And I don’t think they ever said it was AI-generated, or words to the effect that it has been doctored or manipulated in any way. I saw someone on here claim that they saw the word “altered” or something similar in the corner in the photo, but I think, if they did see that, it might have been erroneously added by someone else online when they shared it, rather than the FBI-released original.

Maybe in a tiny, little print of the T&C's of Ancestory and GedMatch there is a box to check to opt out. IDK, I've not done either, but how many people read every single word of terms and conditions? I would say the percentage is high that it is just skimmed and accepted. I am guilty of that myself.

On GedMatch the LE opt in/opt is front and center and very noticeable. There is a colorful POLICE tag on each kit you have uploaded to the site. So you are very aware of it and can opt in or out at any time.

When the GedMatch owner switched over to an LE data base years ago, it was a very big deal with lots of disclosure and information about it. And ability to opt in or out at any time.

The owner was very responsible and up front about it, even to this day.

From what some of the GG experts are saying Ancestry is not an LE data base. It does not share data at all with LE. It has the largest DNA data base with 25 million samples so it is of interest of course to LE. But I believe LE would have to get a warrant to access it.

Anyone else feel like you wish there was a way to tell Nancy’s family how sorry you are that this has happened? Seeing their broken hearts, worried expressions, and determination not to give up…just breaks me inside. The things that have been said about why didn't Nancy have a paid subscription when daughter is wealthy...can you imagine the stab that was to SG heart? Her other sister and husband has been run through the ringer. I go to bed at night and wake up praying for them. I'm thinking unless you have experienced their degree of worry you can't imagine their pain. SG has lost so much weight, I am sure they are all suffering in their own ways and wish they could be home to do it. That being impossible at this time because of reporters, etc. If the family is reading this, it is a terrible thing that has happened. Your mother would want you to work your way through the pain. It is important to talk about all the wonderful experiences you had together. To pass the time everyone write down memories you have had from the earliest times you can remember. Share them with each other. You need some positive thoughts to help you through this. I will never forget Nancy.

What stage of the encounter was the image of the full backpack taken? He appears to have his back to the doorbell camera, so is he on his way out? If so, where is Nancy? You would think he would be holding her, forcing her ahead of him.

Fair point but I think from the vid we see that his back was to the camera only because he turned around after approaching it the first time but I did initially wonder whether this could be a pic after he filled the backpack….but….weren’t we told in the beginning that nothing inside the home was taken besides NG?

Also, regarding where is NG when the doorbell camera captured this vid? I am convinced she is still inside because there is no blood on the walkway in the vid. I am still wondering whether he had already been inside and if so what her condition was while this vid recorded but I do think she was still inside the home.

Bite Lights are commonly used by pilots for flight deck operations. Does NG know any pilots?

I’ve never seen bite lights actually used in the cockpit. I know there is a model for sale, and someone is buying them, but it’s not popular. Makes talking to ATC a bit tough!

Headlamps are more popular with GA pilots.

I am perplexed about the amount of information all police agencies are putting out to the public. Why tell everyone about the black gloves? Why tell everyone about the pacemaker tracker on the helicopter? Why not put tents all over the property when doing searches so media people can’t see what’s being done? Yeah I think there’s been way too much made of those stills. The quality is not good, there’s distortion and blurring etc yet it’s been stated people absolutely see shoe color, jacket style different mask etc.

I’ve seen it posted that it’s definitely camo, I don’t know about you guys but i have never seen a coat that was camo and also had a distinctive black stripe across the chest. The chances of it being the exact same coat as in the backpack video is extremely likely.

The shoes in the blurry still non backpack photo, I’ve heard oh definitely different shoes. There’s black on the soles etc. What i see is extreme distortion and blurring and different angle of light source. I have very little certainty that those are different shoes.

Hopefully we get some new news in this case soon!

If the vehicle had GPS could the FBI / Law Enforcement not get tracking data from the various / number of satellites out there.

There are quite a few satellites doing all sorts of things i.e. mapping, monitoring etc.

Unfortunately, GPS is receive-only. GPS satellites broadcast time and position signals which receivers use to triangulate position. Nothing is sent to the satellites.

ETA: If they impounded a vehicle they suspected of being involved, location data is often saved within a (modern) vehicle’s computer system.

I agree, especially considering he would make it difficult to swallow. At some point, I would think it would have to be removed and he would then risk the spread of DNA.

That said, it did hide his mouth and lips from identification.

If he touched that bite light at any point and it had his saliva on it his DNA would be on those nitrile/rubber gloves and would transfer to whatever he touched after that.

A sliding glass door handle? A door handle? A window pane?

I think it's also possible that his saliva from his gloves could be on some strands of the lantana in the area that he reached down to pull out.

Not overly helpful other than confirmation the doorbell camera was indeed disconnected. But separate images of more than one suspect has never been referenced. However I do notice mention of “one of the home’s cameras”. It would make sense to me that LE has not released everything they have. JMO

The FBI publicly shared several excerpts of footage from Guthrie's Nest camera on Feb. 10, saying that the previously inaccessible video from the morning of Guthrie's disappearance was recovered from "residual data located in backend systems."

The FBI described the suspect in the video as a male who is about 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall with an average build.

In one video clip, the suspect approaches the front door and raises a gloved hand to the camera outside the door before turning back. In a separate clip, the masked suspect faces the camera holding a flashlight in their mouth before covering the camera lens with some vegetation.

Nanos previously told reporters at a news conference that the doorbell camera at Guthrie's home was disconnected at approximately 1:47 a.m. on Feb. 1.

At around 2:12 a.m., one of the home's cameras detected what the system classified as a person, but Nanos said video footage wasn't available.

Google, which makes Nest cameras, previously told CBS News it was assisting with the investigation.

Why would any smart criminal buy a legal gun in the same place they committed a capital crime?

If they had no intention of actually firing the gun, they might not have worried about buying one locally. This assumes he didn’t realize he’d be caught on camera with it - a supposition I’m not
confident about.

If he did buy the gun with only the intent to scare an elderly woman and not shoot her, this could explain the gloves, which would make firing the gun difficult if not impossible.

In turn, this would throw shade on the “jewel heist” theory, because I’d imagine he’d need to be more ready to use the gun in that case.
