This may be a dumb question, but what does it mean by doorbell cam goes offline? Is that the point it was disconnected from wall? If so, how did it detect motion at 2:12?

CNN anchor pointing out that sheriff does NOT explicitly say that it's FALSE that there was no forced entry, or that the cameras were smashed.

So there very well could have been forced entry, and the cameras could have been smashed.

He talked about police not saying that, but the media reporting that, and having no idea where that came from. He never said these things were not true.

Also talked about sheriff saying there was no person of interest and no suspect, then going on to talk about no "prime suspect," which is an odd thing to say.

Both things I picked up on as well when I finally got around to watching the presser, so I'm glad they did too.

Does NG routinely spend Saturday evening at the family member's home?
Does she routinely spend about 4 hours there?
Does she routinely use Uber to travel from her own home to the family member's home on Saturday evening?

Not me....I believe he confirmed the time so if the kidnapper(s) are watching (and I think they are) they will know it is their note and not an imposter note. I'd like to know if the other 2 notes referenced gave a deadline and if so, what they were.

Regarding the two separate deadlines for the TMZ/media ransom note, while I think it's odd, could it be they might have different requirements for Nancy's status? Thursday could be 'proof of life' and Monday could be 'ultimatum', for example.

Pure speculation, can't claim to know how this kidnapper thinks, or if the ransom is even real. Hoping sheriff/FBI have a direction they're going in, I know they always keep these things close to the chest. Makes me a little nervous we don't even have any sort of vehicle they're looking for, even considering the conditions out there at night.

Could the garage door have a setting in which it closes automatically after a certain amount of time unless a sensor detects movement across the entryway?

I mean, clearly you'd also want a setting in which it could stay open. (Unless it's a system like the gate to my apartment complex's parking area, in which you have to drape something over the sensor to get it to stay open.)

You can also remotely open the garage from a phone. Maybe she had opened it from phone as approaching the house so it would be ready and lights on when she got there, especially if using an Uber. That would explain a two minute gap, maybe opening it one minute before she got there, walking in, and then closing it right after.

Maybe it was dark when she left for the dinner at Annie's house? And Annie was cooking, etc. so NG decided to take an Uber as it was stated that she only drives during daylight? Maybe she wanted to make another stop first, before going to Annie's house?

I'm looking at the camera timeline again. And am a little perplexed.

From Sherrif's Timeline:
1:47 AM Doorbell camera disconnects
2:12 AM Camera Software detects person/movement but no video

So we know there are at least 2 cameras on the outside of the house. If the front camera was removed then it couldn't have sensed movement so that means the perp walked around the side or to the back. Based on the layout of the house you cannot avoid being seen by the camera on the front door. Now the sheriff said the video overwrote itself and that the company had exhausted efforts to recover any video.

If you're a random perp you don't square up to a doorbell camera and remove it first then walk around the house unless your face is covered and you're not worried about being seen. Or they are stupid and just happened to be extremely lucky that the camera overwrites itself.

Which leads me to believe someone knew the camera would overwrite itself.

Or they only knew about the outside/doorbell camera and not the inside one(s)

It could have been Nancy’s choice. If I offered to pay for something for my parents, even if I was rich, their pride would make them say no

FYI, i have a blink doorbell that i let the free trial run out. It still notifies if there is an event (like dumping trash in the can right by that door which is next to the garage door), but there is no recording.
Clearly i did t want y'all to think our trash can is on the front porch lol.

I have had moments in this case where I have thought maybe the blood was possibly already there before she went missing, and could be unrelated in this case.

I have wondered that as well, particularly given the large area of bruising evident in one photo NG took with a family member. If she was on anticoagulants, she likely bled easily. I wonder if testing could indicate how old the blood droplets were.

Everyone wants to have crimes solved in 30 min to an hour like on a tv show. Reality is getting warrants, sending evidence to crime labs, scrolling through hours and hours of camera footage, finding then interviews hundreds of people, going through all possible called in tips and ruling those out or not etc… i understand the urgency, especially since not confirming NG is alive or not (at least publically), but I wish media would address this instead of throw negative light on LE. Doing this kind of work under a microscope is a hard act. I somewhat liken it to a doctor having to rule out many things before a proper diagnosis can be made. There aren’t writers providing a simple conclusion most of the time. Jmo

I have the resources, am a widow, and I didn’t pay for the subscription either. NG’s family bears zero responsibility for how she set things up.

Releasing the crime scene so quickly was a huge mistake. The sheriff even said as much and when asked about contamination said "that will be for the courts to decide." That could be big down the line.

And the defense will use Brian Entin's video walking onto the porch as evidence the crime scene was contaminated.
