So why did the garage door open on her return?
because a LOT of people enter their homes through garage doors rather than front doors... that's how we enter.

No proof of life has been made.

  • #4,243
The TMZ ransom letter.....is that the fake one an imposter was arrested for or another

I live in a nice town where people Uber a lot because they are either old or planning to drink or meeting a spouse with a car out. I don’t think it’s odd for her to Uber to a dinner. She prob doesn’t drive much, esp in dark. I also don’t think it’s odd that her daughter drive her home. I would do the same if my elderly mom lived alone.

  • #4,245
Could this have started off as a break in robbery and Nancy woke up?

  • #4,246
It doesn't sound like the family is getting a ton of information from LE?
Do they ever? Seems like it's always family's biggest beef. They feel entitled to ALL info LE has, when they actually do not when it's an active investigation.

Not confirming or denying forced entry, smash cameras. -- seems a yes, IMO.

Said vehicle taken as part of regular investigation? But the daughter's? -- hmm, maybe.

Ubered 10 mins to family? Why? Couldn't someone have picked her up? Did she Uber home? Not mentioned. Did an Uber driver do this?

Didn't mention a single word of how the family was notified or that she didn't make it to church.

Something tells me they ARE looking at someone, potentially family. Maybe TC maybe not...MOO
This. Took an Uber to her daughter. I would never let my semi-immobile 84 YO mother take an uber when I could go get her.

Not giving specifics over the ransom notes - except one mentioned a motion light

  • #4,249
The ransom note sent to the media is the one they are working on

  • #4,250
One talked about a flood light, one talked about an Apple watch. The broken flood light we've seen in the photos of Nancy's yard.

Question: What does "pacemaker app disconnects from phone" mean? I mean, I know what it means... but I'm trying to understand why it would do that. Thx.
Likely bluetooth and the pacemaker went too far away for it connect to the phone.

Would that pacemaker data have info of heartrate from 1:47 to 2:23?

  • #4,252
One ransom note mentioned an apple watch and one mentioned a flood light. The imposter (arrest made) vs. the original ransom to the media are different ransoms by different people.

  • #4,253
FBI is directly talking to "imposters trying to take advantage of this situation."

Translation: They think these ransom demands are hoaxes.

JMO.
that is not how I understood that at all.

I think they KNOW and think most are hoaxes.

The fact that he said 'it's up to the family' in regards to the one we know of (bitcoin/TMZ), tells me that they have NOT determined that one IS a hoax.

And there we go...

One good reporter just asked, the media/tmz one, they are still currrently working on it, and it has not been determinded to be a hoax.

The one that went to the media we are working on, another one was the imposter one, arrest today

  • #4,256
I wish someone would ask if there has any response since the family spoke last night.

  • #4,257
MOO

They may have been able to see a notification on the Nest for 'person detection', but there's no way to state definitively whether it was a human or just triggered by an animal, because they recover video.

Sheriff stated nobody has been ruled out yet (question regarding people who were last with Nancy)

  • #4,259
Won't discuss how the person got into the house.

You're obviously schooled on this topic so I'll now acquiesce except for there was no need to open with any kind of demand, just an acknowledgement.
Thanks for all your input.
imo
I’m hopelessly behind in the thread but I’m old enough that if I don’t respond to something right away, I’ll forget it. All that to say (and forgive me if this is an outdated reply or if someone else already said this)…maybe they were just covering all their bases in terms of kidnapping. What if someone actually did kidnap her, but it isn’t the one demanding ransom? It’s just some sick person that decided to hold an elderly lady captive? This way, while leading with emotions and humanizing Nancy, they’re hoping it will work on whoever may have her, ransom or not? And maybe there’s some kind of psychology that says if a plea is being made to someone but it’s not actually who the intended recipient of the message is, that person may ignore anything that comes after them acknowledging someone other than himself. I hope that makes sense, at least how I wrote it, not necessarily in theory!
