Does anyone find it odd that AG and BIL have not made statements considering some people in the public believe they had something to do with it? SG has a couple times holding out hope mom was alive. I mean, did LE tell them not to say anything? All so odd. There's almost always someone that speaks out. Hell, fD claimed he was innocent. This is such a weird case.

The Sheriff has indicated that SIL is not a suspect and that rumors to that effect are untrue. I imagine they, iike her brother, are letting Savannah speak for the family since she has a larger public profile. On the (substantial) chance that NG was targeted due to her being SG's mother, it makes sense for a variety of reasons why the other family members might choose less public visibility.

It also took them a long time to remove the Nest plate for testing. I understand they might not have been aware of what the camera captured, but it doesn’t take a genius to conclude that whoever perpetrated the crime also removed the camera. Footage wasn’t needed for that deduction, and still isn’t.

It’s almost like this was crime scene processing from decades ago. On second thought, that’s an insult to previous generations of investigators.

Some decades-old cases have been solved with FGG because very forward-thinking investigators immediately bagged items that A) had no obvious connection, and B) couldn’t even be tested with then-current tech. But lo and behold, many years later, their proactive police work caught the killer.

Not seeing that winning attention to detail here, and “golden hour” is long past.

Yeah, the recent yoghurt shop murders solve was absolutely due to the cops at the time using every new resource and forensic technique they had access to and preserving absolutely everything they could, even though the technology wasn't there yet to test it. The documentary series made that clear, though it was completed before they announced the case was resolved.

This, in contrast... Shambolic seems an understatement.

The sheriff reportedly sent the evidence in question to a private lab in Florida. It included DNA evidence and gloves recovered in a search close to the home just north-east of Tucson from where Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie’s mother, was reported missing on 1 February.

I guess some neighbors have been asked about checking cameras for a grey truck. Fox News Nancy Guthrie disappearance: FBI reveals description of suspect and backpack he was wearing

“"Crime Stories with Nancy Grace" host Nancy Grace said federal authorities are looking for a gray truck in connection with Nancy Guthrie's disappearance.

I saw this news report as well. I’m confused to why there aren’t more reports about this gray truck. Maybe because they only want to hear from locals, and avoid too many non relevant tips of gray trucks.

I lived in Northern VA during the DC Sniper time period, and the “white box truck” blew up in the news. (And perps never drove a white box truck. They are common enough that they just happened to be present at all or most of the crime scenes.)

I bet that's the guy; same facial hair, big butt, eyes, right height. t looks like he's carrying the light colored pants that he has on in the NG images. But I wonder why he's not suited up in this one.

Yes, they could have! But then why not taking NG back out through the backyard gate? Too far to carry? But then he knew that already before it occurred (i.e. he would have to carry/take NG) when fiddling with the front door bell cam..or so it’s seems.

Because of the damage to the bricks at the broken lights it has been speculated that it’s possible the damage occurred during the apparently very recent resurfacing of the roof. Possibly equipment being hoisted up by pulley to the roof, etc.

Information about any damages, conversations by LE with the contractors, possible pending actions to correct the damage in one way or another is unknown to us.

It seems the damage to the bricks surrounding the base of the lights go beyond just breaking the lights and would take a great deal of force directly to the location which would be out of reach from the ground, imo.

It could be that the ransom note was telling of such damage as part of the knowledge of the scene perhaps gained when placing the small camera if indeed it was placed by the perp, or noticed that night during their entry from the back.

The perp/ransom note writer might be a roofer, or roofer adjacent, who damaged it.

I’m wondering how that kind of damage to the bricks would be undertaken or be necessary to just disable the lights? The surrounding bricks seem to be in good shape.

Of course I have no idea and am not asserting strongly if it was or wasn’t the perp that damaged it or finished it off if it was damaged previously before I get jumped on for commenting on it!

I think the crime could be related to roofers, roofer adjacent, or other specialty contractor, she had work done, even going back a couple of years. Some beef with them, or they just got the idea to harm her, no idea why. Not gardeners, pool, housecleaners, regular staff.

This is another reason I go back and forth on the supposed ransom notes. I truly believe NG had her children’s contact information in her phone. If the perp(s) really wanted to reach SG or any of her children for ransom money, I would imagine it would have been easy enough for them to get access to that information and possibly even use a prepaid burner phone to contact them. The TMZ and other media emails for bitcoin has honestly confused me and makes me keep questioning if her disappearance and ransom are even connected.
Unless of course NG had her phone locked and was either unwilling or unable to provide that info. Idk, it’s just strange to me.

Pretty much any sus male caught on ring video within a 10 mile radius is connected if you listen to some people. Guys that look nothing alike yet all supposedly look like NG’s abductor.

Interesting clue, local. 6 miles away is pretty far. The 2 backpack man was in s Tucson, 5+ miles away. I would like to see a Tucson map of all these incidents from Jan. I got the impression that Tucson has a lot of crime, mainly on the s side.

If the man filmed maskless on someone else’s porch is the NG perp, i wonder if he follows victims home from somewhere. Select likely people and follow to see if their home seems worth burglarizing. Then home in on the few with the right combination of affluence, isolation and vulnerability.

The date of the 11th has been invalidated. That was a request put out by a neighbor, not LE. LE dates are Jan 1 - February 1

I have rationalized the SIL (maybe AG) being involved vs. not. The night before NG is abducted, she has an idyllic night of games and dinner at AG/SIL home. They are presumably the last to see her alive. Still unclear who brought her home. The garage up/down for such a short period of time still bothers me.

We know they are going to be questioned no matter what. It's possible LE believes the suspect has a connection to their neighborhood. Maybe he saw NG often at their home and that unfortunately grabbed his interest. And this is the reason they are searching around AB’s home. The connection is proximity only.

However, I cannot show any serious interest in following this case and not consider SIL (maybe AG) of potentially being involved in some way. I do not think the suspect in the FBI released video is the SIL but that does not mean there is no connection to NG being abducted and IMO murdered.

LE has repeatedly gone back to their home. I have lost count how many times. LE is also going inside the home. That tells me LE has some evidence that is bringing them there…. over and over. IMO

LE may be going back over and over to retrieve personal items for AG and TC and family. They have basically been ran off their property by reporters, IMO. If you do a random search of "Annie Guthrie home" on X (just speculation) you might see the tone there right now.

I would imagine the abductor, trying to prevent leaving any DNA from stray hairs, etc., wore fresh clothes to NG’s house. (However bumbling they may be in some ways, they seem to have managed not to leave DNA that got found–and some article said the ransom note bragged about that, though I don’t know if that was validated.) I was initially thinking the jacket was likely to be from Walmart since the backpack seems to be. I agree with others that the overall jacket style is pretty basic–but the zipper is not. It’s got contrasting piping on each side of the zipper rather than the zipper itself being high-contrast. I could not find any like it at Walmart online, with both the horizontal dark line across and the contrast zipper style. But I did find a soft shell that’s sold in Europe that is very similar to that style. I believe Pitch Stone is a Scandinavian brand. I do not know if it’s sold in the US. (I’m an American who moved to Scandinavia.)
