Good points. I’m not sure if it’s “known” what vehicle model dropped her off, but it seems like it’d be sleuthable.

If the garage door opens fairly quickly, then two minutes to pull in, help Nancy out, and reverse out of the garage doesn't seem crazy to me. That’d be enough time to see her open the house door. She’d need to wait for the SIL to back out of the garage before closing the door, so she might’ve waited at the house door, waving goodbye to the SIL. She wouldn’t want the garage door open for long once the SIL left.
Personally from what I remember about photos of garage’s interior w/her car still parked in it—I think it would be easier for her to get out of the car dropping her off outside the garage vs going into the garage—
Having to open the passenger door wide enough for a senior woman using a cane to get out means you don’t want obstruction on the right/passenger side…and having to deal with a car door (maybe heavy) to close before you can actually move around the car and go into the house is another kind of obsticle.
Especially if the driver dropping Nancy off was getting out and helping her. Then you have TWO doors opening inside a more confined space. And depending on the vehicle, some cars/SUVs require lot of space for doors to open wide enough to get out.

Just easier to go close to the garage door, open it, and wait for NG to get out wo having another car blocking her movement…

To be fair, the reported is asking him when hes going to find her. If he knew that, he would have already found her, right? He doesnt want to give false hope or spook a perpetrator by saying, "Yep, we will have this thing wrapped up Monday." I think the guy has a really difficult task at hand here because honestly, it's unlike any other case. Its very unusual. Im trying my best to give him and LE a chance. Many cases go completely insolved forever as you can see on this site. :)
Yeah, I think it was very bad PR (as we can see from the response just in this thread) for the sheriff to say it could take years, but anyone who hangs out on this site regularly knows that it is the truth. We all hope that isn't how it plays out, but we can't deny that it's the reality. We have no idea when or even if this case will be solved, unfortunately. I'm holding out hope but also trying to be realistic with myself.

I do think that in this, and many other situations, the sheriff should be much more careful with his words, though. Even when it's the truth, it's not always helpful to put it out into the world.

I posted information to a different thread about two tools I've found useful for generating and searching through YouTube transcripts. The link is here. It's off-topic so please don't reply here.

Of course! It’s the internet connection that’s what’s important. Wi-Fi is just the means of connecting a device to the router, which then connects the phone to the internet, which allows you to use VOIP when cell service is absent.

If the internet connnection went down, your phone would still connect to the router via Wi-Fi, but it wouldn’t be able to connect to the internet or make calls using VOIP. If the power went out, the router would shut down, and your phone wouldn’t have a Wi-Fi channel to connect to.
Where I live we only have phone service if Internet is working and we have power. If either goes out we have no cellphone service. I’m not sure about NG’s area. (Adobe walls are tough on cell service.) Disconnecting NG’s internet could disrupt phones and door cam, no? Sorry to be dense!

Why all the emphasis upon the perp? Why not searches and Tucson requests to look around properties? Organized searches ringing Tucson? Along Mt Lemon? Note it's 26 miles from top to bottom of Mt Lemon - a lot deserted. Where is NG? Finding NG is a time element: meds, age. The perp can be found later.
Possibly because they feel that if they find the person, they find NG

However, the Sheriff did say in the Ed Lavandera interview posted earlier, that the doorbell cam was not the only camera at the house and that attempts were underway to extract images from that camera or cameras. He didn't specifically say whether those camera(s) were interior or exterior. MOO
True! The OP asked a narrower question though: whether LE stated or MSM reported that there was a camera inside the residence or that a camera was smashed. Other posts treated the opinions reported in the Radar Online article as if they are factual. The article itself is explicit that it is presenting opinion.

I believe they're referring to this, not GPS

Brian Entin on X: "Investigators have used what is called a “signal sniffer.” It is a small device that was sent in and attached to the Sheriff’s helicopter. It can detect Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker signal. The helicopter has to stay low and move slowly for it to work." / X https://share.google/mxW2QD92ltQ5HRdBI
Interesting! I do wish maybe they had kept that secret. I mean if the perp sees this and well...............knows her pacemaker is emitting a signal maybe he or she will try and disable it? MOO
I pray it works.

Curious why would a kidnapper also send the ransom note to TMZ of all media outlets? That has had me stumped and just seems weird. That and the $6 million Bitcoin ransom. I think the ransom wasn't the main motivation here. He ll, it all seems weird and disorganized to me. Poor dear Nancy. :(

JMO

When nothing was reported publicly after he sent the ransom letter to two Arizona stations on Monday evening he went to TMZ with it the next day.

The two Arizona stations went straight to LE with the letter and didn't share this information yet with the public.

On Tuesday when TMZ received it they contacted LE about it but went live with it that same day.

Publicity and possibly financial gain could be the motives for the ransom author.

This could be said about any police sketch. I think her sketch is excellent, and in the end I believe you will see how brilliant it is.
If interested, you can learn about how these forensic sketches are created, and then her sketch may make more sense to you.

Amateur opinion and speculation
It's a great sketch and she absolutely knows what she is doing-the problem is the perp was wearing a mask, possibly two. So, we don't really know if this is what the person actually looks like.

I've been looking at maps and thinking about where the Perps would have gone with Nancy. And yes, it would have taken more than one person in my opinion. I'm including a link to instant street view / aerial view, plus a section I annotated. There is lots of areas very near to her house where she could have been deposited, if in fact that is what happened to her. I don't think they would have headed in the direction of Tucson. Too risky. Here's where I would go looking.

As always, just amateur opinion and speculation.

Pulling an old post of mine forward. I don't think LE has been searching far enough in the hills. Here's where I'd be searching.
It's remote, no close by eyes to observe. I don't think she was buried, I think it was dump and go. Sorry to be so graphic, and let's hope I completely wrong and she is recovered alive.

ETA: It looks like my original annotated map didn't get pulled forward. I'm suggesting they look above (north) of NG's home in the hills there.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I wonder at what point outside reporters like BE will leave the area if this thing is still unsolved a month or two from now. Surely there will be other cases. It’s really sad. The sheriff saying that this may not be solved for years was disheartening.

I'm curious about the January 11th camera footage that LE is seeking. January 11 was a Sunday. Did the women with whom NG watched church services take turns hosting? Did NG ever host the Sunday morning gatherings? Did she attend or host the women with whom she watched religious services on January 11?

Agree. And it wouldn't take much time for NG to enter the house and close the garage door. Over 2 minutes seems like plenty of time. Taking her to the garage just makes it easier for her with no steps to deal with, except, possibly the threshold from garage to house. Maybe one step. JMO

Hello from across the pond.

Been following this case sporadically as made the press here in the U.K days after the disappearance of NG.

Actually had a good look at this thread for first time on Friday evening which was timed well with the spike in potential suspects in Tuscon.

My main point is this really a kidnap as seems there isn't much communication at all with police or family? Unless there was botched communication in early days and now that communication has seemingly ceased which I'm afraid likely only means one thing. Just vaguely demanding crypto, has to be more than that surely the police haven't revealed?

I would agree this feels more targeted attack on SG due to her status. Someone trying to get back at her from the past by targeting her mother.

Seems a bit odd if this was just botched burglary to take the house occupant away rather than just leave them in the house for authorities to discover a day or so later.

Probably not going to be a positive eventual outcome now and imagine the family are bracing themselves for that.

Yes, it's starting to remind me of the Summer Wells case which is now cold. And the Delphi case which took over five years.

You expect these cases to be resolved quickly.

And it seems when they aren't, they often go cold altogether, or take years to resolve.

10 days ago, mainstream media outlets widely reported that there had been a forced entry into Nancy's house. Then the sheriff said during a press conference that law enforcement wasn't going to discuss whether there was a forced entry or not.

So the kidnappers could have forced their way into the house and that happening was reported by multiple news outlets.

Haven't got caught up yet just wanted to reshare the alert that LE gave neighbors last week where they mention specific times and dates to check for any footage they may have.

Sidenote: January 11th is national human trafficking awareness day. Seniors are sometimes trafficked for fraud.
I have to wonder if the picture of the kidnapper (the one without the gun and backpack) is from January 11.
Possibly a peeping Tom type who stepped up his game.

There are plenty of women out there so intimidated by their adult sons that they might cooperate and help hide/care for a kidnap victim. The world is teeming with irrational, damaged and low-intelligence people, unfortunately.
I agree, and I think the opposite could also be true as well. There’s plenty of sons that could also intimidated and or coerced by their mothers.

I’m on that hill with you.
I agree with what the poster has said about the sheriff and i am thinking this may be a crime of revenge. Maybe she upset someone. Maybe SG covered a story someone had issues with. Maybe CG upset someone. Maybe AG upset someone. Porch guy was likely paid to do whatever he did and had help. It’s frightening but we live in a world of hate and anger. Crimes are said to be mostly personal but people are losing their minds over simple things now. But why does an 84 year old have to pay for that? I hope I’m wrong.
Please bring Nancy home!

True, but what would it prove at this point, for instance, if someone produced footage of a church lady coming to her house to see a Livestream of the service, or giving her a ride there?
