Most of those found were searcher's gloves? Give a hoot. Don't pollute.

JMO.

We have an anti-litter slogan here, "Don't Mess with Texas." 😁

There were 2 houses in the SWAT raid and both had a mother/son aspect. Interesting.

  • #30,523
I tend to think so too. A trio of guys who have some criminal activity under their belts but aren't professional kidnappers or genius masterminds.
This seems like the most likely outcome. There could be a personal element to it, but the perps will be local.

Waiting for MSM or LE confirmation of the date of transfer of ownership of the Range Rover. None of the sources so far are considered mainstream media. The same goes for the identities of the people living in the raided house. Mainstream media and LE are both quiet on that.

It would also be good to know when and from whom NG bought the blue Subaru that was in her garage.

Interesting.
To better illustrate, here's a screenshot from my actual phone. Those times on there are the time that the phone got the notification, not the time that the door opened or closed. If it took three minutes for the notification to arrive (which is not common, but does sometimes happen), the time on the notification would be inaccurate by 3 minutes compared to when the door actually opened or closed.

Mine is a device specific app and I do not receive notifications. It just has a listing in the app of the history.

I can’t stop wondering about the reported two raids, as well as the search of NG’s neighbor’s house, all included a Mother & Son/SIL living together. Thoughts anyone??
I originally thought they searched HER neighbor's house but "the neighbor" with the son refers to Friday's raid. It was a neighbor talking about his neighbor and how distraught she was over the raid.

MOO going off article I read that was worded strangely.

Does anyone know if the mysterious DNA found at NG's was sent to the FLA Lab? If, so I wonder if FL lab tested for a match with the glove DNA. JMO
Yes, DNA testing is being done by the same lab specifically to speed up testing and analysis of various items.

Helpful and interesting.

If the abductor killed NG, they likely wanted to get NG's body out of their car as soon as possible. So, this article suggests that LE will likely find NG's body in an isolated area that is convenient to the abductor and near where they live, work or on a familiar travel route.

If they got rid of NG's body on their way home, near their home, workplace or a familiar travel route, it's unlikely that it would be on the highway going up to Mt Lemon. It's about 18-19 miles from NG's house to the beginning of the more remote and steep areas of Catalina Highway going up toward Mt Lemon. This area is not on most people's travel routes or near where most people live and work, and would likely not be on the abductor's radar. If the abductor lived in the area between Tanque Verde and Catalina Highway or further east, of course it's possible, but it just doesn't seem that it would be convenient to the abductor.

MOO
I agree. If you have a body or hostage in your vehicle, you don’t want to be stopped by LE. You want to hide them as soon as possible. However, it also depends on your relationship to the victim. Do you want to revisit the site for some reason or do you want the victim to be as far away as possible so there would be little to no connection to you.
I used the road to Mt Lemon as an example in reply to the post by @Trino

So unprofessional. Not only is that an environmentally damaging practice it's costly to process all those gloves for DNA in a lab. IMO
I'll agree that it's not nice to litter Mother Nature. I do not believe they are processing all the gloves for DNA. This article HERE referencing what they believe to be searchers gloves, etc, does not say what color the gloves are. Are they all black...we don't know. Do they all resemble the gloves in the video...evidently not since only 1 pair was sent away. LE personnel I have seen in the clips posted by msm, YouTubers, etc appear to be wearing blue gloves.

Th

They also could have left the ransom note at the scene. Strangely this seemed more elaborate.
I think deliberately leaving physical evidence, like a note, at the scene is unlikely, both for the chance of fingerprints/DNA/printer code matching etc, and for the fact that you’d probably want both the disappearance and your later ransom demand to make a mark as separate news stories in their own right, to increase the impact of the demand. I also think you’d want the family to have a day or so of worry and terror, not knowing what has happened, fearing the worst, before sending your ransom demand through.

Excellent questions.
Could there have been other people in the hosting homes who weren't normally there on the Sunday viewing get-togethers? - friends of grown kids/grandkids, or friends of spouses? Roommates? People working on stuff around the house - yard, pool?
I've been focusing so much on who could have been to Nancy's house, when it could be someone who saw and met her at a friends or neighbors home instead.
IMO.
I wonder if NG reported to one of her children that she noticed somebody in her backyard or front yard or front porch on Jan 11th that should not have been there or that somebody came to her door on Jan 11th that concerned her. LE seems to think that a suspicious person was on NG's property or spending too much time in front of her property on Jan 11th.

Possible a neighbor reported concerns about an unknown person hanging around their homes and property on Jan 11th. MOAO

Thank you everyone for the garage door responses. To be clear, I was not questioning the two minute timeframe—though it does take my MIL more than two minutes to exit a car and get into the house from the garage—but rather the assumption that the door was even completely closed to begin with. It just seemed odd that he used the word “approximately” and if it could imply that they are not sure (as recorded by an app) when it was opened, that’s all.

They’re testing another glove? Where was the first glove found? I thought they said one wasn’t discovered inside the house? How do they know any of these belonged to the perp then? This is just getting more ridiculous.

BTW, this was all done in the pitch black of night? Do they know if Nancy’s floodlights had been out prior to her abduction? Did she have a light next to her door? If there was no light, this person had to know her house inside and out.

On my current opener, yes it will detect it, whether by "manually" you mean by pressing the button on the wall, or if you mean pulling the rope release and lifting it. However, in my prior one, it would not detect the door being opened by pulling the rope release and lifting it. I've never had one that wouldn't detect a "manual" open with the wall button.
Yes, I meant by pulling the release and lifting it. And thank you for this. I didn't even know that there were app's for a garage door

He probably, in his own mind didn’t think LE would check the side of the road 2 miles from the crime scene.

I was just watching a show the other day where a Bank of America exec and his secretary conspired to have the exec’s wife killed. They printed everything for their hit packet from their office at work! Then when le was on to them they got rid of their office printers and computers without thinking le could just get the info from the company server.

Smart people do stupid things when committing a crime and dumb people as well.

I’m thinking this perp here is the latter.
That's quite likely he never thought that LE would check the side of the road 2 miles away. And, quite a few smart people do stupid things where they leave a trail of evidence behind. MOO

Or perhaps Google’s backend cloud storage ended up having motion alerts and snippets of footage going back further than just the weekend NG went missing, showing someone casing the joint on the 11th.

Well somehow I missed this today. BBM

Investigators say they are leaning away from looking into the man whose home was searched overnight as a suspect, two sources familiar with the matter say.

They're also leaning away from a man named Carlos, who was stopped in a car earlier this week, as a suspect, the sources said.

Investigators are also leaning away from any relatives of Guthrie as suspects, the sources said.

Reminds me of the Alex Murdaugh case where he tossed his wife's phone out the window, not realizing his car's GPS and phone data could track and time him

Cautiously optimistic. Hopefully this leads to the perp, or they can see if it connects to one of the individuals from Friday.
How do they know these gloves belonged to the perp? Reporters, including BE, had a box of the gloves that he opened to show viewers. It could be a reporter’s glove. It was found days later. Is another wrongful arrest imminent over these things? Will they end up arresting a reporter?
