AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

They should ask if they plan to pay the ransom over BTC or whatever before the 5pm deadline (the value of which is plummeting as we speak, lol)
that is actually one reason why I think the letter may be a hoax. I feel like someone super into crypto wouldn't ask for btc but something that is a bit more stable now.

2 minutes is a long time to have a garage door open before closing if you are walking in.

Let's assume this is a rounding error and it is closer to 1 minute 31 seconds to round it up.

Regardless, you raise it and walk to the control near the interior door and that is only like 20 to 30 seconds.

Did the family stay for that minute until she closed the door? Or did they drop her off in the driveway then go on about their business. I doubt that.

All of this is wondering if the perpetrator gained access to the house thru the open garage or if access was much later in the early morning when the other activities happened?
That could be what they were doing in the garage. If they think someone got in through there, they could've been taking DNA samples.

I have been waiting for someone to ask this! Anxious to see responses because I can’t make that align in my mind
the sheriif has just said that there were multiple cameras on the property. I guess that they were all Nests and the contents were overwritten.

Now Sheriff stating "family member" took Nancy home. Wouldn't name specific name(s).
Maybe the fbi or other investigators advised him against it ?
For... reasons unbeknownst to us at this time.

Didn't someone say she had a dog? Maybe she let it out to pee real quick then went inside and closed the door.

Anyone ask if the dog is ok ?
Omo.

How do they not know which camera detected movement versus the Ring bell?????
They should, because ya have to name each camera if you have multiple. So that's weird. imo

"Just family drove her home. We're just going to go with that." Hmmm... That leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

I'm just thinking about this timeline:

9:48 pm - Family drops Nancy off at home & garage door opens
9:50 pm - Garage door closes

It would be helpful to know if she routinely entered/exited her house through the garage vs. the front door when she was being picked up/dropped off.

It would be helpful to know if she kept a garage door opener with her in her purse.

Jennifer Dulos was attacked in her garage after coming home from dropping her kids off at school.
Fotis Dulos snuck into the garage, unbeknownst to her.

I'm actually impressed by this press conference. Usually they disappoint me.

MOO

I feel like it's worth pointing out -- NG lived in that house for decades, added Nest cameras at some point, but as far as we know, lived there safely all these years.

Her security measures were adequate.

Until they weren't.

"My guess is as good as yours."

I wish someone would ask if there was, or wasn't a dog in the house

Emailed ransom note? Interesting! Probably a second arrest coming soon. MOO

Hope for a big break in this tragic case soon !!
Imo.

Interesting...they won't confirm who drove her home or who was the last to see her alive. Just "family member."
I think it's because they are aware of the scrutiny on certain family members and don't want to add fuel to the fire.

Maybe there was a phone alert for activity detected by the camera but the actual video was not retained.
That's exactly what I'm thinking. He also did state that they cannot find the front camera.

Or that someone parked in the garage rather than just dropping her off is possible too. 2 mins seems about right to open the door, pull in and park, get out and close the door with the inside switch. Most garages have FOBS too though. Maybe family keeps a fob and they just open the garage for her to get in and close it when she is? We don't really know ANYTHING about the timeframe between her being dropped off and the first camera alert.
