From my understanding, each pacemaker has a serial number and that is encrypted to a Bluetooth monitoring device. But the device itself does not have an IP address, only the monitor. The monitor only receives from its specific paired pacemaker which has its own encryption.

Curious what is keeping a media outlet from ponying up $50,000 as either an investment towards potential profit generated from ad revenue received simply from reporting that they took a small (for them) financial risk, or for the altruistic reasons of potentially returning a victim, in whatever condition, to their contemporary's family for closure (and, of course, the ad revenue that subsequent reporting on it would bring to the company because of their goodwill)?

To the best of my knowledge, a pacemakers phone app installed on a phone belonging to Patient X is unique to the pacemaker implanted in Patient X and no one else. Four lucky people with pacemakers playing bridge cannot sap one another.

Cold turkey, stopping Gabapentin can lead to seizures. Blood thinners, probably take a while to cause an issue. Pacemaker would still work if she is alive( small shock if heart needs it, to regulate ) just not recording data to phone ( left behind).

I don’t remember if she is diabetic? Lack of insulin can be fatal for some, in a few days…

She was on meds that were very common for an elderly in “good” health. IIRC, She did not need major drugs, ie for cancer.

Doctor’s daughter here, we talk health, meds, so general knowledge here only.

JMO she is probably on something like metoprolol, Eliquis… not taking either for the time she’s been missing is putting her at risk for an event…doesn’t mean one will happen. Which I why I’m hopeful she is still safe, but very sad that if she is she is likely terrified.

Pacemakers do not transmit 24/7. Each one is individually synched to a specific monitor. The pacemaker just sits there collecting data and applying tiny signals through the leads into the heart muscle to increase/decrease/steady the heartbeat. It isn't transmitting data in real time. On a schedule determined by the doctor the monitor will ask the pacemaker to send data via RF to the monitor (once a month, once a week, once a day, it varies). The monitor will then send the data to the monitoring company via WiFi. Nobody's pacemaker interferes with anyone else's. IMO

This guy says that the FBI raising the reward was to discredit him.

He now wants $100,000. $50,000 in bitcoin & the other 1/2 real $. He promises not to withdraw that 1/2 until kidnapper is arrested.

Was it a Boy Scout Promise? If so, they should proceed.

I will decline to comment on Elon, but Bluetooth does not use IP, so no, a Bluetooth device does not have an IP address (there are some exceptions, but it's not a core part of Bluetooth). And Bluetooth is a completely different technology and set of protocols than Starlink uses, so I can't imagine any way this could work. MOO

My thought is that Elon has a different way of coming up with ways to bypass normal technology. JMO

That's what I understood. I had to research today again, but at approx 2am on Sunday, NG pacemaker had a spike (or reaction). The doctor explaining it said it could mean she was struggling with someone, or it might just be her pacemaker set to send data. MSN
