This is the going to prove to be the key here.

She left the home in a vehicle. Although her neighborhood doesn't have cameras, the roads that ring it have traffic cams, ATMs, gas stations, banks, and other businesses facing the roads. I 10 has overhead gantry cams everywhere. U of A has cameras all over campus roads.

There was a vehicle that passed by at least 1 of them sometime between 12am and 4am that night, LE just needs to find it.
I agree. LE should also do a cell tower dump of all the phones that pinged in that vicinity between midnight and 4 am. There aren't usually too many people out driving around at that hour, especially in a somewhat remote suburban area. This would assume that the kidnapper(s) had phones with them. If it was pre-planned, this wouldn't apply as I assume the perp(s) would not be that dumb (but you never know...).

I have my suspicions of why but they are neither here nor there. It IS nice that it was done at least. That's not something I would have expected especially the way he treated her as moderator of the debates in the past.
Celebrity equals magic dust, to some, If you know what I mean.....

I'm not familiar with how much security detail she has on her children, that's why i wondered. I'm sorry, i wasn't known with SG before this all happened because i'm from Europe so didn't really watch her show 🫣
So I live in Manhattan and have kids who went to private school with many VIP and VVIP’s kids. Have a niece and nephew who do, too. The only child I know of who had *serious* security was Barron Trump. These children who have private drivers and nannies who make sure they get to school and activities safely, and they live in buildings with good security protocols. Their parents track their phones. It wouldn’t be too easy to abduct a younger child. The schools have very good security. There’s a certain level of trust in the places these children inhabit and it’s a small, safe bubble they live in. But they don’t have bodyguards, that I’ve ever seen.

BUT as kids get older and want more independence, they tend to peel off from watchful adults!

And now I feel like a creep, imagining how easy or difficult it would be to kidnap a child…

I mean, I know the guy was hired to be a cop, but now part of that job is handling the media and knowing what to say, and when to say it. Dude made some mistakes but I think in light of all of this, we need to give him a little grace.
As a local-this situation is absolutely new, however locally he appears the same way anytime he's called to speak. So....I personally don't put much stock into him especially of his handling of local stuff.

An elderly person living alone in a relatively isolated, and dark location is an easy target.
Yup. And I'm leaning toward someone very familiar with the family and her house. A local, maybe a contract worker or something. JMO.

We see some top officials who are really good at this, and some who aren't. Many times it comes down to experience, and this is an all but unprecedented case for any department.

But a mistake is still a mistake, and damage is damage (although I absolutely don't believe this will affect the investigation, as he's just a messenger).

There's no way they wouldn't have done that as soon as possible, especially considering the involvement of the FBI, who are experts at that sort of thing.

The sheriff mentioned this happening already, too.

Much more "folksy" than you expect, complained about the city council not approving more cameras etc...
Oh. So sort of not as professional and on point as one would like?

Basically he made a specific statement ("taken from her bed") and later seemed to walk it back, saying people were taking him too literally. JMO.
Thank you!!

Just under 20 minutes from now

I'm sure it'll be streamed on many sites, here's one --

I heard a LE expert yesterday say that a sheriff is an elected position so they're usually not as technically proficient and concise as a police chief (or something like that). Makes sense to me.

If the church service started at 10:45, I assume that whomever made the call to AG stayed at the services, which probably lasted until at least noon. I don't think that NG's absence would cause so much concern that this person would up and leave the church services to go check on her. I would think that around noon or so this person might have again reached out to AG to make sure NG was okay. Will they release the 911 call at some point?

I may be reading too much in to this, but I find it curious that Craig Melvin (SG's co-host) will not be going to Milan to cover the Olympics. The most realistic assumption is that he is staying stateside in solidarity with SG... but that seems odd to me. There has been no mention as to why he's staying, just they they had to shuffle things around. Does he feel unsafe or concerned for people in his circle?

I would guess that the planned co hosts worked well together and the station wants the replacement co hosts to have a similar working relationship.

Is the press conference still at 1pm Eastern?

Thanks.
