You remove them if you’re close to the victim (want to conceal a crime), or if there’s evidence of SA.

A couple of us have been discussing a particular case where some guy who had painted this woman’s house returned weeks later, broke in, sexually assaulted and murdered her, and dumped her body in a remote area.

Geofencing gave them his name, and dna nailed him. He eventually led them to the body.

Here, it makes sense if it’s that particular person.

If it’s not that person, then I’ve got to believe the most likely option is the latter (sexually motivated crime).
I agree with you @MassGuy -

I actually think sexual assault is the likely cause here - I think the sexual assault aspect would explain why there was significant gap between the doorbell camera and the other camera / her pacemaker disconnecting from Bluetooth.

Ugh it makes me sick to type but I think this is likely scenario

I keep wondering if this has more to do with Savannah Guthrie than her mom. Did Savannah have any stalkers? Was someone so obsessed with her that, in their deranged mind, they thought they could get to her (or get attention from her) by kidnapping her mom? I'm sure Savannah would be much more difficult to get close to due to security precautions from being in the public eye, but her mom, on the other hand, would be much easier to access. There have been plenty of pictures of them over the years showing their close relationship so if you were obsessed with Savannah, you would probably know that. Just trying to figure out why on earth this 84 year old woman was targeted. I probably have watched way too many Lifetime Original movies. LOL IMO

I thought the sheriff confirmed the car was towed as a part of standard operating procedure….during today’s press conference.
I assumed he meant AG car that was used to drive NG home.

I mean, supposedly the ransom note included a bitcoin wallet address. So the ransom could have been paid without any contact, and maybe that's what they wanted. It's not as if contact would have been needed in order to comply with the demand.
Why would they pay the ransom if NG was no longer? Hence the reason SG stated in the video that they needed a "sign."

Yes.

I think these articles mean the kids arrested were extorted by others known as Red and 8. Are these related?

The teens, who are not being identified by Fox News Digital because they are both under the age of 18, allegedly posed as delivery drivers to gain access to the Scottsdale home on Jan. 31, before forcing their way inside and duct-taping and assaulting two homeowners inside.

The teenagers had met recently and were extorted by individuals known only as “Red” and “8,” court documents state. They were allegedly sent from California with $1,000 to purchase supplies for disguises, restraints and burglary tools.
and these kids.....seriously thought this was a good idea? What could be worth going jail for? NVM, not related to this case but this is ridiculous on their end.

this is why i think the ransom note is credible and the FBI believes nancy was actually kidnapped by the person(s) who wrote it.

what's happened in the 4-5 days since though, who knows...

i know it's so far fetched but anything is possible. if i end up being wrong and it was a more run-of-the-mill crime (ie. SIL), don't hold it against me in future case discussions. lol
the FBI hasn't...stated anything either way. We don't know if they believe it's real or not.

Seems like due diligence to see when she was dropped off and when that driver returned home by checking other cameras for BIL’s car. But also like they should have done that already?
it seems like the "B" team that were called in to help are retracing all the original work done. So far this investigation does not inspire confidence with the sheriff being honest that some things should have been done sooner.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but it's a thought I can't shake...

If SIL and/or AG had anything to do with a premeditated disappearance ... and NG is with them all those hours playing games and eating dinner ... wouldn't it make sense for somebody to drug her before returning her home?
I would love to know the conversation victim had with sil and ag during the multi hours dinner and games. Also, why have victim take Uber to dinner then offer to drive her home. Suspicious that crime happened after she was dropped off. I think she was dropped off through garage then altercation post drop off then removal via front door. I think all the 1:30am to 2:30am activity was the after crime happened and to coverup. She could have had watch with her and then coverup was return watch to home. Hence, the disconnect with pacemaker. I think she was wearing whatever clothes she had on at the dinner.

I believe it was Ag's car not NG car

There was no instructions really on how to pay by 5pm. The Monday is for bitcoins but maybe I am wrong

It’s interesting to me they were extorted to do it and sent with 1k for supplies. Where is the arrest for the ones who extorted them? There isn’t one, yet. Hope they haven’t extorted others to do similar.

Agree with possibility of this… but in order to get life insurance and collect early, don’t you have to have a body? I could be wrong.
There needs to be a death certificate, usually. But that doesn't necessarily mean there was a body, which is why I have trouble with this as a motive. They could be declared dead without a body, but it's usually going to take some time (like years maybe even).

Good point. I think you can collect after a certain period of time when the person has been presumed dead, without a body. I may be totally wrong (and I definitely don't want to Google it lol) but I think family members can request a death cert after a certain period of time of someone missing.

I dont watch her on TV or the program she is on so I dont know anything about her. Does anyone who does watch her know if she is working on a particular news story? An expose? Has she reported on one recently or is she about to?

Perhaps they were busy making dinner.

St Philips Tucson mass on Sunday is 10AM, so it must have been after mass that church goer contacted family that victim was a no show. Why someone would show up at 2AM to take an 84 year old women out of house to the hostility of causing her to bleed front door steps. This is not some kidnapping situation but rather someone who did not like this Senior in my opinion. I think her removal from house was to conceal evidence of crime

Could be religion related. I just find it a little weird that victim lives 4 miles from daughter and yet victim had to take Uber to meet daughter for dinner and game night. Then son in law drops off victim at home through garage which shut around 9:48pm. Victim is 84 years old with heart condition, requires a walker for mobility, is in pain per daughter, and frail. I find it strange that a church member would break in to house around 1:30am. If this were church related, why not do this after church when the victim would return home?
An 84 year old mother with a pace maker, who can only walk 50 feet and needs a daily medication for survival; is taking an Uber to her daughter’s home that resides only 4 miles away? I find this very odd. Was this the normal “driving arrangement” with get togethers with the daughter and son in-law? If this isn’t suspicious it’s definitely weird and awfully thoughtless. What were the daughter and son in-law doing Saturday around 5:30pm that they couldn’t take a very quick trip to pick up mom?

I wonder why there is little info about dinner and the games. Like was it a church event or at a restaurant or other venue or at Tucson daughter house. My guess is victim took Uber to event and maybe Tuscon daughter met up with victim later on? They only lived 4 miles away. I think Uber driver will have some good info as to what went on Sat night, as perhaps victim chatted about her night plans
