My thought on this is they found it somewhere either inside or out that they could tell was connected to the crime, maybe where there was obvious evidence of a struggle. JMO of course.
Yes, that’s my Impression, too! Struggle on bed.
Very unfortunate but not surprising. CeCe Moore on NBC Nightly News last night was pessimistic that the glove found was going to be helpful (too far from the crime scene, no female DNA, etc
That’s ok, not unexpected. Now continue with IGG to determine whose DNA was found inside.

Nanos said he believes it was a kidnapping. On Fox . Dna found 2 miles away had no hit on codis. No codis hit on home dna either. It was NOT burglary gone wrong. Targeted kidnaping . He believes the person knew who they were going after. MY STALKER THEORY LIVES!
They have not said the DNA found in the home is not in codis but we can guess? it's not because there's been no arrest. The glove is likely unrelated. JMO
It was just on FOX. Snippet of interview with Nanos and that guy with the British accent. NO DNA has been found in Codis..House or glove from a mile away. My guess is there will be full interview later but i cant find this on Fox. Watch Fox..lol

To those here who are still thinking that the perp on the porch was wearing a realistic mask underneath the ski mask, studies have been done on this and under near infrared light or NIR (what nest doorbell cameras use at night) it's quite visually apparent someone is wearing a mask. You can look at one study here. Bhattacharjee_BTAS2018_2018.pdf https://share.google/nfzuLVoLnnjKDPMTo

Notice the mask looks quite different under IR light vs human skin. There is no soft glow and areas where skin meets mask like around eye openings are quite visible. Based on this information, I'm certain that the perp was not wearing a mask beneath his ski mask.

Pima County Sheriff Nanos tells me his understanding is that the DNA from that glove found near Nancy Guthrie’s home was submitted to the FBI CODIS database this morning.

The company BlueFly has issued us this statement on their “signal sniffer” work in the Guthrie case regarding her pacemaker: “At the beginning of February, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department requested our support, and we immediately began deployment of BlueFly® units and personnel to Arizona to assist with the search for Nancy Guthrie. BlueFly® is a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sensor intended for search and rescue operations in challenging environments. The technology has been used on a variety of air and ground vehicles, and on foot in austere terrain. It provides first responders with a heat map to identity signals within a search area. BlueFly® was used on Feb. 3 during the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue helicopter search over the Guthrie neighborhood. The technology was subsequently used for additional search operations by helicopter, ground vehicles, and on foot. Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, we will not provide additional details on ongoing operations.

I wish there were ways to invest in bluefly. I’m loving this technology that they have.

To anyone with legal expertise:

Would (or could) the federal warrants issued to authorize the SWAT action also include a warrant for a buccal swab from the four detainees? Or would that likely require more definitive evidence of involvement? Might any of their DNA already be in CODIS for prior convictions in AZ?

Seems like it would be an insane waste of time and resources to bother with genealogical testing on a similar looking glove, found 2 miles from the crime scene with no other indication that the glove is in fact from the crime.
Seems like a long shot for sure. Maybe it's all they have right now.

Thank you! I know this is probably a stupid question but how does he know this information? I know who he is and that he's in Tucson, just trying to understand how he's getting the info.

EDIT: typo
Brian Entin has a reputation for journalistic integrity and for cultivating trusted relationships with credible sources. That trust is evident~he was the only journalist provided with the address of the SWAT raid Friday night.

I would like to also ask how often the stalker kidnaps or even harms a family member to get attention. Are there any examples that we can go off of? Don't the obsessed usually go directly for the person they are obsessed with? And, you are correct, there usually is a ton of attempts to get they're attention before they do something like this. I would assume that the FBI and criminal profilers have thought of this already, I certainly hope so anyways.
Too often if it is your family member. Statistics are just that. Numbers. How often are planes flown into buildings on purpose for terrorism ala 911? It still happened. JMO

I agree. Better to focus on DNA found at the residence. Even if it’s found not to identify the perp, at least it places that person at the crime scene as opposed to on a road 2 miles away. JMO

The sheriff's department also noted that the DNA process takes time and that additional DNA evidence found at the residence is being analyzed.

At the moment he can no longer contain himself. He reached that moment during the early morning hours of January 31. After pining and planning and purchasing gear, he carried out his mission to kidnap and possess NG to finally get SG's attention. moo jmo
Is Manhunter one of your favorite movies?

So the random glove found on the side of the road miles from the crime scene is now yet just a random glove.

I wonder if they are still asking neighbors about a truck or have pivoted. Still very curious about forced entry--which has not been confirmed yet--and the interior crime scene details.

They have DNA from inside the house. Perhaps they are tracing that too?

I wonder the protocol to utilize genealogical dna from ancestry, 23andMe, etc?!
The protocol would be a search warrant to access the databases. It would be a long court case. I do not know about 23andme or heritage, however ancestry.com has successfully quashed MANY search warrants for LE purposes.

I wonder if the the DNA on the gloves match the DNA found in the house?

ETA - Just read above post that it does not.

It is not a dead end just yet. There would only be a hit in CODIS if the person had committed a prior crime that caused DNA to be taken and submitted to the system. Now, if they choose to, the FBI can try to trace the person using genetic geneaology. Which is another waiting game that may or may not lead to a suspect. But it’s still possible. IMO

If it does not match the DNA from inside the house, I’m not sure if they’ll still try to trace it. 🤨
