Don’t people usually (always?) get detained, questioned, or arrested, before being cleared? I might be completely wrong but I can’t think off the top of my head of any time I’ve heard of someone being “cleared” pre-emptively without them having first been taken in for questioning/made a POI or something along those lines, where the wording is usually something like “detained for questioning but later cleared of wrongdoing”, “questioned as a person of interest but later cleared”, words to that effect.

I would like to know if they took a DNA sample from DE (convicted felon and bandmate)
I don't know why they would. But if he's a convicted felon his DNA is already in the system. JMO

After hearing about this new letter to TMZ and a request for $100k, I believe that person was part of the kidnapping or conspiracy to do so. Otherwise, he would just ask for the reward. But he does not want to get caught. He likely realizes there won’t be a huge payout to him, as promised, from the perpetrator himself or whoever planned this kidnapping.

Hmm.. does that mean they have the DNA of everyone who has been in the house, including her friends, service providers, workers, neighbors, an electrician who may have only come once eg, and so on. ? I doubt it.
Known contributors could simply mean her family.

It did say a while back that they were taking the DNA of the workers etc.
It's unfortunate the DNA wasn't a match with anyone on the criminal database.

No, you don't have to bring your monitor to the clinic. The doctor's office uses a wand that is placed over the pacemaker to gather the data. This is how it's done for patients that don't opt for remote monitors or apps. We use the same wand in the morgue to do a final interrogation of the pacemaker and to turn it off. IMO
Interesting, thank you!

I can only think of a few scenarios where this could even be remotely useful, but I suppose one could scan the very immediate vicinity for the pacemaker's response. It'd have to be a situation where LE was about 10 feet from Nancy but unable to quickly access the location, either because of legal or physical restrictions (e.g., no warrant or body hidden under floorboards, etc.). Almost 0% chance of being useful, but I appreciate your patience with me trying to understand the limitations of the low-power transmission.

The mouth flashlight makes me think of someone who works in some kind of trade. Tradesmen stick small flashlights in their mouths all the time so they can use both hands while working in a dark or shadowy area. For example, think plumber under a cabinet or electrician in a dark attic.
As a matter of fact, I’m thinking our suspect may regularly carry one in his pocket as opposed to going out and purchasing one as part of his kit for this crime. He made some poor clothing and backpack choices.
Would he really think, “Oh, I should put a mouth flashlight on my list, too.”?
Also thought the suspect at the front door might be a tradesmen like an electrician and plumber who works in dark spaces. He seemed quite adept with using it in his mouth.

Agree that he likely already had a mouth flashlight. MOO

The problem here is how does one know if it is real or not?

On one hand it could be a scammer trying to scam money and doesn't have any real information at all.

On the other hand if this person knows who is involved, it stands to reason that this person is also involved and likely participated in the home invasion and abduction too.
If person is involved, person is not going for the reward because sheriff would nail him. No reward. If Bitcoin - a favorable chance of money. SG has enough $ to go for this,

“Authorities are taking DNA samples from hired workers around Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home as the desperate search for Savannah’s mom continues.”
This makes me never want to go in anyone's house and shed skin cells or hair!! Im too paranoid!!! Haha

The pacemaker tech has been very interesting to learn about.

Loving the suggestion of cloning the app from Nancy’s phone onto all the plod’s devices and send them off on a search, I hope they are reading this thread!

If a family member killed their mother for money, do you think they could maintain innocence at family gatherings. That's one hell of a pokerface.
If they are guilty, then yes they could do anything! I keep hearing the SIL referred to as the planner of this crime and maybe his band mate as the one who went to NG’s home.
I pray that is wrong.

No TMZ, it doesn't match. Neither in the sleeves nor the elastic bottom. IMO
I’m not sure about this. I think I can see an elastic hem, but it appears pretty loose in the blurry pic. Not sure, of course.

What appears to be a blue shirt is hyperlinked in the Fox video on my previous post. It's just sitting there in a heap on a ridge by the walkway leading up to Nancy's front door, at about the 11 second mark. I cannot find it mentioned or referenced anywhere.

I have no idea if it even has any significance. For all we know, some random reporter milling about got hot and took off a piece of layering and threw it to the side. I'm not even positive it's a shirt. Is it some cloth investigators used and abandoned. The crime scene has not been secured the majority of the time, so I have no idea when that shirt looking thing got there or if it was left by anyone or if it could be Nancy's. I just find it bizarre that with thousands of posts, it has not even been questioned or mentioned. But it may be unrelated or have zero value.
It was only recently that we started hearing about that shirt. Have we heard LE talk about this blue shirt? MO

Curious what is keeping a media outlet from ponying up $50,000 as either an investment towards potential profit generated from ad revenue received simply from reporting that they took a small (for them) financial risk, or for the altruistic reasons of potentially returning a victim, in whatever condition, to their contemporary's family for closure (and, of course, the ad revenue that subsequent reporting on it would bring to the company because of their goodwill)?

Would it be a crime? I honestly don't know.

I would think they would take direction from the FBI.

Would it be possible to bring a gurney to transport her after disabling with a blow to the head or something?

The tracks…could they be a gurney?
They would not have taken the time to do that. Have we ever seen a killer use a gurney in a home situation?

Setting aside the need for clicks/views, I truly wonder why Harvey at TMZ thinks its the right decision to publicize the supposed ransom notes.

Questions:
1. Is it adding anything positive to the actual investigation for the public to know about these? Or does it harm it?

2. Does he get approval from LE prior to announcing on air?

If anyone knows of any interviews on Youtube or otherwise where pundits have discussed that, please share.

I agree and have seen former LE/FBI etc stating he should keep it zipped!

It's not adding to investigation imo and LE should gag it.

A crucial aspect of ransom being effective is it's secrecy.

I get what you’re saying, but at the same time there was a $50k reward and now a $100k reward for information. The feds can and do keep tips anonymous. So why not give them information and get the cash reward? This is just a control trip at the expense of an unsolved, active investigation.
Best to start a Go Fund Me for Carlos, the Door Dash guy.

More likely, one of the detectives had an equipment cart on wheels for camera equipment, lighting, fingerprint kit, etc.

Yes and no. Sometimes family can be indirectly involved and/or more than one person or persons can be involved.

In Dan Markel's murder five people were arrested and convicted and only one of those was the shooter and family was involved behind the scenes.

Not saying that is the case here. Just sayin.

moo

Conspiracies happen, no doubt, but why have someone take out your Mom/MIL and then have that person risk your exposure by conjuring up a national media ransom demand, and then remove and hide the body where no one can locate it?

'Ain't getting no money' any time soon if that was the reason you concocted your crime.

If you're going to have someone take out your Mom/MIL, then you're not going to want them to turn it into a national media spectacle and one in which you were the last person or persons to see her alive. You're also going to have a really solid alibi in place, like "I was fly fishing in Uzbekistan, here are my Orvis receipts", or something.

JMO.
