Just my opinion, but it looked like the police had set up cameras on the main house roof vent stack looking into the back yard over the back door that leads into the garage; on the front corner of the guest house roof looking out at the driveway toward the street, and on the side of the guest house roof looking out toward the covered open back porch on the main home. Remember how LE turned the house back over quickly - guessing they set these cameras up and are back today recovering footage from these cameras. LE may have set a trap. Just my thoughts based on what was seen in the drone view footage.

I don’t know NG home address. If anyone is curious, along with me, what goes the Google Maps images show last ? (imo)

In the movie Silence of the Lambs the mother of a missing young women says in her plea to the abductor something similar to what SG said in her plea “ask her you’ll know”. The mother in the movie is also a public figure I believe.
Thank you. A quote from a movie about a serial killer.

Once again, may still be nothing, but air force plane just landed in Tuscon after circling for quite awhile. Was centered mostly around the base, but doesn't match recent flight data/patterns going back this week besides somewhat closely on 02/03 (and it looped south to Sierra Visa, AZ and north to Apache National Forest on that date). Image below shows the loops it's been doing for the last couple of hours.

If they aren’t verifying life what’s the point of these letters? Like do they really want the money or not? If it’s about ransom why wouldn’t they go about it like a legit ransom?

Kidnappers hold all the cards. The family is in no position to make reciprocal demands.

IMO.

Have they said anything yet about a landscaper or housekeeper?

There is so much vegetation on the property that NG wouldn’t be able to maintain on her own so there had to be a groundskeeper. If it’s not family I would look at those who had regular access to

I live in a neighborhood very similar to NG, on a lot size that is nearly identical.

Most similar neighborhoods in AZ have areas designated as unable to be disturbed, where all natural brush needs to stay as is, etc.

For instance, despite having about an acre that we own, about 1/2 can't be disturbed at all and must be fully natural.

Then even within the area of allowed disturbance, x % of plants must be natural/indigenous, and then some we can have a bit more freedom with.

Looking at the CC&R's for NG's neighborhood, she was under what looks like similar restrictions.

TLDR:

While I'm sure she had landscapers, much of her land also had to stay basically totally undisturbed, and she similarly had to have mostly natural plants (which need minimal maintenance)

SC from this pdf of the CC&R's for Catalina Foothills Tucson where NG's home is.

It seems whoever is sending the messages is very attuned to the digital forensic methods LE has access to. Assuming the sender does actually have NG (which is completely unknown at this point and IMO highly unlikely), they may be wary of sending images or video since LE can restore deleted metadata (including the location the photo/video was taken, the time, and the device used to take it). MOO.
I went to the tip page where the message was submitted. There is no way to attach a video or any files.

But why would they go back and get them now? Even if they had solved the case I don’t think they’d be focusing on going back to retrieve them. It’s not like they’d put up cameras that weren’t streaming and saving to something.

Exactly. I guess they have to investigate all leads, but this makes no sense. The longer the kidnapper has her, the more likely they’re getting caught.

Why do you say a thumb…?
You can follow a conversation if you click the up-arrow on any thread. That helps people make sense of things said when people are quoting posts.

Scary version? They don't belong to LE or NG

KOLD Ransom note was sent through newsroom tip system - so not an email after all.

No proof of life in message. Not calling it a "ransom note."

No further demands made.

Message did not offer a way for the family to communicate.

Does contain a detail that would perhaps allow investigators to determine it's the same person who sent the first note.
I’m not trying to make light of the situation, but the family asked for proof of life. It seems this person only provided proof that they sent the initial note, not proof that the victim is alive.

Like the video images maybe were not transmitting live and they are going to now see the data for the first time?

FWIW I don't think they're looking for a body.

I think they're looking for something that the ransomer manipulated.

GHI thinks maybe LE put a camera IN and was removing it.

Very interesting. So the turning the property loose and open might have been a trap LE, thinking, perhaps hoping, the perps might be returning to the property?

Let’s consider for a moment that the two ransom contacts are actually from the perp(s).

What if - this is a flood light. What if it is THE flood light the 1st ransom note was referring to even though everyone seemed focused on the one on the other side of the house? What if in the 2nd ransom note something was said about the flood light again? What if it was something like the perp threw a rock at it to break it out? What if they were on the roof looking for that rock under and around the HVAC? What if they removed the light to see if a rock had fallen inside of it or something? What if they looked in the planter beds and around the building to see if it fell inside there? What if they looked around the yard to see if it bounced off the wall and was on the ground somewhere in that back yard area? What if they found/find it? What if it has fingerprints on it? What if they are carrying around clipboards with the text of the ransom letters on it looking for clues from what was said in them?

Ok it’s a lot of what ifs and my eyes aren’t so good anymore and I can’t zoom in on this photo enough to see if it is a flood light and if so if it had a broken bulb. It looks like a floodlight to me - but I often think a mail box is a dog when I’m driving down the road with my eyesight so give it some thought and take another look and see if you think it might be a flood light.

lol. I think we’re all on the same page. Based on the new note and the immediate return to the scene, it stands to reason they are verifying something.
…and there I went 10 minutes ago, saying the same thing that everyone else has said an hour prior to my post, while simultaneously whining a few hours ago about people commenting on outdated info in single threads 🤦‍♀️

I believe this and / or maybe the ransom note used specific wording from the movie as well? And they were trying to communicate back with them to say “we know what you’re referencing/ saying”. I do think SG seemed a bit awkward and paused, looked directly at the camera, and said those words so deliberately. However, it could have just been a moment of her trying to “humanize”.

Almost certainly the latter. Trying to de-objectify her and appeal to any humanity the perp might have would be something that FBI profilers/negotiators would likely encourage.

JMO.
