AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

  • #19,521
Just want to say a welcome to New members, I was new once and lots of established long term members helped me find my footing

This case is overwhelmingly fast paced and we are powering through massive amounts of posts so when questions get repeated we can get a little tetchy as we are looking for the important info

Normally we have more time to show grace and patience

Hopefully you will stay to find that out as WS is a fantastic community with wonderful passionate members who want justice for victims and connections to others who are interested in the genre of crime

what we all want for Nancy is for this crime to be solved 🥰
Because the post is moving so fast, they may not have seen the question asked and answered. I just encourage people to skip over posts and pages that they are not interested in.

Hoping Bitcoin deposit is LE trying to use a deposit to track the wallet owner, rather than the ransom.

I heard an expert on this case saying it was possible which I now can't find of course, will keep searching. So for now JMO and MOO.
It is technically possible depending on the location of the wallet. Many exchanges adopted KYC (know your customer) requirements mandating identity verification before funds can be transferred or withdrawn to comply with anti-money laundering laws, but there are exchanges without KYC. Crypto is easy to trace (because it’s a public blockchain) but can be very difficult to identify who is making transactions.

For example, federal authorities managed to recover about half of the Bitcoin ransom paid a month after the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack, but arrests weren’t made until around 9 months later (although the hackers were in Russia so it required transnational coordination).

he grabs some kind of thread like a string of lights lower right edge of entry way pulls it into porch area to cover camera -they could be decorative flower shaped mini lights -anyhow not important but not flowers IMO
People were talking about the plants on the porch for days before this was posted... Seems like they were ripped up from the lawn.

It's the plant scattered around the front door with the blood. You can visibly see a partial leaf still on the dock of the Nest cam.

NG had a bushel of them where he pulled it from.

It would be pretty easy for the cops to bring the device to any suspected location of NG to see if it connects. JMO
The device has to be within a few feet of the pacemaker to connect. By then, you would have seen Nancy.

No one can track a pacemaker. It doesn't ping off of anything. It's only job is to collect info from the heart and transmit to doctor. Transmitting device was left at her home.
I wouldn’t be so sure. If ithe pacemaker transmits through Bluetooth (likely), it could be advertising, which a local scanner could pick up.

Remote detection? No. Within maybe 50 or so feet? Very possibly.

No one finds it strange that someone ordered pizza to Nancy's house? And the guy who delivered it looks identical to the footage? Same walk and everything? He also bypassed security and press to walk up to door? Obviously it's likely he's innocent, but it would be crazy to just overlook it.
Suspects always return to the scene, and most of them insert themselves into the investigation, some get interviewed and others will attend search parties. Did anyone question if he was a legitimate dominos delivery driver?

the link of him walking:
Some moronic fan of one of the “reporters” there. His fans are as distasteful as he is.

Not exactly true it does send other signals. I wouldn't say Noone, id say its not typical. Im not saying it can be tracked like GPS, but there are ways to communicate with it. Its been done in a lab setting. Ive only studied it in a research class for cybersecurity. There are software and hardware updates that send to it, so it does communicate.

A YouTuber (JLR) that someone posted ~400 pages ago on this forum and was asked not to post, lol.
I read about him afterwards and he is not a cool sounding guy. But….he’s there.

Can edit the name out if anyone wants me to, am new and learning ropes.
Oh yeah, even I know he's not an approved source, but I only learned that from this thread a few days ago! Is it worth watching? A live feed is a live feed, although it might be responsible on his part.

My husband said "oh, and there's the car...", and at one point the person looks back that way so, possibly, being told to hurry by a driver?
I agree that seems to be some kind of vehicle. I've been wondering if the perps had used something like a Kubota, Polaris or all-terrain. The profile of what we see in photo doesn't familiar. A Kubota or Polaris or similar would allow off road / sand traverse if needed.

Fox reporting less than $300 bucks in bitcoin wallet
Could be a test deposit (which sometimes happens before making a big deposit to confirm the adres of the wallet) or a trace deposit (maybe tracing a deposit notification, maybe see connection to a crypto exchange)
Idk - jmo

I’m thinking the $300 was a setup by FBI? Could a bitcoin account holder see a deposit amount without logging in?

  • #19,535
Would the bitcoin account holder have to withdraw/move said amount to a different account in order for LE to be able to trace it, or is the act of them depositing some enough?
They would have to move it, access it, typically. But, FBI has very advanced capabilities.

From my experience with the people I've cared for over the years, most Pacemaker/Defibs have a radius around 25 ft to 100 ft varies on the device, but the data doesn't transmit unless the Pacemaker/Defib is around the radius of the connected device.

  • #19,537
I mean, if they think the person is from Tucson and holding her in Tucson, couldn't they even drive around with her phone or whatever collects the pacemaker information and try to get a ping? Especially if they have a narrow-ish radius? (I realize this may be a really dumb idea!)
Device has to be within a few feet to connect to pacemaker.

Backpack looks like that of what a school kid would wear- like maybe highschooler. No one takes the time to remove a doorbell camera unless it was to coverup an earlier crime in which time was not of essence. So many other entry points to the house. This case is bizarre and sadly, I don't think NG died at her home nor was removed from home against her will. I think she died 1/31/26...after the last know proof of life which is with Uber driver who simply dropped her off. No concrete proof revealed to public that NG returned home. NG had bedtime routine, so unless there's proof of her routine and that she went to bed, I think her death was on 1/31/26. I think it was a financially driven.

$300 is only about 5100 Mexican pesos. Not that that means anything here...

Apologies. Not meant to be insensitive. Just thought it would be funny if someone in LE was messing with this clown.

JMO.

Such a strange case. All of this searching around Annie’s house along with the photos in her garage the other night logically makes one think they suspect her/SIL or someone very close to them. But with the footage released today I can’t stop thinking how easy it would be to verify who it was if they already had an idea of who it was. Like if that was the SIL in the video, I’d expect there to be an arrest by now
