Do you think the glove may have been hidden and was found through the couple searching (for example, poking with sticks)?
That would be excellent if they could find NG’s body somewhere nearby, like within a mile. I thought they had dogs, with a Grid search( map) at one point. Do another search 👀 with dogs in that area( gloves found).

I still think since it was night time, the perp likely went a bit out of town, maybe hilly desert area, with tall brush, cacti, so very unfriendly terrain for the casual searcher. JMO

I keep thinking of NG if she is alive & waiting to be rescued, Of her family members whose life is on hold waiting...Yes it seems like this is all so crazy for us but think what it seems to them.

Re: Find Criminals vs find NG. I understand the two sides of the case,
catching the criminal to keep society safe, vs finding a missing loved one.
After 3 weeks, I think LE is doing everything they can to conduct both parts of the case.

In this case, list below, what LE is likely persuing:

1. those who abducted NG, the real suspects that need to be identified, right away for public safety( NG’s abduction likely was targeted, so no real public threat), bad for LE that the person/ people are still out there, free in society. At this time, the criminals who abducted NG must be found above all. JMO

2. Looking for NG, at this point, I’m very sorry, very likely NG has passed. Still she needs to be brought home. I believe in the beginning, they were urgently looking for an alive NG, this search continues, but not sure of her condition RN. Finding her could help catch the criminal ( DNA, other clues). So, IMO, there is still a huge search for NG , even if she has passed.

3. The ransom people( opportunists, IMO), try to catch, separate crime, likely not involved, won’t help to find abductors or NG. JMO

I think in child or elder missing persons, they say the first 48 hours are the most important, so maybe first priority in the very beginning was to find NG. After a short time, especially for children, it’s unlikely to find them alive, but LE of course, continues to search. I would think an adult could live longer, but we are not sure if NG was kept safe, at all…😢

Just a few thoughts.

JMO
I agree with your thinking here. When the case first broke and evidence was first being assessed, the priority would have been to find NG. However, as the evidence built, it was determined a crime occurred, and the resources dedicated drastically increased in number, the focus would broaden. This is not an OR situation, but rather an AND situation.....find NG AND find the criminals (abductors and scammers). With a reported 400 LE's working this case, I would hope every possible avenue is being explored, all those suggested here plus many more based on the insight of the investigators to which we are not privy.

What has always worried me is the blood on the porch. If perp had gun, and intended to kidnap for ransom, WHY injure Nancy and complicate things? She was not strong, so should have been easily controlled by a stronger person. Then add the threat of a gun, I don't see Nancy fighting, so why was she injured? If they were really kidnapping her, they wouldn't want an old injured abductee that might need medical help, or supplies, and leave lot's of DNA/blood behind to connect cars and places to the crime?
The blood might have come from a skin tear due to binding her arms or wrists.

In photos of Nancy, you can see she has what looks like vascular issues with her forearms, and the bandage shown in one photo implies to me that the skin is easily torn or cut.

A rope or cuffs could easily damage her skin, causing the blood. If her hands were bound behind her back, she’d be unable to do anything but let the blood drip. No (or few) shoe prints could be explained by her feet being in front of the wound. Perhaps the suspect lead her rather than pushed her from behind since the blood wasn’t tracked by their shoes. IMO

SG makes something close to 8 million dollars per year according to reports, with an estimated net worth of 40 million dollars. Her husband owns a boutique consulting firm, which isn't counted in SG's estimated worth. Sans write offs and credits, 6 million dollars is probably closer to their yearly tax burden than it is an unobtainable amount of money.

Even so, a bank would surely have loaned it to them. Heck, someone probably would've given it to them.

JMO.
Maybe they did pay some or all of it! It went into a black hole in the dark web, no response after.

The family confirmed the ransom people were hoaxes. All so sad to think of, desperation! I would be so desperate too!

Now on to finding NG another way. It is hard to believe that LE have not found the car on a camera the original night. It would lead to so much info, especially where NG was left, after the abduction. Car would lead to big clues where to search. Plus DNA, owner, driver of car, plus more!

Need to identify the getaway car!

This person LD who was arrested in the RR, do they list his height anywhere? How would he have afforded this expensive vehicle? Does petty drug dealing pay that much?

ETA: I found the other man affiliated with the dealership (who has not been charged with anything) resembled the artist's sketch more than this guy though.

Sheriff dispels Adult Protective Services speculation in Nancy Guthrie case

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos addressed speculation involving Adult Protective Services in the case of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, clarifying that after a neighbor made a call, APS sent an investigator to her home the day she was reported missing.

“The day she was reported missing a neighbor called Adult Protective Services,” Nanos said. “They sent an investigator to check on her.”

Fox News Digital's Michael Ruiz contributed to this report.

Uh, how many people were detained on February 13?

Initial reporting from Fox News after the SWAT activity said 3 people were detained in connection to the execution of that search warrant and one person was detained in a traffic stop of a Range Rover in connection to that search warrant, but it wasn't clear if that was supposed to be 3 total or 4 total. I took it to mean 3, but a later update of that article refers to the Range Rover driver and "Three other people detained at a nearby home", implying 4 total people. A later update of that article says "Officials on Saturday confirmed to Fox News Digital the FBI was executing a federal search warrant at a house in the Catalina foothills, with four people detained and later released." (Fox News)

NewsNation said "three people were detained at two scenes" a man and woman at a house and a man in a vehicle (presumably the Range Rover) that was "reportedly" headed toward the house. I can't find a tweet from him supporting this, but people on the thread reported NewsNation's Brian Entin, who was live reporting from the house, witnessed the man and woman coming out. (NewsNation)

Now though, MikeRReports is saying "Two men have been detained in the case and released without charges." The first is CP, the delivery driver from Rio Rico who was detained while driving on February 10th (KATV). The second matches LD, who has come forward and identified as having been detained on February 13, and whose mother was detained (ABC News). It is not made explicit, but since it was LD's home and LD's mom at the home, it seems implied that he was one of the people detained at the home.

In any case, MikeRReports says two men total, but we know of one man on Feb. 11 (CP), and two men on Feb. 13 (one at the house and one at the Range Rover)--that's three men, not to mention Fox's reporting that three people were detained at the home on Feb 13 (though if that person wasn't a man, they wouldn't be included in MikeRReports's tweet on detained men....) And in this thread I've seen lots of people refer to LD as the Range Rover driver, but I have no idea where that's coming from either. Since LD's statement refers to LD and his mother being detained, and we know a man and woman were detained at the house, it seems most likely that LD was detained as the house and the RR driver has yet to be identified

As they say, the math ain't mathing....

Good point. Maybe done on the down low. We don't need to know LE's every move.
In the press release put out by Parsons, the makers of the BlueFly tech, they said:

“BlueFly® was used on Feb. 3 during the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue helicopter search over the Guthrie neighborhood. The technology was subsequently used for additional search operations by helicopter, ground vehicles, and on foot. Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, we will not provide additional details on ongoing operations.”

This makes it sound like they’re using the devices in vehicles and on foot, and probably drones too. So, we probably won’t see as much evidence of it being used by manned choppers going forward. That’s my guess, anyway. Too easily tracked with ADS-B.

The search for Nancy Guthrie has reached week three and support is growing beyond the US for her return. A group called ‘Madres Buscadoras,’ or searching mothers, are joining the search in a country where over 100,000 people are also missing.

Sad, but true. The NG case has faded from TV news coverage and will probably cease altogether until there is a major development.
NBC reports the latest every night.

I just hopped over there to see if I've missed anything. Sounds like no I haven't.

He's 5'8". I don't believe we can sleuth him but his prison docket is here.

I am skeptical of this. Earlier this week this same helicopter was circling NGs home and also various search-like circles around Tucson all at 500 ft and under 80kts.

I find it hard to be believe that LE has only used the sniffer device the one time over her house on February 3 and by foot when agents went door to door. Has LE seriously not thought to check the local landfill? I know there's a million possible spots NG could be but the landfill seems like a plausible location to cross off the list for peace of mind in the investigation.

you think they're BSing so investigators can do a better job keeping their cards close to their vest? possible. if true, it's a good problem.

I believe the same. There is no chance the grid search at the dump wasn't related.

Among the very interesting comments in this video, toward the end, the Lt, addresses the manner in which the mask guy was carrying his gun, which is strange to say the least. However, among the cartels, that style of carrying a weapon is common and called the "Mexican Carry" for what that's worth.
Mexican carry is sans a holster. Imo

He has a criminal record so his height would be listed there, I would guess. It appears his parents are wealthy given the house and neighborhood they live in... the RR was listed for sale at 17k because it was a 2017 model.

I think the blood was aspirated from a blow to the nose and it was either from her nose itself or her mouth (a cough or a sneeze).
