Just to tap the breaks a bit. We saw this exact same thing in the Brown University case, and they wound up being wrong.

I’ll feel more confident once we figure out what led them to him.

No one knows, but seems to be in the general areas of where the suspect was detained. Mostly hope that Nancy is alive.

Did they have a suspect in mind, and then sent a small deposit to the Bitcoin account, waited outside, until the suspect retrivied, it, matched the IP address to that location, then went in to detain/question?

Very very unlikely. Bitcoin isn't "retrieved" in this way, and even the bitcoin exchanges and platforms that collect more data on their users (most services related to bitcoin would try to be as private as possible) would not give up info on a user this quickly without a court order.

Also, if the BTC address owner had moved the money in any way, the transaction would be public to TMZ and anyone else with the address. Not worth it for $300.

I saw those. One is a black hawk (wouldn't be used here) and another is a lakota doing approaches at an airport.

If helicopters were related to this case we'd see Sheriff or FBI aircraft. Maybe a UH-72 but only if it's next to LE helicopters also.
