DNA mismatches:

Washington state woman had two children with not the same DNA as her. Court case attempting to take her children. She was pregnant with third child, and jury members watched the birth. Same results. Not her DNA. Jury actually accused her of being a surrogate. Enter DNA specialist. Woman had two DNA present in her body. She kept her children.

DNA accused man of murder, but he was 100% in prison at time of murder. He had a twin. Identical twin's DNA did not match his either. Prosecutors had no idea. Dropped charge.

Alaska man needed a bone marrow transplant, but he had atypical DNA. Match found in Germany. Surgery to his arm. Four years later the man had completely become the donor's DNA - completely.

I suppose it doesn't matter how they narrow down the list of possible suspects but I am taken aback that they have 40 people on a list of possible suspects. Plus, it seems kind of dumb to buy the gun you intend to use in a crime from a gun store. MOOooo

The man from the gun store who was shown the pictures and names of people by the FBI agent said there was three pages with about 8 different people on each page. That would be approximately 24 people. I think 40 is a media exaggeration. Unless LE had already narrowed the suspects down from 40 before they talked to him.

To remove an incapacitated victim? jmo
But if there was someone who entered the house from any entrance other than the front door where the camera was, they could open the front door and reach out with their hand and either remove the camera or cover it with something so that it could be removed without being seen on camera at all.

Totally agree. What is the motive? Could it be a game to them? Like a catch me if you can situation? If so, why NG? Because it would garner a lot of media attention based on her daughter's occupation?
I agree. The silence of the lambs quote seems significant. I don't remember the movie but could it be a copy? Was the villain in Cali?

I agree it would be a dumb move unless you elaborately prepare to make sure you aren't captured or identified. I think the suspect was unprepared for that door nest camera to capture him. Especially if he already believed that he had disconnected it.

No, the thing next to the plant has moved. I tried to frame the thing in both pictures. It moved more to the background. I'll try again.
Edited to ad picture from Spectrix's post. AZ - Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026
Can't tell what the thing that moved is. From some drone arial photo just looks like she has some rocks and the purple lantana plant on that side nearest the walkway, but I can't find a good image taken from the right viewing the entryway to tell. There is a pot to the left of the door on the ground. Also, agree that it looks like something is being held in the right hand of the non-backpack wearer.

I didn't know there were any suspects!
I think they just mean whoever did the crime. Another way of saying the perpetrator(s)

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but the website mooncalc.com allows you to see where moon shadows would fall as well as how long the shadow would be. There's a suncalc sister site as well.

Interesting. So there has been a 5th letter now demanding close to $6mil in a cryptocurrency other than bitcoin (evolving to be more sophisticated and less traceable as they watch this unfold) and having some sort of media involvement (sounds like attention seeking). FBI Contacts Mexican Authorities in Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping, New Ransom Demand

So if NG was taken over the border in the days after the abduction, where did they stay during those days in the US? Some sort of temporary housing, motel, airbnb? Doubtful that they sat in a car in the desert for days on end. In Mexico, they could simply ask NG "what meds do you take? And then just go buy them without a prescription." This would favor not spending too much time in the US before the border crossing (if that did happen) to ensure that she got the medications she needs.
JMO but I would doubt an Air B&B. I've never known one not to have cameras at least at all the entrances.

Motel with external room entry would likely have parking lot or walkway cameras, also risky.

Good afternoon everyone, catching up with what's happened today. I see there is another email to TMZ but didn't HL just yesterday say they weren't going to talk publicly about any further communication from this person or persons? What am I missing?

I think this is key, too. He's making a scene to be seen. Lantana Man is not putting much effort into getting in to the house or to quickly take out the camera.

I think the moment he thought that door cam was recording him after he reached the front door he knew he had to remove it and that is immediately what he began to do. When he couldn't remove it right away he began looking for something suitable to help him remove it. When he turns away from the door he immediately looks down to the left and doesn't see anything there. Then he goes toward the walkway where he sees the lantana and picks it.

I’ve cropped the screenshots to approximate the same perspective as the unbackpacked man image. I tried to grab several of the same area for comparison. Hopefully obviously, I’ve not altered the images except bring up contrast and circling the area of interest.

Look at the differences.

I’ve added a postfacto screenshot from the other side that was on Fox News: Blood drops visible on the porch of Nancy Guthrie’s home | Fox News Video
Ah, maybe it's that little tan pot with the cactus that has been moved or knocked over.
