. Maybe that is not unusual but it seems unusual to me. Has Savannah done stories on crypto? Other kids have it and got deep into it?![]()
Bitcoin demand in Nancy Guthrie disappearance shows how crypto is becoming a more frequent feature of physical crimes | Fortune
TMZ and an Arizona news outlet reported receiving the ransom letter.fortune.com
The demand for Bitcoin in Guthrie’s kidnapping comes amid an uptick of violent incidents in which criminals have targeted crypto owners, including notable cases occurring recently in Paris and New York. These attacks, known as “wrench attacks”, typically target people who have publicly revealed they own a sizable stash of crypto. There is no evidence Nancy Guthrie is a crypto owner and, if the random note is genuine, the kidnappers appear to be relying on the partial anonymity offered by Bitcoin.
