I'm not sure if there's been any discussion of the suspect's shoes. I went through the footage and grabbed a few screenshots. A couple of things stood out to me:

1. No visible laces
2. Flat heel/ molded platform sole
3. Traditional-style moc toe construction
4. Contrasting outsole, likely rubber
5. Toe spring (or bumper)
6. Non-leather material. Probably canvas or mesh.

I don't know how helpful it is, but the closest match I could find was the Carhartt Men's Haslett Moc Toe Boot in black canvas..

Does anyone know why they would choose to send the glove to a private lab instead of directly through the FBI? Is that standard in some cases? I’m just trying to understand the reasoning.

It was said private lab was quicker than fbi,it might not have been prioritized because of possible backlog but they will over see it

It's weird how, after attempting to bang the camera (it looks like), he turns around and appears to scan the bed on one side inside the entry area (which was all stones) before stepping down outside the entry area to grab the Lantana planted on one side (outside that little portico area). I wonder if he was communicating with someone who told him to go further out. Wish we knew whether they have audio.

Great attention to detail. I’m interested in the 3rd picture. I can’t make it out but It looks like a possible emblem/makers mark to me or is it possibly a scuff.

This gives me the creeps every time I watch it. Here’s what perplexes me— he knows there is a cam, which is why his head is down as he very slowly walks forward. Then he goes to use his gloved hand to block the camera while trying to remove it. That doesn’t work well, so he thinks a plant stems will help? I’m sure he didn’t want to get his face too close the camera while trying to exert the strength to break it. One would think there would be a lot of better ways to do this.

Just thinking about it, I wonder why he needed to go to the front door anyways. If he entered through the back door to get inside then he didn’t have to break this camera from the front. Before taking her out the front door, he could’ve placed something over that cam to break it without ever being seen.

Well. Not certain but in my opinion it is likely that if found by the perps it definitely would have been something that they would grab.

I agree! I imagine SG is pondering if her Mom's global visibility from being a guest on her show may have something to do with this. Speaking of which, I wonder who's idea if was to showcase NG on SG's morning shows. Would the employer have come up with the idea? Of course, to the employer, it's all about ratings. IMO television personalities exhibiting older folks to the general public is as risky as letting them get to know your children on camera.

The official said that no canvass was done today. If a specific lead requires additional canvassing, it could be possible, the official noted.

The federal official noted that this is part of the regular investigative process. The official further cautioned that too much public exposure or reporting on specific steps being taken by law enforcement "whether accurate or inaccurate, gives the perpetrator a window into the investigation. Sheriff Nanos if you are reading this I am so sorry for poking fun at you early on. I had no idea what you were dealing with privately on top of all you were having to deal with publicly. I believe you want justice for Nancy and I hope you are close to getting it.

With a loved one on hospice, he must have long ago mourned the loss of his brother. It's called anticipatory grief. I, too, would have gone to that basketball game to get back to some semblance of normalcy! There is something really comforting to be able to get back to living when your loved one finally passes away. There will always be those conflicting feelings of sadness and relief, thought.

i would pay the 50K to the "ransom" writer. they are spending likely millions on this case already, if it's a dead end that's fine. they will eventually identify the writer and prosecute him. it's worth it.
