Maybe not crazy but unkind to invoke illegal aliens with no basis. IMO

I mean no harm. Nanos said this was a targeted kidnapping. The man's DNA is not in Codis. The FBI are looking for men who the gun shop owner said had unusual names.

And it is not a theory just pulled out of thin air.

“Over the past four years, thousands of Iranian national have been documented entering the United States illegally and countless more were likely in the known and unknown got-a-ways,” Scott wrote.

“Though we have not received any specific credible threats to share with you all currently, the threat of sleeper cells or sympathizers acting on their own, or at the behest of Iran has never been higher,” he added.

Scott asked border agents “to remain hyper vigilant and continue to take appropriate precautions, while maintaining a heightened level of situational awareness both on and off-duty.”

Nancy lives very close to the border.

You won’t find a source because it’s nothing but total speculation. For being super concerned about confusing and misleading an audience, you’re doing a great job at laundering completely made-up theories into “facts” people are believing to be true.

I am not laundering completely made-up theories into ‘facts’! I’d very curious about the original source of that pic because the obvious question is if it’s an unaltered frame that google recovered, where did the backpack and gun holster come from? Surely at least one reporter inquired about it given it’s a topic of considerable discussion.

Brian Entin just posted his daily video (30 mins long)

ON THE SCENE: Sheriff waiting on Google for more footage in Nancy Guthrie case, plus DNA setback

Edited: The answer to the question regarding the DNA in the house NOT being identified in CODIS are in this video with Brian Entin.

Running an AI facial recognition program through the Arizona DMV should yield some suspects. Surmise that it’s a male, you got the distance between the eyes, start out in the Tucson area, you got the approximate height…tech will get this solved MOO.
Some things that are noticeable about the face of the suspect from a video still image:
- The distance between the eyes (intercanthal distance - ICD) appears slightly wider than normal. This distance between the inner 'corners' of the eye in an adult is normally 28-35mm. If wider, its called telecanthus or hypertelorism depending on the etiology. A well known example of this is Jackie Kennedy who had hypertelorism (photo attached).
- Their eyebrows don't end where we would expect them to, which is normally in line with the inner corner of the eyes (unless the eyebrow extends across to the other side, i.e. a unibrow). So either they have a unibrow or they are wearing another mask or beanie/swimming cap/skull cap under the outer balacava (looks like this one maybe from walmart A knitted mask 3 Hole Ski Mask Winter Warmer Full Face Balaclava Outdoor Sports Thermal Cap for Men Women - Walmart.com).
- They appear to have what is called a positive canthal tilt meaning that the outer corner of the eye is angled upward relative to the inner corner of the eye (which is hard to see for sure), but definitely above the center of the pupil. Reference image below.
- Lastly, they do not appear to have excess upper eyelid skin as we would see with an individual in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. This is evident by the lighter appearing crease that is visible above the lash line on the right side of the image (left side of the person's face). This indicates that they are likely younger (20s, 30's, maybe 40's). Men generally start to exhibit extra upper eyelid skin in their 40's and 50's that gets worse with age and will obscure the lash line. But here we can see the entire lash line all the way across the eyelid and some eyelid skin above it.

This should not be an obscure observation by true crime community members. This is a real national security threat.

I know in Arizona it can be super dark at night because of the lighting codes. Do we know if NG had her porch light on? On January 31 there was nearly a full moon.

January 31, 2026- Tucson, Arizona

  • Moon Phase: Waxing Gibbous
  • Illumination: ~98.3%
  • Phase Description: The moon is bright and growing (waxing), approaching the Feb 1 Full Snow Moon.

Why would any smart criminal buy a legal gun in the same place they committed a capital crime?
Because he is not smart as evidence by the mismatched holster, the saliva transferring bite light, wearing a backpack w/ reflective strips and a brand name exclusive to one store, cumbersome nitrile gloves he couldn't get into his trigger guard, and other things.

But in AZ you can legally buy a gun and have no recorded of it. FTF cash purchases are perfectly legit and you need no paperwork or even need to know the guys name. Just both seller and buyer need to be AZ residents. I've bought many guns off forums this way in LGS parking lots and often times just knew the guys forum name (like CobraCommander). There is no purchase history, bill of sale, any background, copy of license or trace at all. Private sales (and these are not gun show sales) like this are legal in a lot of states. Or you can borrow a gun legally in AZ. But, sure it's likely if he was an adept criminal he'd have an illegal gun anyway.

That wasn’t a response to you.

In any case, there are at least three very reasonable theories at play here:
1) it was a different day and time
2) it was at a different time on the same day while casing the location
3) it was a second individual on the same day dressed in a similar manner

I’m encouraging you to share whatever knowledge you have of it being a dead end and waste of resources. If you know that to be true, you should submit a tip so they can focus on your particular knowledge of the case and participants.
Really? I’m planning to commit a crime in Houston, so I make sure to buy a GUN within a few miles of the crime? I mean, WTF are we even doing?

What if the actual theory of the crime doesn’t match your theory of the crime? What if, for instance, this was a spur of the moment decision for whatever reason and they grabbed whatever gun was available - one they may have purchased locally in the last year for unrelated reasons?

This is why I’m suggesting you file a tip since you seem to have some further insight into what actually happened to know that this is a total waste of time.

Excellent observation diagraming my previous thoughts on the brows extending far medial to the usual termination point. Instead of aligning with brow bone, the brows extend to what looks like the center point of the nose. Very unusual. If this isn't a mask/glasses or a disguise, I am hoping facial recognition software could help LE with identification. That is, of course, this isn't an international crime.

I'm definitely not trying to mislead anyone. I'm going by what I saw at the time the video and photos were released and accepted as a plausible and reliable explanation. If there were video showing the perp without a backpack that would prove my assertion wrong. To my knowledge there is no such video, just these images.
Originally, you presented as fact that the FBI had released an AI "enhanced" photo with the backpack removed, and you criticized them for doing so. Per Webslueths rules, the onus is on you to provide a source.

That's worrisome, yes. I worry the same about the Walmart gear. They may never be able to trace these gun or gear purchases locally.

has anyone posted this? probably — what a beautiful portrait.
but let’s diffuse this tension with focusing on NG!!! off to bed, hoping to wake up with good news ❤️

No further insight than to understand that the guns won’t be legally purchased or traceable. That’s step one.

Has anyone identified the shoes the masked man is wearing in the video at NG's front door? That might be another avenue of leads IMO.
Someone earlier today sleuthed the shoes. They concluded it was similar to a Carhartt moc. If you put that info in the search, I bet it will pop up

I'm curious, though, as to why they gave the height and build of only one individual.
So probably #s1& 2.

You have just implicated yourself in criminal weapons transactions
Haha. No it's perfectly legal for private sales. You seem not to understand that.

In AZ private FTF cash sales with no paperwork and no background check are legal for handguns. Both the seller and buyer need to be AZ residents and the seller must not have reason to believe the buyer is a prohibited person. That's the law, as is in many states regarding private sales.

Even when I worked NY, prior to the 2013 "Safe act" private sales of long guns, including AR-15s were legal. Cash and carry, no bill of sale, just first names. That's in a "ban state" and the was the law. Many guns sold in LGS parking lots that were LEO vendors with cops coming in to get their Glocks 19s serviced. Believe me, I'm very well acquainted in this matter.

I just signed up to support by being a Webslueths Gaurdian for $3.00 a month. Because I can't even imagine the mess they have to clean up here. The stuff I've read, the crap posted. We need to support this wonderful imformative platform. But man I would not want to be a moderator.
