AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

This is the second news outlet saying that a letter was well written/structured. That stands out to me.

Are they playing to the ego of the person who wrote it? Are the letters structured in some sort of particularly striking way?

I just don't think that even a "well-written" ransom note would make me publicly comment on the fact that it was well written. Seems like a given that an adult who planned a kidnapping and led law enforcement on a week long wild goose chase could put together some paragraphs.

Maybe the kidnapper is waxing poetic?

All this going back out to the house, getting on a roof then off, then back on, dozens of LE walking around the property with clipboards…it all feels very, you’re a patient at a teaching hospital, the physician has already made their rounds and checked in on you, and now the newbie interns are doing rounds, asking you the same questions and coming up with their theories on what your diagnosis is and what the next steps should be.
very messy and unorganized

I guess I am confused.....don't investigators return often to crime scenes?
Yes but…IMO, not like this. It’s like they’re being very thorough, but sloppy at the same time - releasing the scene, just to come back, twice. And searching the property three times in less than a week - are they not being thorough? I don’t know, just is something I really haven’t seen play out this way before.

Do we have any ideas as to what this camera IS or WAS???
Some thought it was perp watching the house before/after the crime. But most think the LE placed cameras to watch the crime scene. And, some think this is a camera belonging to NG, that may or may not be on a different system.

All I'm saying is that if it is statistically more probable that a kidnapper would return my loved one if I paid a ransom - regardless of whether the kidnapper agreed to show me proof of life (I would of course plead for it) - then I would still pay it if I was able.

JMO.
Yes, but you would have to be sure the actual kidnapper is being paid. It seems like from the brother’s statement, the kidnappers have not directly communicated with the family.

I say again that NBC could pay the ransom and recoup by having the behind the scenes story of what happened. Do it!! Bring her home and see if this is legit.

enough folks. grow up.

1. why is LE/family being so cryptic about who dropped NG at her house that night? if it's not relevant, who cares? meaning, it's relevant...
2. why is LE/family being so cryptic about dinner/uber/pick-up? if it's not relevant, LE wouldn't care. the fact that they won't comment tells us a lot...
3. why is LE/family being so cryptic about...everything?

either SIL or AG picked up or dropped off NG. if an uber driver picked her up at any point, that should be known at this point.

Not unlike the tepe murders, IMO LE knows what they're looking for, they just can't prove it at this point...

this is so fishy it's ridiculous. IMO LE knows exactly what's going on and they simply don't have the evidence...

Whatever it is it's unbelievable that it took too long for them to discover it on the roof.

It was me. 97% successfully returned worldwide when ransom is paid and with professional negotiators. 11% returned if ransom is not paid.

But, “proof of life” is a reasonable request.

If the alleged kidnappers have not provided proof of life, it is another situation.

Right, it is an entirely different situation.

To me it looked like they may have removed something from the roof. They were also scrutinizing the front sidewalk, looking in the rock beds in the back yard, and looking at some plants too.

I'm guessing that something in the newest letter sent them back to the house as the title of the video says "drone shows investigators conducting 'follow-up' investigation at Nancy Guthrie's home". They cleared the street in front of the house of media so there wouldn't be any lookie-loos, but apparently they forgot that drones exist.

I'm really curious about the structure that is behind the house in the bushes. Possibly a tree house? I would hope that it has been investigated, but maybe they'll eventually come back and check that out too? 🙃
that "structure" looks like it is on the neighbor's property and is an animal pen, but just my opinion, best guess.

Didnt it take them a while to find the 'cameras'? Seems like they were told that they were there by someone....

The “very sensitive information” included has me worried

My presumption (MOO) about the Teslas is that since Teslas have dash cams, any Teslas in the neighborhood, or near the Circle K (for whatever they think they are looking for there) might provide video footage relevant to the case.

Re the roof camera, I don't know, other than there must be something more than LE removing a camera they themselves placed (one theory proposed on the thread) because I can't fathom they would need to shut down the entire street just for that. IMO LE was looking for something referenced or hinted at in the latest communication received.

MOO
Question: Do we know why the Circle K? And where is that in relation to AG's?

Again, I don't think the family is involved, but I'm curious.

Does anyone have any insight as to why the rewards have been so skimpy? I think the first reward was like 2500, and the FBI reward is now 50K. I would think Savannah would put up much more money. Someone knows what happened and enough money would probably draw them out.
The higher the reward 💰💰💰, the more false tips come pouring in from psychics, people hoping to get lucky with wild guesses, attention-seeking wackadoodles, etc.

These exploitive losers hoping to score a big payday clog up the Tip Line and force LE to divert resources that could be productively used elsewhere.

The FBI is already dealing with a massive sideshow, largely in part due to the Sheriff's careless use of the words "kidnapping," "abduction," and "taken from her bed," (but don't take him literally, people because "he didn't mean it literally," or something).

They don't need to be chasing down any more rabbit holes than they currently find themselves forced to do.

All of the above = JMO.

Defense attorneys will have a field day with this, ugh
