Sounds more like desperation than following actual leads to me. The only indication the perp could be Hispanic is the fact that the area has a lot of Hispanics and because that sketch artist (questionably) put out a sketch with very Hispanic leaning looks. I personally don't think you can tell that much detail about the perps face or ethnicity from the video. If you take that sketch and have an AI like Gemini's nano banana give it lighter skin and a bit lighter hair while keeping the beard and mustache and keeping the same facial structure you end up with a very white looking caucasian guy with the exact same facial features. Which likely means one of two things - either preliminary DNA correlated with those origins, or the sample also contained Mediterranean and Middle Eastern men, who often share similar identifying features.

Yes, all of that makes sense. I have also wondered if they have paid someone and gotten nothing back. But I was thinking that maybe she should have just done that from day one and only paid the million after they got her back. If I had the money, that’s what I would want to do. But I am sure she was listening to whatever LE and the FBI told her to do. This is such a nightmare-praying it ends soon.

No doubt if she could've she probably tried. Or wanted to very, very badly but was told it might impede the investigation. She's a natural go getter and problem solver or she wouldn't have gotten as far as she's gotten in life. She's probably also heeded plenty of sage counsel along the way, which may be what we are seeing here.

Good news is she got those genes from somewhere, right? So if NG has a chance, she's probably fighting just as hard to will herself out of this.

I get what you’re saying but we don’t know if those names are on there based on the video alone. IMHO there may be other reasons, just like what @Mistermagoo says above with this article, Glove in Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Case Re-Tested in Arizona, No DNA Hit
And there's more information. As NewsNationfirst reported, law enforcement has given some gun shops in the Tucson area around 40 names to determine if any of those people bought a gun like the one the presumed kidnapper was photographed holstering as he approached Nancy's door. As for how those 40 names were selected, we're told authorities have identified the type of holster the man was wearing, and they have found around 40 people in the area who purchased the item.

I was coming to post something similar. APS is definitely for abuse, neglect, etc. I was wondering if the neighbor saw unfamiliar vehicles and activity (unmarked PO) but why call APS instead of LE? Once APS arrived, wouldn't she have seen LEOs or been let inside by family? Why did she need to place the card on the door? When did she arrive? One would think she would've noticed the blood. I can't make the timing of her visit make sense or understand the need for APS instead of LE. But, I'm not convinced this will help find NG.

Eyewitness memory is famously bad. No disrespect to that guy but I highly doubt he’d be able to remember POI “within the year” even if he did in fact come in. I probably wouldn’t either unless the person had a very distinctive feature. It’s better than nothing and I’m certainly not knocking them for trying since that’s what you do in investigations, it’s just too bad that it’s very difficult to mine people’s memory especially when they didn’t know at the time that they should remember something.

I've done this before, called to have someone check on an elderly relative. In my case, my relative lives out of my state. I called the local police department, explained why I was worried and they sent someone over. It's their decision to send an officer who might call APS if something is amiss, or they could have just sent an APS worker over to begin with. I wasn't told who went, but in the end my relative got a hold of me. Perhaps the friend/neighbor called the police to check on NG when she didn't show up to watch the church service, and they opted to send APS instead of an officer.

Just a thought. IMO.
