Statistically, after all this time, I doubt if she was in the landfill she would be found. It’s incredibly difficult and daunting task searching landfills, especially without knowing which to search.
They’d find her. For the Bluetooth sniffer to work, they have to know the MAC address (or similar identifier) of her specific pacemaker. So if they get a hit from this helicopter flight, they know the pacemaker is there. On-the-ground searches would be relatively easy to triangulate after that. The pacemaker battery lasts for years.

No pressers or any updates for the public outside of sheriff doing media rounds and often changing the info given. I think the media tents will be packing up this weekend and heading out. All that is left now is speculation with the same stories swirling around. NG neighbors buying\ extra security cameras and getting frustrated with media blocking their road. If there are any significant events media will return. At this time we don't even know if there was a forced entry!!
It's sad to see it wrapping up, but it's the logical thing at this juncture.

Sadly, my amateur speculation is that she expired the night she disappeared. I think something went wrong and it wasn't the original intent. I think the Perp would have done a quick dump and drive, and I think that she is likely in the hills north of her property. It's remote there without prying eyes. I don't think she's buried - she was dumped in a ravine or off an embankment.
Sure hope I'm wrong. All this other noise is just opportunists trying to financially benefit from a horrendous crime.

1. We have never confirmed that he took the camera. Early on, I believe that it was stated that the camera was sent to the crime lab. Truth is, I don't know if we know this for sure.
2. He was most likely trying to cover up any video of a car that maybe pulling up, but also, maybe initially he was covering up how he was getting into the house, sure looked like he wanted to knock initially
"The department said a security camera is missing from the front of Guthrie's house."

I was wondering if the crew on the helicopter would be instantly alerted of a signal detection or like you suggested, they have to download and analyze the data afterwards?! I haven't seen it mentioned in the articles about it.

IMO
Here's what Parsons Corp. - the creators of the BlueFly tech - has to say about the product:

"BlueFly is drone mountable and capable of covering large search areas quickly, significantly outpacing on-foot search parties. By scanning from an aerial perspective, it can efficiently map out the presence of devices in real-time, providing a comprehensive overview of the search area. The data collected by the BlueFly technology is transmitted in real-time to Team Awareness Kit (TAK) capable Android devices, allowing teams on the ground to receive immediate updates and respond accordingly, enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness in the field and ultimately increase the likelihood of a successful rescue operation."

And their Feb 17 press release:

"At the beginning of February, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department requested our support, and we immediately began deployment of BlueFly® units and personnel to Arizona to assist with the search for Nancy Guthrie. BlueFly® is a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sensor intended for search and rescue operations in challenging environments. The technology has been used on a variety of air and ground vehicles, and on foot in austere terrain. It provides first responders with a heat map to identify signals within a search area.

BlueFly® was used on Feb. 3 during the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue helicopter search over the Guthrie neighborhood. The technology was subsequently used for additional search operations by helicopter, ground vehicles, and on foot. Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, we will not provide additional details on ongoing operations."

So, it looks like it sends data to ground crews in real time.

And here is (apparently) a screenshot of the interface.

I agree.

Or a car dropping her off after dinner even? Good grief
Nancy did not have a subscription to her cameras so none of the footage was stored. Video from non-subscription cameras is eventually written over and gone forever. What little video that has been found (guy at the front door) had not been written over and was recoverable. If more video has been located, it has not been made public.

Was the family ruled out by the FBI, or just the Sheriff?
What exact phrasing was used to clear them?
The sheriff. I think you could find the posts about it in here with a thread search, to see what the mods had to say as well as the sheriff.

I still don't know if something went odd during dinner or on the way home from dinner or whatever. Not accusing anyone but I am going to say it like the Sheriff "nobody has been ruled out" ahem.
except the sherriff did rule out family

I REALLY hope that this search was based on a credible tip. JMO

I have to say MOO, because I’m not going to search the thousands of previous posts, but someone linked to an article about the sniffer technology that indicated it could perform better than had been originally reported.
Here it is again:

Doesn't matter--sheriff's office said they were ruled out. TOS say that once they are ruled out, there can be no more discussion or mention of the family as potential suspects.

With that said, if that changes Tricia might open the discussion to talking about the family once again. But until then, we will not be allowed to discuss NG's family as potential suspects or persons of interest.

I remember it being discussed in this thread a while back but when I just searched for a link I could only find this video and you're right he doesn't mention where it was placed. So now I'm confused, because it was definitely mentioned before in this thread about where the note said it was.

I've edited my previous post in case that info was false.

I remember someone making a comment about where it was (/hung) . However I don’t recall an official mention. There may have been.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume they're not thinking she was dumped in the landfill; but rather in a dumpster or bin that wound up in the landfill.

I would imagine the desert would be a better dumping ground, unless the perp was in a hurry.

Horrible to contemplate.

Agree, sadly

Agree. I don't think the genetic testing on the glove will result in anything tied to the case. Seems the sheriff/FBI have about exhaused leads and have jumped on non-leads. I see the case as three parts: find NG, find the criminal, and find the Bitcoin scammer.

Please never do this . Removing a pacemaker (or at least a cardia loop recorder), requires a small incision and a tweezers. Must be done under medical care.

Is there anywhere around Tucson that actually has easily diggable soil/earth to hide a body? I've heard that the desert surface is particularly difficult to penetrate.

So that might be a strong reason not to use it, unless instead of burying she were sadly thrown down a ravine.
