Potentially unpopular hypothesis, but it is possible that no unknown DNA was found in the home and that law enforcement seeded that information to media outlets in order to stoke paranoia and an irrational response. Because paranoia certainly breeds irrational responses, and I imagine gets more criminals caught than DNA does.

It seems far more likely to me that if law enforcement found unknown DNA in or around the home that that isn't something they would want to disclose to anyone publicly. We know from reporting that they have digital sweepers on land and in the air, and are fiendishly monitoring cell and internet communications (think NSA) for a digital fingerprint, so I imagine they'd love a login or cell call to track right about now.

JMO.
One more thought you;ve shared that has occurred to me, too. They’re trying to get him to move or otherwise react.

Still, if other theories can be discussed it seems like political retribution theories should be included, based on perceived possibilities. It may not be political, but an awful lot of people are coming to that conclusion. I wonder if we'll ever know. I hope so. Sending so much love to Savannah & her family.
Agree that regardless of where we are all in the political spectrum, we could see that somehow this may be politically motivated. JMO

SG is appealing to his goodness and to knowing that he wants to do the next right thing. Wondering if she knows of something right he has done or if it's a strategic part of her plea to him. IMO her plea to the kidnapper was brilliantly done. JMO
What stuck out to me is when she said "you are not lost or alone." That made me think that profilers think that he feels that way.

That might be addressed to a crazed stalker OR to someone who had made a huge mistake as part of a burglary.

You do know one of the key parts of the investigation they are currently doing is picking up gloves on the side of the road near NG's house and testing them for DNA. in hopes they can link them to the only suspect seen on camera (wearing such gloves) and turn that into find her? So all these other gloves are slowing down this process.
If you consider almost 2 miles away NEAR.
I don’t but they are obviously looking for clues in a wider search area than just her street

I'm out of date with this case, but the "burglary gone wrong" theory just seems wrong unless they did no research and/or got the wrong house? A woman in her 80s would definitely be at home during the time the person came to the door. In fact, if they expected her to be out, why bother _going_ to the door?
I'm not seeing the benefit of removing the front door camera either, they could have just left from the rear of the house. Seems they didn't want it to record NG being removed out the front door. JMOO

Yes! Me! That video feels like she is very disappointed in someone in particular but saying she is willing to forgive them. MOO
Savannah states in the IG video “you’re not lost and you’re not alone”- this is a very specific statement. Why would she say that specifically without any other knowledge/information about the captor? Also the caption says “do the next right thing”- this is a common phrase used in 12-step groups. I’m just musing- what is the significance of these words and phrases? Where do they potentially lead us if there is a profile of the suspect and she’s using this language? Thoughts?

I agree 100% I believe that their strong faith is getting them through this. With that faith is the belief that we serve a forgiving and loving God. I feel like SG is likely struggling to love others the way Jesus does and being angry for what has happened.
Just my opinion and I will continue to hold on to hope alongside SG

Just wanted to make few points:

Wi-Fi and Alarm System at Mrs Guthrie’s House

Even though she doesn’t have a Nest Subscription account, there should have been multiple notifications on her phone through Wi-Fi when there was so much activity on multiple cameras around her house. Also, given her medical condition there are probably more people on that Nest account and they should all have received notification too through Wi-Fi Internet even though they were not there.Any one could have called for help after seeing that boogieman around the house.
It’s also hard to believe her Security Alarm didn’t go off when someone tried to break-in in the middle of the night and automatically dialed the alarm company. I am sure she has an alarm system for such a big house.
The only explanation is that someone with Means disabled both Wi-Fi and Alarm before this creep showed up hence no notifications and 911 call.

Doorbell Footage
Any server that logs data always has a timestamp attached. The fact that FBI has not released timestamp in the video is very telling.
I think this video is probably just before he was planning to bring Mrs Guthrie out of the house. He knew the camera is disabled because nobody showed up at the house but came to double check from the garage or side of the house with his face completely covered and no gun. But due to the battery in the doorbell and motion sensor the light went off which confused him. He didn’t want the light to go on when he would bring her out.So he decided to come back and cover the camera. He had to wear the mask correctly this time so he can see and has the gun too just in case. He taps the camera to see if it’s working and also checks the door knob with his left hand to make sure it’s open. He is so calm because he thinks the camera is not working, it's just the light and tries to find something to cover the light because the light will go off again when he brings her out. When he came out for the last time, he paused around the doorbell to take it out and probably that’s why there is more blood of Mrs Guthrie around that spot 😞 Timestamp on the footage will clear this up.

Kidnapper - Electronic Devices and Car

I don’t think there was any kind of traceable electronic device on him. Also, his car doesn’t have GPS or any kind of traceable device either. Otherwise LE would have found some solid electronic/digital lead by now. Due to lack of it they have to try to figure it out through DNA or Pacemaker ping. Everything was setup for him to walk-in and commit this heinous crime and leave without any trace. He was told to leave all her traceable devices behind too. Hopefully he made a mistake inside the house.

Motive

I think probably both financial and some kind of resentment.

Opportunity

Feb 6-8 was a very rare weekend for NBC when it hosted both SuperBowl and Olympics which probably will never happen again. Since Mike Tirico was occupied with SB and would have hosted the opening ceremony if there was no clash, this was a rare opportunity for Savannah Guthrie to host the ceremony. I think the kidnappers knew this and saw it as a perfect opportunity hoping she would pay up immediately and go to Milan.

Something went wrong during the kidnapping and they were not able to provide proof of life which forced Savannah to wait and it spiraled from there 🥲

I was responding directly to someone saying they don't see how searchers dropping gloves on the ground effects this case at all.

And "almost certainly"? Certainty is a binary absolute.. You can't be almost pregnant and you can't be almost certain. But the person I was responding to was going off that report.

'Almost certainly' is an asymptotic framing for emphasis, but I appreciate your literal take.

I was agreeing with your prior post, for what it's worth, but you almost certainly have surmised that already. :)

IMO it's a possibility that these outdoor cameras were set up so NG could enjoy the wildlife and enjoy her backyard even if it may have been harder to get outside on the patio.

I'm puzzled, though, as to how the perpetrators missed these cameras, how LE missed these cameras and why LE didn't get input from the adult children about where she had cameras both inside and outside.

Wonder if there were any images on these outdoor cameras.

JMO
I don’t think the perps would have gotten a ladder out to remove that outside camera.
If there were no lights on they may not have even seen it.
LE certainly didn’t see it right away…not until couple of days later
I believe

Yes! IMO, there has been "something" that has led LE to induce SG to make this video. Some clandestine contact? Some maybe old cryptic post on Instagram., recently found? Some new communication saying he has NG and is willing to barter...something... I also thought SG looked more distraught. Weakened, almost like she was suffering from the guilt of the weight of all of this because, no matter what, she, herself, might blame her fame as a direct cause of the kidnaping of her mom. JMO

You can break and enter without intent to commit felony. Just simple breaking and entering.
For example, a homeless guy could break and enter to sleep in your garage. But, not steal.

True. Though I find this confusing because logistically, it seems likely that there was more than one person.

But maybe the FBI or other LE have determined there was only one, or maybe SG is addressing the ringleader.

I agree. In times of uncertainty and knowing I had royally messed up in life, I had to focus on the next right decision. I've also taught my kids to think that way when life feels overwhelming. I genuinely believe SG is praying for the hearts of anyone responsible for her mom's kidnapping.
