I looked at the video and the finger. I’m not sure there was a pinky ring. But that’s just me. I am not at all sure the eyebrows were manicured. Some people just have beautiful brows. And some men and women have beautiful curly lashes. I do agree it could be a neighbor but it would be tough to hide Nancy. Those homes are expensive in that area. So the only reason would be ransom and that is sort of ruled out. I still believe it was a grudge of some kind.

I'd love to know how intensely the cops questioned neighbors. Did they just chat for a few minutes at the door and ask for camera footage, or did they ask to take a look around the properties, 'just in case'? I know the prevailing theory is Nancy was taken away in a car, but she could be a few streets over or in the general area.

IMHO, you can read through the woes of 23andMe on Wikipedia to see what can happen when giving away your rights to your DNA: "...a valuable data mine for third parties such as health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, advertising companies, biotechnology companies, law enforcement, or other interested parties. People may not actually be aware of how the company uses the data, and there are always risks of data breaches. Personal information of customers of 23andMe “may be accessed, sold or transferred”.

And this and many other reasons is why I will NEVER do any of these dna websites. I really don’t care what my ancestry is and I’m not giving my bodily fluids to just anyone lol. Nope. Too many other things can be down with it that I didn’t want. JMO

There has actually been some data recently that 23 and Me has made some gross errors, brought people together who aren’t really related and parents and children who were never related. I sincerely believe in DNA if an FBI lab is used.

My brother found a daughter he had no idea about, and she is his Mini Me. 23 and Me is no longer owned by the original group, and sold to a Pharma with no parameters. They warned us some time ago, and I removed all my info from the site. I wouldn't trust anything that comes from there now.

It is obvious to me in the close-ups of Lantana man that he is wearing a silicone or similar type of mask under the ski mask. This quite clearly obscures and even reshapes his eyes. This also means that any facial hair observed is questionable as to its authenticity. I've attached two pictures from the video that are not enhanced in any way, only blown up and cropped. I've also attached an example of a real mask.

I don't believe he was wearing a mask like this. It's often annoying to get the eye holes to line up right especially if you're planning to do physical activity like move a 150 lb woman. I genuinely just think this perp has really unique facial features

Going on memory, I think they talked to all the nearby neighbors, got video, and asked if they could search their yards. Nothing of interest was found so far. IMO

I really wish they could find the getaway car on a neighbors’ or street camera. This car might be seen on earlier dates, casing NG’s house. Since the crime was apparently premed, the criminal likely drove by, checked the best way out of neighborhood, even picked out a spot to place NG afterwards. Hard to believe there aren’t more cameras.

The usual argument against the presence of a face mask is that materials like silicone and latex reflect back more infrared that skin does in the near-infrared frequencies used for night mode. (NG’s camera was recording in night mode. The footage is monochrome and things get brighter as they approach the camera’s IR lamps.) That property causes a mask classed as hyper-realistic under visible light to appear lighter, less detailed and more washed out than real human skin.

In this case, though, there’s very little skin visible and very little of the mask visible. It makes it harder to judge because there’s not much to compare with – no neck, no ears. Most of the face/face mask is covered by the ski mask.

We do see bare wrists. The face doesn’t appear brighter, and that initially seems like an argument against the presence of a realistic face mask. But the wrists are closer to the IR source of the camera, while the face is further from it. That might balance things out (inverse square law).

Where do you think the border is between face and the soft face mask? Do you think the mask covers everything but the eyes and teeth?

Hi contemplated whether the mouth was real, including the facial hair. To me his head is misshapen and I think that's also the mask.

The removal of her from the house is so difficult to figure out.

Could also be if she was injured or died in the home, from shock or a struggle, they might have hoped they would buy time by her not talking, or being viewed as having wandered off.

Unless they intended from the beginning to kidnap for ransom, but then couldn't provide proof of life.

I have had this very thought. I used to tell my family anything like that that happened to me: nasty cashier, difficult neighbor, etc. But as I've gotten older, I refrain from telling them every little thing because I don't want them to worry about me. Maybe NG felt the same way. We don't want to be treated like children, especially by our children.

With what? I doubt they planned for it and brought a pair of shears with them.

I'm not suggesting this is the actual reason for removing her either just a possibility, I personally believe she was still alive when she left the house judging by the blood pattern at the front door
