Hopefully it was more innocent and just like “hey, I know this person that may work in the area who had a white van and maybe similar features to the video”. I don’t see how this info alone would warrant what happened, though. I believe the individual declined to comment why he was detained; does anyone have links to any articles that state specifically what led to his detainment/LE’s suspicion? If there isn’t anything more than I worry you are right
In the ABC15 video, at around 1:50, he says something like "they only had a phone on me", but that he might have been delivering something in the area. So possibly his phone placed him somewhere near NG's home at some point, but unclear when.

Edit: link to transcript of the interview here

Are the FBI/LE just throwing spaghetti at the wall now?

Trying to grasp understanding of what went down last night, my brain feels like a plate of spaghetti.....

Was it specifically, FBI who detained this guy.

Nancy's church had two services in person and viewable online. One at 9:00 a.m. and one at 10:45 a.m.

Has it been verified which service she would normally watch with her friend?
Nancy would go to a friends home where a group would meet to watch the streaming church service of SG's NY church IIRC.

Yeah, sounds like his phone number was scooped up in a tower dump or geofence warrant and he checked several boxes that made him a worthy line of inquiry.

… they ARE looking for a vulnerable victim who has without meds for over ten days ….
All the more reason not to waste resources on false leads or to put innocent people in danger.

Thanks for clarifying.

How do you know a lead is false if you never investigate it?

No word on Uber driver. I still think its strange AG would not pick up NG for a dinner which was all of 10 min drive. Just bizarre
So, this has been speculated about soooo much! It's as simple as it is light out when NG went to her family's house, and it was dark when she returned. As an older woman, I feel completely comfortable taking an Uber in daylight (and it was with a woman driver, which she could have requested). When it is dark, however, I try to avoid taking an Uber and arriving to my home where I live alone by myself. I would feel better having a friend or family member drive me to see that I get in safely. I think it is as simple as that.

It's all about getting their first these days for news media.
Their first what? Sorry, did I miss something they wanted?

The FBI has since clarified they are looking for multiple "persons of interest," suggesting that while Palazuelos may have been cleared, the leads generated by his data or the public's response to his detention are still being funneled into the larger search.

Possibly 6? 6 million Bitcoin ransom?

Please someone correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t it take a few days to get a warrant for cell phone records/triangulation?

i understand BE has been reliable in the past, and i'll repeat myself again, i don't think he's acting in bad faith or is a bad person or anything like that.

however, it serves no one to have a reporter on no sleep broadcasting live outside an active investigation. he should go home and get some rest, so he can perform to the best of his abilities. he doesn't need to live stream every second of this case, it makes it seem like he's more interested in being the first to break juicy new updates, rather than actually reporting accurate information.

JMO but it definitely changed the view i had of him from the beginning of the case, and i'll feel less confident about info from him going forward.
Last night I watched everything unfold on television. I thought I had the most up to date info. Then I saw that Brian was on site, so I switched over to him. That was where I first saw that this just might not be the guy. Networks were still framing it as the suspect had been found. We-and I mean the world-want our info in real time. If we don’t get it, we will look elsewhere. Our attention spans are different now. I’ll trust Brian over some YouTuber with no integrity. Brian field reports rather than reading off a teleprompter. I want him on that wall.

Not in exigent circumstances/threats to life. It also has been like a week and some change since NG disappeared.

I meant if someone called in a tip based on the video released yesterday, I would think it would take more time to get a warrant and the info

They have more than likely recovered more nest video footage.

I ask myself what can be learned from the detainment and release of this guy?

Are investigators specifically looking for a delivery guy?

Or was this just purely that someone called in and said looks like this guy and or I saw his vehicle near the crime?

I don’t think that guy looked anything like the guy on video

  • #21,218
i wonder if someone will recognise the guy in the footage in the coming days.. i’m guessing a tight mask + being filmed in black and white, in the dark, by a doorbell cam + a situation where people around you might not expect you at all, can make you pretty hard to recognise!

i feel for carlos and his family, and i feel for NG’s family who probably got their hopes up for a little while to there :(

Not necessarily. It could be a matter of hours from getting the warrant sworn out to complete analysis since they’re operating under the assumption NG is alive and in danger. A warrant may have not even been necessary at first depending on what is requested and the circumstances - sometimes providers will willingly hand over the information with law enforcement swearing it’s a covered exception.

Ok I just saw on fox news per the person detained, A tipster called in and thought his eyes looked like the person on camera.

Well that clears that up, a big fat nothingburger
