Your suggestion is altruistic, but I would never give away the rights to my DNA to anyone.
IMHO, you can read through the woes of 23andMe on Wikipedia to see what can happen when giving away your rights to your DNA: "...a valuable data mine for third parties such as health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, advertising companies, biotechnology companies, law enforcement, or other interested parties. People may not actually be aware of how the company uses the data, and there are always risks of data breaches. Personal information of customers of 23andMe “may be accessed, sold or transferred”.
