Two things don't really work for me. 1) the bit that comes up at the front (toe cap or toe bumper or whatever) seems to match the lowest material on the sole (dark in this case) whereas the model of shoe suggested as a match, the toe bumper matches the upper sole material and 2) The cost just doesn't make sense to me, you get most of your outfit from Walmart but are wearing $200 golf shoes?

As a disguise of identity, Walmart clothes on someone with money makes sense.

And if they are going to dispose of them afterwards.

If it is a mixture of two or more people’s DNA it is quite difficult to “clean it up” for analysis and especially for IGG which relies on much longer pure reads of sequence. We have gotten hints that it is a mixture, and hopefully there is a large enough sample that can result in a good read, but it isn’t guaranteed.

Valid points! The toe cap is one thing that doesn't quite seem to match, but it's just so hard to tell, especially with the IR lighting. And the price definitely doesn't jive with the other gear.

I've seen one or two very cheap options suggested that are good matches too, if in fact the IR light is distorting the colors. Either way, it's hard to believe that LE/FBI hasn't pinned the model down yet.

If part of his reason for the light was hoping that the brightness of a small, powerful bulb would obscure facial details from cameras, he might have thought that having it more centrally located in his mouth would do a better job of the circle of light covering his whole face than a light on his forehead would.

It must have been cumbersome to remember to bite teeth onto light to hold it, turn it on.
I agree with others here, because of using this type of mouth held light, there’s a very good chance he left some saliva, DNA.

IMHO, the investigation goes on 50% discretely and 50% botched because the FBI agents are doing the following:

• NOT giving untimely and contradictory news conferences
• NOT providing the kidnappers window into the FBI investigation
• NOT inserting FBI agents to be parts of the news
• NOT seeking attention as if they were running for an election.

If the FBI agents were undisciplined and NOT doing the above, the investigation would be 100% botched.

This was all staged, why on earth would someone want to go in the front door, I think that they deliberately let themselves be on camera to make us think it was some psycho, probably paid for his acting by the real culprit. They could have gone in the back, and why carry someone out of the front door when you can take them out of the garage door and put them straight into the car.

I like your thinking, if the criminal is thinking it all through, enter and leave through back door.

In this case, there was no blood on the porch before the crime, but there is blood after the crime, from the front door to the circular driveway. So likely she was brought out the front.

I’m still behind several pages, but jumping in with a comment about the APS card.

What has me puzzled about the card, is not so much about how the card got there, although, of course, I’d like to know all the details of how it came to be there.

My big questions are: Which neighbor called in to APS and why.

With all the foliage between homes in the area of NG’s home, meaning lack of sight lines from one house to the next, what could have prompted the neighbor to call APS?

Why this particular morning? Quite the coincidence.

And what was so urgent about the call made to APS that they sent an investigator out on a Sunday?

They accept reports by phone 7 days a week, just different hours on Sat and Sun. I was about to write something like "it could be as simple as" - but the page also says for "life threatening emergencies call 911." So if someone was literally worried about her current physical welfare, why not call 911?

Considering that it JUST came out that they haven't ruled out an accomplice to Lantana guy, and citizens have probably spent days thinking about a single suspicious guy, I wouldn't fall over in shock to learn that PCSO notified them before they got a real good look around inside. JMO

I think, as there are no street lights, the perpetrator didn't want to have a light that might have alerted neighbors, or anyone driving by. Hence, the small one. MOO Also, watching he video, if he had known there was a camera there, why did he pull the plants to try and cover the camera lens? Very odd, and makes me think he had not been there before, but at the same time I wonder if someone else sent him there, and perhaps was at the back entrance? There are multiple cameras at the house, but I have no idea exactly where, other than the video of LE going onto the roof to take a camera stationed there.

The police provide different services than do APS. The neighbor, likely a friend probably felt it was necessary and NG needed outside intervention. APS wasn't called to search for NG.

That's quite possible. Personally, I would have spoken to AG first, but different people make different decisions. Or maybe they has already talked to her and, when this happened, they decided to call APS. We may never know.

I originally thought the suspect was putting on a show for the camera, but now I'm leaning more toward he thought the camera was disabled when it wasn't.

Not knowing what the inside of the home is like, we're missing a huge chunk of info.

I feel like the missing logical link for the public is the source of the unknown male DNA contributor. It's gotta be from a source that they're confident could likely only be from the suspect, right? I'd bet every home on the planet has plenty of unknown male DNA if you went around just swabbing and testing random spots.

The delivery of the ransom notes in the Nancy Guthrie case involved the use of an anonymous tip submission system by the Tucson television station KOLD News 13. This system requires users to enter a name, email address, and birthdate but does not verify the information. The notes were submitted through this system, which may have used cloaking software to hide the sender's identity. The station received the first ransom note at approximately 5 p.m. Monday and forwarded it to the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department. The second message arrived at 11:45 a.m. Friday and was also submitted through the same system. Both messages were submitted without the sender's name, first and last names, or other personal information, indicating a level of anonymity. The station did not report on the messages until authorities issued a joint statement with the FBI acknowledging they were aware of the ransom note reports.

Unfortunately, I do not think that she has any personal items, including meds. The sheriff came out on the first day and stated that everyday that passes is more critical because they has meds that she needs. Which is another reason that people think that if she is alive, perhaps she is in Mexico because meds are easier to get. To me, she doesn't have to be in Mexico. If there is a scenario at all that the perp(s) thought of getting her meds from Mexico, much easier to smuggle the meds in than smuggle her out.

I think it would be easy to drive across Nogales border into Mexico with NG, maybe under a blanket in backseat. Border patrol usually just waves you through.

But, why take NG to Mexico? It’s certainly possible, I just don’t think it’s necessary.
I doubt whoever has her, if still alive, does not careabout her meds.

Personally, I am sorry to say, I think NG is no longer with us, so does not need meds.
I believe this because, there was never a sign of life, image or video.

That new theory is concerning. If this person has family, or a job, how do they go missing for three weeks and not get a missing persons report filed on them? Not that they necessarily would have a family or a job. But if they don't have resources like a car, how do they pull off a kidnapping where they remove her from the scene? They didn't take her car and we know she didn't walk.

Also, I'm not sure anyone planning a kidnapping would have prepared 3 weeks worth of supplies. Kidnapping someone and thinking you may have them for weeks would be a plan that needs rethinking, imo. I think it's more reasonable to assume that either 1) she's in a place where she couldn't possibly walk to safety and the kidnapper comes and goes, 2) there is more than one perp, or 3) she is deceased.

On TV, this might turn out to be someone who wants her as a Mother. But, regardless of how this goes, I think someone connected to this situation has to be the ransom writer.
