I have missed a lot. Where did he go wrong in earlier pressers?
Much more "folksy" than you expect, complained about the city council not approving more cameras etc...

I was just brainstorming earlier and mentioned the Olympics angle as something that crossed my mind. I don't think this is related to SG covering the olympic games. However, I am beginning to wonder if this was planned to happen before she left the country. I'm not convinced the ransom angle is legitimate. But if this wasn't random and money was a motive, SG would be the most likely family member to have access to large amounts of money. All just my opinion
Respectfully, that would be a neat trick to successfully go from any announcement of SG's roll in the Olympics coverage to finding her mother's home, her illness and treatments, and planning and executing a kidnapping unless you knew the family very well.

Update (I'm assuming Press Conference) at 12:00 CST.

I'm sure NBC, CNN and NewsNation will carry it live.

I'm just wondering, if this was targeted towards SG and her money then why take her mom? Isn't it (i'm sorry to say) easier to kidnap a child instead of a 84 yr old with several health issues? Ofcourse both are horrific but usually when ransom is involved they go for the kids, right? Idk, just wondering about this.
Aren't all the kids grown up? I suspect it's because they (abducter) know NG, her house, and a frail older person is easier to control.

Hopefully the presser will be telling, but usually these scheduled update pressers are just meant to keep the media at bay and often contain limited info and lots of “no comment” responses to questions.
and a lot of gladhanding each other

Does anyone know if they had to get a search warrant to search sister’s house or if she gave consent?

The part I can’t stop thinking about is the logistics plus the cameras. If someone came in through the sliding glass door and also took time to smash/remove cameras (Nest inside and the Ring at the front), they still had to physically get Nancy out of the house, into a vehicle, and drive away. I just don’t see how one person does all of that alone, disabling cameras, controlling an 84-year-old, loading her into a car, then calmly getting in the driver’s seat and leaving, unless she was unconscious or completely compliant. Otherwise it really feels like a two-person situation… one person handling Nancy while the other handled cameras/lookout/driver.

Basically he made a specific statement ("taken from her bed") and later seemed to walk it back, saying people were taking him too literally. JMO.

Lack of sleep, rambling, just not a great impression.

Interesting, when I click on attend online, this came up…

“Join the audience to participate in chat, polls, and quizzes”.

Huh, that is interesting. Maybe Nancy always participated in that part, and a friend noticed she wasn’t signed in? (If joining allows an online parishioner to see the others engaging).
I don’t know how it works;jmo

As far as the upcoming presser. I’m curious about your thoughts. Would it benefit the FBI/PD to come forward and say, “Yes, there’s a legitimate ransom note,” or “Yes, the SIL is a suspect”? Or will they leave this as speculation?
I personally don't believe there will be any new news today and LE will continue to say they're fully investigating every lead.
As far as mentioning anyone specifically as a suspect, absolutely will not happen. They need to keep all family talking and cooperating.

I'm not familiar with how much security detail she has on her children, that's why i wondered. I'm sorry, i wasn't known with SG before this all happened because i'm from Europe so didn't really watch her show 🫣
I think (just a guess) that being an prime time anchor on TODAY she has top security in NYC but not sure on her family. Of course worldwide she is now known. I seldom watch her but boy this story has my attention. In Tucson right now security is tight where she is staying and they say it is her normal detail (probably beefed up).

I am honestly stumped with this case. But yes, if it was family or someone close to the family that had been planning this...then I could see them thinking it needs to happen before SG left the country. However, a flight home from Italy isn't a huge ordeal. And money could be transferred from out of the country etc.
I just can't pinpoint what i think happened here. And all my opinion as always.
Where is Nancy!?

So I live in NYC and have kids who went to private school with VVIP’s kids and niece and nephews who do, now.

I think both SG’s kids are middle school aged so…you have the potential for a real fight by an able bodied child, and they likely attend a private school, their schedule would presumably be more difficult to work with.

Nancy has lived in the same house for 50+ years and at 84, has a presumably more predictable schedule. Being mobility challenged, having more health issues and less likely to engage in fighting back or attempting to escape makes her a more appealing victim IMO.
That's Amazing that she lived there since her early 30s. I guess SG grew up in that community.

Forgive me if this was posted, but a couple of minutes in, he mentions that they reestablished the crime scene. This is interesting, and I don’t recall seeing this happen in previous cases. Did they really miss evidence the first time? Or maybe this is regarding new tips that came in?

I have missed a lot. Where did he go wrong in earlier pressers?

The biggest thing was the whole "snatched from her bed" thing that the media ran wild with. He later walked that back, saying that he didn't mean that literally (he even referenced the mess that caused prior to a particular presser).

He was also late in shooting down the rumors regarding Savanah's sister and brother in law, allowing them to take hold for many hours before responding.

He's gotten better as time has gone on, but it was a rocky start.
