Could the ransom deadline today be for a smaller amount, and if they wait until the follow-up deadline, they multiply their demands? The two deadlines is odd.
Would be an interesting strategy to give an earlybird discount on a ransom. The phased approach makes me more convinced that the ransom is to buy time for/draw attention away from the perp, rather than the original intent of the kidnapping.

MOO

As for the ride home they suggest they are going with family.Worded strangely.
Could a grandchild be an Uber driver?

What would their purpose be for abducting her then? I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm trying to figure out a reason for taking the poor woman against her will if not for money. A thrill kill? Was it going to be a robbery that went wrong and he hurt and took her because she saw his face? Maybe even recognized him?

If the intent was sexual, she'd have been raped and left behind. Taking a person and not getting caught isn't the easiest thing to do.

Did he know who she was? As in... who her daughter was? Did he know if she had money? Or was this just some random attack and it could have been anyone and she lost the eeny meeny miny moe count?
Ted Bundy kidnapped at least one of his victims from her home, leaving only blood spatter. Others of his victims were abducted from public places and kept in Bundy's apartment unconscious for days.

Does anyone else think we will see another video from the siblings soon?

You remove them if you’re close to the victim (want to conceal a crime), or if there’s evidence of SA.

A couple of us have been discussing a particular case where some guy who had painted this woman’s house returned weeks later, broke in, sexually assaulted and murdered her, and dumped her body in a remote area.

Geofencing gave them his name, and dna nailed him. He eventually led them to the body.

Here, it makes sense if it’s that particular person.

If it’s not that person, then I’ve got to believe the most likely option is the latter (sexually motivated crime).
What is wrong with some men that they need/want it SOOOOOO bad they have to do this sort of thing to innocents? smh

We know the murderer from Idaho 4 was caught driving past a gas station. So I looked up how far one could get driving without passing any commercial storefront or gas station.

You can drive around 20 minutes before hitting one, if take a long route (through neighborhood) avoiding them (which I assume suspect took). Eventually you will pass either:
  • 7‑Eleven – Convenience store and gas station at 4661 E Skyline Dr, Tucson, AZ 85718 — this is one of the closest service stops you’d pass once you reach Skyline Drive, a main road you’ll hit when exiting the foothills.

other options if take another route:

  • Speedway – Gas station/convenience store on E Sunrise Dr
  • Ventana Chevron Food Mart – Gas station on E Sunrise Dr
  • QuikTrip – Gas station on N Craycroft Rd (if you go south/east)
  • Circle K | Gas Station or Fry's Fuel Center – Gas station options if you head to N 1st Ave or nearby

I'm sure LE are checking the cameras. If the suspect left via car which seems most likely since footprints weren't uncovered? The only other option is she's still on the property, or never left the neighborhood.
Could someone in the neighborhood be angry at her? Seems unlikely.

Could a grandchild be an Uber driver?
The grandchildren seem to be below driving age, at least the kids of the two sisters.

I’m trying hard to catch up. Thank you to all those that summarized the press conference. I listened as well. My questions.

1. I’m lost about the person contacting family from church, why was that not in the timeline? When did that happen? Did it even happen?

2. Does anyone have details re: cellebrite they took into Sil’s house yesterday? I thought that took hours to run and I wouldn’t expect it to be used at the home.

3. That’s a whole heck of a lot of time in the house. I think entry at front, destroyed and removed camera, struck Nancy, pushed her inside, did whatever- I don’t even want to think about- then took her to the backyard to exit and broke /took camera on way out. Car in driveway on side of house.

4. If this was SIL, what is typical of these types of crimes? Planning? Because this seems like a lot of planning so far. No cellephone, no device, dark street, no image on camera, and dna that can be explained, unless SA’d which I wondered about when Nanos mentioned “biological” evidence. I need to relisten to that.

5. Uber is weird to me. But may be normal. But why not uber home? Maybe she had a drink or two and felt safer not, or it was the hour, or they just insisted she not uber home. Maybe only one adult was there at 5, and easier to uber than load a couple kids in the car to pick her up.

6. If a signal jammer was used on WiFi, would that have affected her Apple Watch? Was hers one with cell service?

7. Did nancy ever date?

8. Why so much time inside? Other than SA, what could be going on?

9. Did her watch register a fall?

Maybe it was dark when she left for the dinner at Annie's house? And Annie was cooking, etc. so NG decided to take an Uber as it was stated that she only drives during daylight? Maybe she wanted to make another stop first, before going to Annie's house?

I think that Nancy is simply responsible. She is 84, maybe had cataract surgery, reaction time is not great. She does not want to get in an accident or hurt someone. She is protecting the community, herself and her children.

The fact that is was an elderly grandma and bitcoin was allegedly asked for, instantly brought grandchild (late teens/early twenties) to mind well before SIL. But the grandchildren seen in photos looked quite a bit younger. Not sure if pics were current.

While I think the likelihood that this is a politically motivated crime is not high it does seem a bit unusual to me that the president called to offer support. This is inconsistent with how he's reacted when other of his critics have victims of crime (e.g. Rob Reiner).
.
A couple of things are different here that come to my mind right away - not saying I don’t think the president’s response to prior tragedies hasn’t…well…shall I say…hasn’t left something to be desired. But one thing that is different here is that we don’t know what happened and whether or not the victim may still be alive and whether additional involvement of federal agencies might help get those answers and bring NG home. And two it may factor in that SG has some pretty well connected co-workers including the daughter of a former president so it’s possible those connections helped set up that call.

Banfield is a legitimate reporter with a large audience who understands the stakes here. And yet here she is still tripling down on SIL. And here are the police not yet clearing him and dancing around questions that are directly related to Banfield’s report. The longer this goes on and no walk back from Banfield, it’s becoming extremely likely she had it nailed. I’ll eat my crow if I’m wrong you can rub my nose in it, but right now it’s looking like 90% chance SIL is our perp.
Not SiL based on the camera destruction timeline alone. 10$ donation to a local humane society or some kind of "we care about cats" NGO of your choice sounds like a good bet?

When they dropped NG off after dinner, did Annie and/or SIL just sit in the car and watch NG go through the garage door?

Did they sit in the car and watch her enter the garage, and when the garage door closed they left?
I would assume they drove Nancy into the garage and helped her in through a garage door. Nancy had trouble walking. I can't imagine they would let her walk that far.

Maybe just to hide her body and get rid of the evidence? I'm just trying to simplify the reasoning because often times perps aren't the brightest lights out there
