The Silence of the Lambs quotes were in the first SG video, responding to the initial ransom note, right?

To me, this signals SG/LE connects the ransom note writer to this “I know who did it” writer.

Maybe proof of life was never sent bc this person isn’t directly involved but has had knowledge of the crime since the beginning. So ransom was never a motive for the perp, but $$ is the motivation for this person with knowledge. Or maybe they played a much lesser role and think they can’t be prosecuted.

Had there been an accomplice waiting inside to open the door and security door I feel the approach would be different. Why take the gun out and display it in an awkward way that prohibits movement at that point (remember he was lingering off frame outside of the vestibule without the backpack on and the gun still concealed before going to the front door). Was the door discovered open? Why even close it in that case (it may have even remained lock as far as we know).

I agree the front door would be the most direct exit point and likely the way to remove a person from the house, and that an accomplice could have already been inside to exit through the front door. But the actions/mannerisms of the Nest cam masked man just don't seem consistent w/ this to me.. YMMV.

I would also be curios if that front door remained locked. I use a keyed double cylinder deadbolt on steel security doors like that. I wonder what the investigation determined there and how it was left. The latest drone video showed the rear patio with no signs of forced entry, and investigators have yet to confirm if there was any forced entry involved.

If the suspect or suspects had already been inside and "secured" Nancy, would there be a point to continue to have a heavy firearm swinging around one's genitals while messing about with the Nest cam? It just looks so performative.

If he/they had already entered through the rear, why mess with the front door at all? Even if leaving through the back was, say, 20 feet further to a vehicle that coming out the front, I don't see how it'd be worth dealing with the obvious camera, unless a camera-less path was needed to eliminate the possibility of Nancy being captured.

I'd like to know if the back gate is easily opened from the inside. If it was securely padlocked, that might explain why someone could climb over it to get inside but couldn't leave that way with an 84 year old woman.

I guess it's possible that he didn't physically remove that nest door camera until he moved Nancy. This may be why some of the lantana pieces are on top of Nancy's blood on the porch.

The picture of him without a backpack standing by the sidewalk is concerning because the FBI cropped that picture for reason. You can't see the doormat area where Nancy's blood was later found even though we know that area was viewable in the nest door cam footage.

There was blood spatter in Nancy's blood to the right of the doormat that appears to be from a cough or sneeze meaning she was low enough to the ground for that to deposit. There was also passive drops that show she was probably standing at some point with the passive drops fallling and then leading away from the porch.

Previously felt it was someone that came to her for home for "odd jobs" (someone not licensed, but who needed cash) or a neighbor kid. Things started to go sour because the perp became more demanding and NG had wised up and didn't want to be conned. Or a similar scenario...So, in some respects it was a "crime of passion" at which anger is the motive. At least that is what I thought.... Until I saw him all masked up in a disguise, it appears more cold and calculating.

We will see....But yes removing the victim could point to a relationship.

I don’t know why the media is so surprised the family is continuing to maintain the grounds. I would do the same thing, remaining hopeful, that my mom does return home, and her home will be just the way she left it.

I agree normal life does need to continue, however if my mom was returned after something like this, she would absolutely never be living in that home again.

Guessing they have a good idea who the perpetrators are and that they have them under surveillance.

Seems that all of this info could cause a flight risk, which LE is clearly aware of or they wouldn't let the info be out there.

IMO it seems LE is releasing strategic information to the public that is really aimed at communicating with the perpetrator(s). LE may be hoping that the perp or perps get frightened and do something stupid that will give LE additional proof and evidence of their guilt.

Also, IMO, if they try to run, LE will likely follow them discretely with a helicopter and cars on ground that keep their distance and the helicopter pilot will keep them informed of where the perp is going. LE may be encouraging the perps to run in order to see where they go and what they do.

I think you may have misread my post. I said nothing about the "searchers" gloves.
I referred to the single glove found which is similar to the perp gloves, and which was sent for testing.

IMHO, any disposable glove which has been worn by someone is likely to have DNA on it--even if worn by someone experienced in aseptic technique.
Therefore a commonly available glove that is "similar" to the one worn by the video-perp, which was found almost 2 miles from the crime scene, is likely to have DNA on it and unlikely to have anything to do with the crime--IMHO.
That's NOT to say that it shouldn't have been collected and tested; it just feels like people and the media are hanging their hopes on "this is going to break the case" when in reality it has a miniscule chance of being significant to this investigation, IMHO.
I truly want the test results to be significant and case-breaking.

The FBI says investigators collected “approximately 16 gloves in various areas” near the Guthrie house, but most of them were searchers’ gloves discarded in various areas when they searched the area.

According to the FBI, the one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video.

Editing to add:

There has been a discussion of sliding glass doors leading to her covered patio area. It looks to me like a large picture-type window with three sections and the egress is through the blue door with small panes on the right (facing).

This is merely my opinion. But I am sticking with a female that Nancy knew who had key to her home, and is connected to the person in video. I believe someone had a key and entered. I give my housekeeper and my pet sitters keys or leave them somewhere for them.

Any home depot, hardware store sells them. Amazon next day prime. Very common. Even if they are the thicker chem resistant butyl gloves (impossible to tell from IR night footage).. I get all of mine in bulk on Amazon, but home depot or lowe's always has them as well as Ace or Truvalue and probably a local hardware store or med/chem supply.

They are either bulky because they are the thicker butyl chem resistant style or some experts have speculated they are the thinner nitrile or latex gloves (that are super common) and are over another pair of gloves underneath, thus appearing bulkier.
